Sophie has long been one of the most popular names in England. Heather is admittedly less common, but I know of a couple. Having siblings with names starting with the same letter- Lucy and Lauren- also seems like something most parents would avoid? Maybe.

I dunno man, I'm just shilling per QM instructions. :)

Only pair of identical twins I know are named Amilee and Ashley. Yes, seriously. (Amilee is pronounced Emily, but that's how she spells her name. shrug)

Given that I have some work to get done, I'm not finishing the update tonight.

However, I will open the vote up for discussion.

Make a plan for the day that keeps the twins entertained and out of mischief until four.

To simplify matters, I have divided the day into three segments: Morning, Mid-day, and Afternoon. The time is 0715. Mum arrives back home at around 4:30. You have a credit card, but you'd rather not spend much more than £50 on the day's entertainment, if you go out. Keep it relatively cheap.

My inclination would be to take our sisters here:

[ ] Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park

I checked, it started in 2007.

A short tube ride away, free entry, ice skating, carnival, haunted house, shows, rollercoaster, rides, stalls, Winter food, German Christmas market, lots of people to panic when the world goes to hell.

Amusment parks are rather expensive, though. £50 isn't enough for three people. I mean, it might work, but you'd have to specifically stick to the cheap stuff, and that wouldn't be fun at all. Not being able to play all the games, not being able to go on all the rides, it really depends on how old the twins are, but that might make or break the experience.

I propose we focus the day around the house, and use our Older Sibling skills to turn it into a fun day. Generally that means board games and infectious enthusiasm as a base, but I don't actually know the ages(and through that knowledge general maturity) of the twins.

Lucy is obviously old enough to adult at some level given her credit card, breakfasting skills, and her mother trusting her to watch her sisters.

You're allowed to spend as much as you want if it's for a mum-approved cause. Remember, you haven't actually left yet. Lucy's not the type that likes spending large chunks of money, but she also knows the value of entertainment, especially on holiday.

TL;DR: If you and the twins consider it money well spent, it's money well spent. You mother probably will too.

Ah, that opens up a great many options. I'm in support of Hyde Park, then. My only objections to it at this point are metagaming based ones.

You found a skirt!?

And our sisters are in the 11-13 range.

There was some free stuff at the event as well.

Post 0.2.1: Egg Rhapsody
Egg Rhapsody

Half of your brain wants to make a full monty to start the holiday. The other half wants to try the eggs Benedict recipe you recently learned.

You decide Monty wasn't the best general, and combine the difference. In lieu of separating the bacon, muffin, and poached egg on a plate, you decide to combine them with Hollandaise to create eggs Benedict.

From the fridge and the pantry, you grab eggs, butter, lemon, vinegar, a few bay leaves, and some peppercorns, the ingredients for Hollandaise. You start by reducing the vinegar with the bay leaves and peppercorns and separating some eggs. Over the next ten minutes, you grill some turkey sausage, tomatoes, and bacon, heat a tin of beans, fry up four handfuls of mushrooms, and poach (with a swirl) a few eggs.

Mum's the first down. "Morning, Lucy. Did you have good night's sleep?" she asks.

"Yes, mum," you reply while intently watching Hollandaise glaze in the grill. "Breakfast is served!"

"Eggs Benedict? I have not had that for quite some time," Mum remarks. "2000, I think: when we went to New York on holiday."

While you take the now-golden muffins out, she starts the kettle.

Behind you, you hear soft footsteps. "Oi! You two! Breakfast is ready!" Fun ruined, like a pair of cuckoos from a clock, the two pop out from their spot around the corner. "Set the table please," you say, and the two move to place silverware on table.

On four plates, you place four eggs Benedict and the supporting cast of your (relatively) balanced breakfast. "Enjoy!"

Between busy bites, Mum breaks the silence. "I have to attend to some matters at the Hospital today. Can you watch the twins until four?"

What do you say? Make a plan for the day that keeps the twins entertained and out of mischief until four.

[][YES] Yes. You will watch them. Locked. You do not need to vote for this.

[][MORN] Write-in: Morning plan. What you do from ~8-11.
[][MID] Write-in: Mid-day plan. What you do from ~11-13.
[][AFT] Write-in: Afternoon plan. What you do from ~13-16.
[][OTHER] Write-in: Anything else you'd like to say?

I reserve the right to combine and modify votes in case of good ideas.

Poaching eggs (with a swirl). We're an above-average cook for a 16-17 year old. Nice.

[X][MORN] Write-in: Morning plan. Chivvy our sisters into getting ready to go out. Wrap up warm! To the tube!
-[X] Morning Addendum. Rock Band 2 Megajam on the Wii! The Armstrongs rock out energetically to Katy, Miley and Taylor. Then let them work some of their deviousness out on us in Super Smash Bros 2. We're getting better at avoiding their devilishly synchronised team-up pressure, chipping from range when we can.
[X][MID] Write-in: Mid-day plan. Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park! Ice skating! Rides! Lunch from the stalls.
[X][AFT] Write-in: Afternoon plan. More Winter Wonderlanding. Haunted House. Shows. Realise we're probably overspending a bit. Deal with complaints when we don't let them ride the roller coaster a second time. Browse the stalls and look at the lights as it starts to get dark. World ends? If not, Hot Chocolate, then home.
[X][OTHER] Write-in: No problem, Mum! We'll go to the Winter Wonderland. Is it OK if we arrange meet a friend there too?

This is rather comprehensive. Far better than anything I could think up on the fly.

[x] Alliterate
I am for it. It is well written vote. Just one question; who is this friend?

You live relatively close to Hyde Park; the first part will take 30 minutes tops. Well, getting there, at least. No guarantees on the Twins, but they'll probably go along.

You think we can get two tweenage girls out of the house and partway across the city in half an hour?

We'll be Grand Admiral of the Combined Earth Fleet by the end of January if that's the case.

Plan is basically 'spend the day at the enormous Christmas carnival and funfair' whenever we actually arrive. Should be heaps to do.

Friend. I dunno. Vicky? Louise? Esther? Anna? Mitsuha?

When the destination is an AMUSEMENT PARK I do not think that will be a problem:V
And Kensington is walk out the door and you are there close to Hyde Park.
