Situation Foxtrot (SAO/Foxhole) [COMPLETE]

[X] Plan: Start Digging, Frederick
-[X] Expand your bunker base with Defensive Patterns (Requires techniques, vote to begin development)
--[X] With heavy patterns
-[X] Commit training!
--[X] Administration Training: At some point, you're going to figure out the fine art of delegation. Some point.
-[X] Extra work shifts
--[X] More Building: Put everyone to work on getting your bunker upgrades planned. If you don't have some planned, the bunker will get what the troops think it needs.
-[X] Get in touch with the War Bureau to join up.

This got my vote. Here's hoping they dont start the offensive next turn.

Unfortunately I don't think we can actually do anything about the offensive right now. We don't have any real political weight to throw around, or the bodies to make a difference. And as much as I feel for the poor sods that're heading into a quagmire, I don't particularly feel like throwing ourselves into it.

Best chance we have to stop it is to get on the War bureau and that's still an extremely long shot.

Edit: I think having us nearby when/if it fails would be a good idea since we could buy some time for our demoralized allies

Yeah the offensive probably has too much momentum to stop. What we can do is prepare for the aftermath and create the operation plan to give to the War Bureau to see if frontline regiments and logistics regiments can follow it.

Yeah, most of our guys are green with a few yellow. We havent started the rifle training so their aim may be shit. So far, only other other QRF regiment we know is the 29 and they're yellow like us. It's been a month since the Colonial offensive. Would the Bureau be willing to wait half a month or more to get more troops and material ready? Based on the reports of engineering fixing the 11th's base, either the offensive starts next month, in the following two weeks (next turn), or the next half of the month (Next-next turn) to allow more units/material to get sent up to the front.

Why did we go for vehicle training?

Edit: Never mind, we're planing on being artillery
Yeah remember that we are a Yellow level regiment, and most of our guys are Green level. We are not going to be fighting on the frontlines as frontline infantry anytime soon and artillery remains king of the battlefield. Being logistics + artillery is a good choice.

Also just in general, I have to urge every plan to include contacting the War Bureau please. There's been some rather heavy hints from the author that we should be getting on with that, but it seems to have been lost in the noise.
"Thanks. We'll need it- the War Bureau really needs more members."

"I didn't think it was undermanned," you said, scratching your chin.
If you ever decided to talk to the War Bureau, they might appreciate some planning on that.

Edit: I changed my mind it seems like we should contact the war bureau and this plan has us focusing on getting the bunker issue sorted out quickly.

Changing vote. I guess joining the war bureau is a good idea. Getting the planning for the operation to take Stonecradle done should be easier with input and information from the War Bureau.

I mean, if y'all have an issue with being artillery, the first vote doesn't lock anything in stone. You could learn to be any number of other roles that are avaliable- although becoming a Grenadiers, Hussars, or Cuirassiers regiment is still pretty hard-locked on tech. The most advanced regimental template you could probably do soon is probably Dragoons, and that's only after T4 when Niskas and/or O'Briens.

I don't have a problem with artillery I was just confused since we've mostly been focused on getting our regiment in some manner of order. Driving lessons aren't bad for that but rifle lessons would be better to get useful Organization. it's worth investing in long term goals like that.

Also on a closer reread of the update, the War Bureau captured some 30mm Daucus Infantry Support Guns, which are tripod mounted artillery pieces that excel at bunker busting. They're looking to hand them out to a second line unit. We're a second line unit.

Truck with Anti Tank gun given to QRF unit. We're gonna become Tank Hunters, we definitely need more shoot shoot training.

Please show me on the tech tree where the enemy has tanks, because I assure you: I did not put them there yet. They get tanks when you get tanks. Hopefully I don't need to keep explaining the parallelism.

good thing we have the personal lieutenant so we can train them twice as hard, or train them and do something else

Pity you can't make training past daily use basics really stick without NCO units- until then, your training options are rifle, truck, and paperwork: that's it.

I just kinda said Tank without going to in-depth into thinking about it. Anti-Vehicle/Structure would probably be a better term. No need to explain, I understood it. Just used the word tank, my mistake

I gotta make sure here, ok? Foxhole models a lot of things very specifically, and that means I need to obey the same modeling restrictions. The weapons you use for anti-tank work are not the ones you use for anti-building work, and if the two get mixed up everyone is going to have a bad time. The ISG is just that: an infantry support gun. It takes out bunkers, it provides mouseholing, and it makes possible overwatch against armored cars. After that? You need to get a dedicated weapon for the job.

Those infantry support guns will be very useful if we can pull off convincing other units to follow the plan we'll develop for taking Stonecradle.
