These citation boxes are confusing - I first thought that this was a Q & A chapter. (You don't need to change them, I like this style - perhaps a small note at the beginning?)

wow I am having trouble coming up with things that don't have a obvious way to be weaponized. Because I had an idea that would create an instant shelter or instant town but then that makes me think instant military base. then I thought of clothing, but this device could maybe destroy the economy of clothing.

its really hard to think of devices that I couldn't weaponize...
I don't know what this says about me

You know you don't HAVE to toss an entire endbringer at our SI, instead why not toss some ziz bombs instead? They would make for a more subtle type of conflict be it bureaucratic or lethal. Case in point It would be possible for some ziz bombs in the PRT to put things in the way of the SI.

But this is exactly the sort of thing that got Mannequin Ziz'd. I'm looking for insight as to what the community feels our friendly neighborhood Featherbringer will do. I'll admit that part of me is screaming to have her break the attack pattern and go hunting a certain pint-sized Variable Fighter immediately, before Sky can build dimension-eater weaponry.
The last date we have is April 10th. Canon has the Simurgh attacking Canberra February 24th and Leviathan attacking Brockton Bay May 15th. I'd argue that baring a world-changing effect by a CYOA choice or the ROB that placed Sky here that an out-of-cycle (Endbringer cycle) attack should only be done if there is an immediate threat to either cycles (Entity or Endbringer cycle). Basically, she presumably has programming left over from Eden relating to the Entity cycle but it's implied in canon that she's still working towards the Warrior's death. Additionally, she's got the mind-whammy by Eidolon to 'be worthy opponents'. While the locations of the Endbringer attacks ARE designed to have effects on the world, they're also following Eidolon's orders/desires so attacking Skydancer immediately would be very strange. IIRC, canon isn't super-strict on the order of the Endbringers, making it possible for an individual Endbringer to have two attacks in a year, but never concecutively. They also aren't super-strict on the timeline of attacks, the first two canon attacks in 2011 were two and a half months apart after all. I'm also a bit confused since they average 3 attacks per year, but also average 3 months between attacks?.. Maybe I'm misremembering and don't feel like doing a more exhaustive check.
Anyways, my point is I could see Ziz having a second go, even if it'd be a consecutive attack by her, and I could see her attacking as early as late April (but better it be early May), but definitely not an immediate attack.
The exeption would be if Skydancer does something that has the potential to disturb either cycle. Starting work on an Anti-Endbringer weapon that's guaranteed to work, getting Eidolon into therapy / telling Cauldron about his power-loss, doing something which hurts Eidolon's moral (superiority / inferiority complex), or doing something about Scion. Any of those might be reason enough for an immediate attack (or even a long-range use of her powers not holding back to do something about Skydancer without being obvious, after all all the Endbringers are rediculously holding back, it'd be believable she could make Skydancer a Ziz-bomb without leaving orbit or doing her song.)

Even though it's not canon, I always felt there was a good chance that Tragg was a subtle Ziz-bomb. I could definitely see him butting into PRT ENE's business and ordering stuff about Skydancer (maybe with the help of Coil/Calvert, as a way to discredit Piggot?).
Alternatively, the Travellers are either already in Brockton Bay or will be there shortly, maybe they'd do something?

Okay the main thing you need to keep in mind is Ziz's main goals here.

Those are:

1.) Kill the Golden Idiot.

2.) Preserve Dadversary's life.

Everything she does is in service to those goals. Sphere got ganked because people moving of Earth would have set the Idiot off early killing everything. If Skydancer's plans won't reach that point until after Scion is dead probably Ziz won't come after her personally in my opinion. Hell if Skydancer can build something that would make killing Scion quicker and/or easier she might end up with some, very round about, help.

I wanted point out how such an invention would not work or be inefficient energy wise..... But then I realized tinker tech.

Ziz definitely won't break pattern.

The EB's primary driving order is Eidolon's subconscious 'Be Worthy Opponents' order from when he created them.

Now they do other stuff as well, and that's because Eidolon coded his Endbringers using a premade program, and because he is a shit programmer he forgot to clear out the old base programming of 'Promote Conflict' and 'Prevent large scale co--operation'.

Or in other words the only command they're actually trying to execute is Eidolon's, it's just the other stuff is legacy code that keeps getting invoked by accident.

I guess that's the problem when you start something as a one-off intended to clear a plotbunny clogging your muse-tube and it just refuses to die. Zombie plotbunnies are known for aimless shambling from scene to scene. I've got some ideas for future scenes; but I'm finding it difficult to get from where I am now to the President interrupting regularly scheduled programming to solemnly intone "My fellow Americans..." As always, constructive feedback will be appreciated, and frothing e-hate will be met with a sense of smug satisfaction.

The thing is you can't defeat or even less likely avoid/destroy the simurgh unless it wants you too.

Even hopping dimensions to a different earth Will not necessary save you.

She acquired and mastered the "Travellers"
She knew who to target and specifically more specifically when to targeted them which means her sight isn't bound to earth Beta.

Best option is to get off the planet while the simurgh is attacking another location.

The more good Skydancer does the more likely She is to be targeted the Endbringers and the actually Evil capes. Eg slaughter house and Elite, foreign cape groups and eventually cauldron..

