Space: 1889 (OOC & Claims)

Really the US was just never blatant with their colonial ambitions. The majority of the US even today doesn't really know that we own Puerto Rico or Guam. And most don't know that we owned the PI.

Anyway we get at least one more player and we are ready to roll. Game thread will be up tomorrow.

Ottomans
Russia
Italy

Also, the spreadsheet needs to be revamped. Military costs for the advanced stuff is extremely low.

One steam walker is the same price as 8 infantrymen. An ironclad battleship is the same price as 350 infantrymen. An Ether Battleship, which is the pinnacle of military technology, comes out to the same price as 1,1250 infantrymen. In reality, a state of the art battleship built in 1889 (Royal Sovereign) cost nearly a million pounds, which comes out to over 90,000,000 pounds today. In ww2, a Sherman tank cost $46,000, while an infantryman's equipment maybe cost $500 at the absolute most

With regards to Mars, can earth plants be grown there and vice versa? Can Humans eat martian food and vice versa? Can animals from mars or earth survive on the other's planet?

BTW the Qing aren't that weak right now , they have going the self-strengthening movement which modernizes the army and economy aspects of China , the only thing that lacked for it to work was some political will , which I will whole heartly give them

Qing
Perú
Egypt

They aren't too well off, they just lost their navy, Korea and Taiwan in 1895 and historically get 'intervened in' by 8 countries in 1900. Though that was the result of an uprising you could simply not have happen or go differently in-game.

If I am not wrong we are in 1889 not 1894-1895 , First Chinese-Japanese war still doesn't happens

You can take the Ottomans if you'd like, but honestly having a Russia player would be far more interesting this early in the game.

Thanks for pointing that out, I don't proclaim to be an expert on 1800s pay, or military fiances. I'll tweak the expenses, please continue to point out anything like this that you notice. It'll probably take a few days for us to really fine tune and balance the economy. If anyone feels like they are making to much, or to little money, please let me know.

Yes, some Earth plants can be grown there, corn, cucumbers, and potatoes have done rather well. While thinks like wheat and rice, not so much. Mars plants have been pretty much the same result on Earth. Yes, both Humans and Martians can eat food from the opposite planet, although reactions vary. For the most part it seems humans can eat most Mars plants and animals with little to no problem. Even some Martian poisons don't seem to bother Human.

The Qing are on a downhill sloop, and behind technologically. It'll take some effort to pull them back.

But they are yours.

What population should I use? Mainland Britain or the Empire?

Use the British Isles pop, you don't get tax income from colonies. Instead you get a lump sum of CP if the colony is successful, or you get a drain on your treasury if its just an expensive prestige thing.

Frabce Italy russia
and what about Venus or Mercury? Canon 1889?

Italy is yours.

Well the Qing have the largest population and largest GDP (According to Madison Estimates) , the difficult thing is to reform the government , embrace western tech and lower down corruption.

Italy... of course, the classic north/south dichotomy is a problem, as is the general feeling of being disrespected and the obstinate disapproval of the pope... any great differences to OTL Italy?

Not really, like the rest of the Triple Alliance you suffer from a crippling lack of Liftwood, and are stuck using Helium for your Atherships.

@HellHound01 how long does building more industry or CP take? Will we need mod approval to expand our fleets, army or military infrastructure?

3 turns to build a point of Industry or CP. Also three turns to build a Armory, Shipyard, Land Complex, or Ether Shipyard.

You only need mod approval to put a point into the IN or CP building box. You can expand your fleets, armies, and military infrastructure as you wish. For the army and MI it takes a year or less before its complete. For ships, it takes several years to finish a battleship, around 4 for a cruiser, 2 for a frigate, everything else takes a year.
