"Gravity slime research" is esoteric enough that I'd at least need a write-in. What do you hope to gain out of this? Adaptation research generally works better if you have some actual problem you're trying to solve or objective you're trying to achieve.
Will this do?I propose new slime: Gravity
Thump was taking a small break from guard duty and getting some grub.
It was looking up at the food-things in the plant-things and thinking about how to get them when one of them dropped and bumped off from its metal skin.
"That is convenient" it thought.
It froze.
That was convenient.
The food came down because it was ponderous!
Ponderoussness was a property of the metal type, but it seemed to exist in pretty much anything else as well.
Metal slime could became more heavy and ponderous, but what if unmetal could become less ponderous?
Could ponderousness manipulation be projected?
Thump absentmindedly absorbed the food while he thought.
How easy would it be to haul stuff? To build large things?
What if ponderousness could be tilted? Everywhere you go is downhill?
No more drudging along the corridors, ponderousness working against you. If you want to visit the priests. You just change form and zip there!
Run into trouble when scouting and nothing can catch you?
This warranted research, it thought as it returned to it's post.
some of these I had planned for already. Others I could perhaps be convinced of. Others... aren't going to happen.Warriors do not have any Writ, right?
Otherwise would have put him on Drone tech.
Edit:
Some thoughts for info form
Some are pretty out there.
- W-lan.
---Communicate at distance.
---Channel the Goddess. Allow Her to See with our eyes/Speak with our mouths.
- Skill transfer (skills in form packets?)
- Learning
- Increased perception/scanner
- Mind reading
- Memory editing
- Battle analysis (needs a good command-hierarchy to work?)
- Brain-machine interface (drone-use boost? One with the Goddess?)
- Mentat. ("Fear is the mind killer")
- Telepathy / universal language.
- Thought / communication encryption. (if we meet hostile telepaths or shifters)