Remember Cauldron is trying out parahuman feudalism...unless she's promoting that somehow or she eventually takes over the bay, she will be targeted by Cauldron indirectly.

I would say avoid aiming for space just for now and focus on a country.

I know you said that the shard would block sky from releasing her tech database to the masses but what about making it a deadman's switch instead? There is a good chance she would die from the things she is doing so having a backup plan encase the worse cast scenario seems like a good idea.... or it could be said releasing large amounts of tinker tech able to be reproduce-able is bad, but hey backup plans right?

All this talk of the Simurgh trying to Ziz-bomb Skydancer... has the author confirmed that her, now apparently artificial, brain can even be Ziz-bombed?

In fannon it was common for Dragon to be Ziz-bombed by way of setting her on a logic loop by messing with her code for a bit. Cannon on the other hand I'm not sure as I never read it. As for what the author picks? no idea.

Sky's brain isn't entirely artificial though. A lot of the legacy wetware for controlling a mutant monkey body is out; but her brain is organic and does have a recognizable corona potentia and gemma. That means she's flat out immune to Alec; since his power works on human motor nerves, not overtech fly-by-wire systems.

It's not in her head, of course; that's a terrible place to keep your central processing system.

Ziz is a precog, though. THE Precog. She doesn't have to be able to see into alternate realities to know "If I perform action A at time Q; I receive X". She knew opening the hole would give her the Travelers, because she could see the future where she'd opened the hole and gotten the Travelers. She doesn't necessarily have to have pandimensional clairvoyance to do that.

So, this isn't what I intended to come next; but Kaiser just refused to take Brad's defeat live on candid camera laying down. With Purity unavailable and Cricket for some reason refusing to climb into a over sized water-balloon slingshot held by the Twins, my options for Luftwaffe were pretty slim. Rune will probably be happy her fight with the cape who blew off Hooky's leg off ended with a philosophy lecture rather than gunfire. Or not; she was stupid enough to rejoin the Herren clan after her parents had made a break.

As for the second half; Sky's starting to dig into her bootstrap database and share what she knows. Her shards' influence is going to keep her from thinking of just mass-mailing the whole database to every major university, industry, and government in the world; but Sky's still trying to make a difference with what she can share. I wanted a device that would be helpful in a humanitarian sense, with no obvious way to weaponize; and would demonstrate what her technology is capable of.

I really enjoyed the chapter, and found the characterization quite belivable...until I started reading the A/N.
Kaiser is not an idiot, and it would take an idiot (or a teenager, but I repeat myself) not to realize Rune would be completly out matched by Skydancer, and even such an idiot would hopefully not lead off with a low level attack like the bricks Rune pelted Skydancer with if it was a planned attack, as opposed to Rune encountering Skydancer and attacking without thinking (which is how I read the chapter and makes sense in that context).
If Kaiser wanted to attack Skydancer he could have led off with:
1)Crusader (possibly supported by Rune and/or a couple of mooks with RPGs or tinkertech laser guns), but his ghosts would be the primary attack.
2)Set up an ambush, getting Skydancer to come down to the ground (if possible indoors) and then attacking.
3)Get some additional support from the German organization he works with/one of the unnamed capes/hire from outside BB, basically invent an OC that will be useful in fighting Skydancer (probably not a good idea from a storytelling POV but it's an option Kaiser has) either alone or supporting others.
4)Get Fenja or Menja a bow, gun or other projectile weapon to attack Skydancer with.
5)Help Rune get an actual plan for the attack, possibly have Othalla grant her invulnerubility first, or have some mooks backing her up

I'm actually kinda bummed that you had the prime opportunity to go for an Ace Combat reference and you didn't take it.

Then again, showing Rune that there is, in fact, A World With No Boundaries might've been too on the nose.

I don't think I have ever read the twins wielding any kind of ranged weapon. Their powers may not let the item stay embiggened after they let it go or fire it off.
Point. But if they'd let them use a 10,000lb draw bow it would still be a useful AA weapon, even if the arrow shrinks as soon as they fire it and doesn't change speed when doing so.

What will the Featherhead do to screw over Sky's project? Why manipulate events so all of the purifiers also have some secret observation tech in them which will get discovered and cause a ton of places to outright reject her miracle purifier and suspect whatever else she is working on.

Or just make a huge ass bow and arrows and let them grow big enough to use them. The idea has problems, I'm sure, but I don't know enough about making giant bows and arrows to know what they are.

Given how large the twins can get it wouldn't be all that hard to modify autocannons that are normally the primary weapons of light armored vehicles to be handheld. I'm sure they could easily use a gun like the 30mm GAU-90s the AMP suits in Avatar use. Heck they might even be able to turn something like a 75mm pack howitzer or larger into a handheld for the twins.

While I'm sure the E88 has access to all sorts of weapons, I'd like to think they would have difficulty getting a hold of such cannon and ammunition for them.

How to weaponize a water purifier? Simple, crank up the pressure. Enough pressure and you've got either a water cutter if you can aim the spigot, or one hell of a bomb if you just let it build up until it reaches the point of material failure. Or you could add supplements to the water, but that kind of defeats the point of purifying it in the first place.

They should have tried to use one of the twins bras at giant size as the slingshot, that might of convinced Cricket.

That or I've just read Silencio one time too many. :V
