SMITE: Godly Showdowns

It's one object dedicated to anti-heal. :3 Counter build to have a better power curve, delete them early and use that.

What to do when people get anti-heal to screw over your lifesteal/HP-Regen/Healer God?
Focus them heavily and make them fall behind. If its Odin's ult get phantom to get out, alternatively Orisis's ult can be countered by aegis? Most antiheal moves should be to, although it's only ideal if your about to die. Most of the time you'll have a better power curve so just kill them then heal after.

Rah, it's raging when you have toxic players on a conquest game.

Its ridiculous, just had a game with a Cabrakan who was a serious asshole. Played Rata, was kinda mediocre and panicked when everyone wanted me to help their lane at once. And then he started insulting me and complaining about everything so quickly. It was especially hilarious because he kept asking for help in his lane early game and then he complained that I hadn't even once gone to duo lane? He even went and whispered to call me a pussy when I said I was gonna mute and report him. I mean yeah he was a good player (at the cheap Cabrakan technique. Aka Poly and oneshot people with a super easy method.) But does he seriously think he has the right to insult people for being bad? That is like wanting the game to die and no new players to pop in.

Like holy shit, how retarded can people get? I am genuinely wondering if some people who play the game have some problems in their head.

Honestly, even though we won.... I wish we had quickly lost. I have had hard fought games that we lost where everyone played together and was nice and these games.... they were the shit. I was laughing and smiling in these sort of games. There were times I died uselessly and people said "no problem, can happen to everyone" and shit. And even if we lost it was so much better.

I would prefer a thousand losses with a nice team over a single win with assholes.

Edit: I may start abusing this thread as a way to talk about the latest case of flaming I experienced. It takes out all the annoyance I may feel if I can just start writing and go all "Look at this dark and edgy brat and their serious case of Chuunibyou!"

Just won a joust game with Jing Wei, Thoth and Amaterasu (me) vs Loki, Awilix and Kali.

We went 2-12... And then in 5 min we went 15-13.

Patch notes are out.... huh did not expect many of these changes. Dot gods will have it much better now.

Heeeeeeey, to nobody's surprise, Cern is getting a nerf!
I actually like most of the changes here, and i appreciate the Stargate skins.

Yeah, he was kinda ridiculous. And honestly, this seems like a minor thing all things considered. Not sure if it will help at all.

Not sure how to feel about the cheapening of Toths & Soul Reaver. I never felt like they were too expensive given how strong they were.

The Jing buff seems kinda meh to be honest. Though maybe they will do more in the future.

I GOT MY FIRST PENTA!

On assault 20/2 I got to level 20 without dying, then a stray ult killed me, so I spent 10k on four items and got a quadra, as the last guy was down and take the 2 towers, then they focus me and I die again. Respawn with a full build and run to save my last two team member standing, they both go down but I get the Penta with the help of Agni as he respawned...

I'm shaking from adrenaline again now :(

I take it you were playing as Artimes? xD

Ahahaha, good job!

Still not having my own penta. I am a bit jealous, but not in any hurry.

I GOT MY FIRST PENTA!

Congratulations, haven't got one myself. (Best I have are a few triple kills) But I mostly play supports so I never felt it was that important.

Always liked Artimes myself. ^^ She's not as flashy as a lot of hunters, but she has solid damage potential with her crit-passive. She's one of the hardest hunters to play right, though.

Artemis main problem is early clear from what I remember, that plus no escape. Once she does get to a good level she is a total monster that rivals hypercarries such as Ah Muzen Cab.

Artimes' main thing is that she's mana-hungry especially since you're forced to use her lane clear frequently. this can lead to losing lane control if you're forced to back too often, and her lack of an escape also means that you have to be really sure about what you're doing - dying once or twice could easily put you far behind. She does have her steroid in the form of her self-buff, but that is not too great in the early game (Well, it's okay, don't get me wrong. But you're probably not going to be running down a foe with it unless you've carefully set up the situation.) Late game, she's a high tier hunter, but the main problem is usually getting her to that stage. Artimes is a skill intensive god because she has high potential, but punishes mistakes. She has no escape, so you have to position well. Her lane clear - especially in early game - is bad, so if you're not careful, your opponent will try to pick you apart as you fight the minion wave. Her traps can be seen and avoided, so you need to lay them skillfully.

All in all, I actually consider her a pretty well designed god. She's just one of the tougher ones to really master and make your own.

I do occasionally hear on Reddit that people want a little buff for her early waveclear, her and Xbalanque for the most part. (He did get one a patch ago I think.)

There is often lots of comparison between her and the super safe hunters ala Neith. Meanwhile Ah Muzen has to survive off of pure firepower and Chiron seems to have been nerfed even harder than Jing? Huh, reading Reddit is interesting.

Question, what sort of non-standard Assassins are currently playable without too much pain? I got into a game as Jungle Ymir some time ago and went like 12/3 or something. (Lots and lots of early kills until I was fed and could two-shot people.)

I played a bit with Jungle Jing Wei when she was new, but with her changes I don't expect that to work nearly as well as it did back then. Does Skadi still work? What about Vamana?

Slightly sideways to what you asked but I managed to pull off solo Ymir vs Poseidon ranked.

Back to the topic, Athena was ok last I checked, her ult means you can help people and nuke the enemy if set up right.

I heard some good about Tyr and Cernunnos jungle.

Anyone still playing this game? Recently started again, currently only doing Arena and other modes outside Conquest.. not sure if I will even start playing Conquest again.. seems too much of a bother. Especially given the tendency for people to be assholes in that game mode.

Also, huh for some reason I got Cu Chulainn and Pele for free even though neither was released when I last played a year or so ago... was there some event that gives you random free gods or something?

So far things are going okay, some total fuck up games where I keep dying no matter what I do etc... some where I end up with the highest kill count etc...

Have they added Jesus yet?

I am not sure if they could even make him work even if they got over the fear of making all the abrahamic worshippers go crazy. (Oddly enough, the Hindu's seem rather happy with what has been added and want more from what I have read.) He was a pacifist, his biggest things were healing the sick, dying and dead. And Hirez seems to dislike making healers that are strong at healing since they cannot balance them without making them too weak or too strong for their liking. Note all the anti-heal that can be gained so easily and Osiris/Odin/Serquet as gods with strong Anti-Heal effects.

Just got into smite and I like not but I want to play with some friends. Can someone help me?

Playing mostly Freya right now and I'm looking to get good with another melee person like Bellona, Assasin, and maybe Amaratsu.

Games are either a big win or stomp usually and can take long if I Joust.

Assassins can be a bit tricky since they are rather squishy all things said. I never quite got the hang on them when I still played the game.

For Warriors, think about what you want. Bellona is like a good counter to auto-attack based characters due to her whip which Disarms enemies so they cannot attack, and the shield which blocks a certain number of basic attacks. She also has strong but somewhat obvious poke in her hammer swing and a powerful but tricky to use ultimate.

Amaterasu meanwhile has a passive self-heal and buffing aura for surrounding allies, a silencing attack followed by a dash to hunt down enemies, a laserbeam that gets stronger if you are being hit or hit others and an Ultimate that can stun enemies if they get hit by it thrice.

Personally I prefer Amaterasu and have managed to do some crazy kills with her in the past.

Hmmmm... one thing you may want to avoid are gods with really strong self-heals like Heracles or Vamana. I love the little big guy, but if the enemy buys anti-heal, you are kinda fucked from what I remember since there is no way to counter-counter heal.
