TRAITOR!!
As an aside, here's my reasoning behind my choice of character name for Illustrious, Lucy Armstrong:
- The word "illustrious" comes from the Latin word "illustris" which can mean "bright, shining, brilliant, lustrous", things that can describe light. It also sounds like words related to light, such as "illuminate". Therefore, I figure that Lucy, a name that means "light", would be fitting.
- Illustrious was manufactured by a company called Vickers-Armstrongs, which the surname, Armstrong, references. While Vickers is an option for her surname, there is already a character in another quest named Katsumi Vickers, a natural-born HIJMS Kongō, so I opted for Armstrong instead.
No, that didn't win.Given that we the winning vote was "no natural", she's a freshly summoned vessel.
Final Tally:
Winning Options:
[T][DIFFICULTY] Hard
[T][OPTION] Magical Ships With Shining Souls
Forgotten about that, what a pity since its not clear enough. Sounds annoying creating a new background for Lucy.Given that we the winning vote was "no natural", she's a freshly summoned vessel.

On the other hand, after looking through Illustrious wiki history and taking notes, I think she may be the opposite. Based off of her WWII operations history, summarized as "hangar fires, bomb damage that's more serious than initially thought, one collision with Formidable, sailing to various ports for temporary or permanent repairs, refits, and sea trials", I think she's either reckless, unlucky, or more probably, both. When I see Illustrious, and I see the ship's motto of No Uncertain Voice, it calls to mind a shining bulwark. Not one that is loud, or fervent, but stands, quiet and unyielding. A figure to look towards for guidance, a person who is mature and level-headed.
As the lead ship of her class, and a fleet carrier, those traits suit her well. So, she stands as an inspiration and as a protector to those under her.
That's my takeaway, at least.
Building off of what I already have, I would say that the track record is what shaped her into the bulwark she is. She's definitely been through some shit, but she keeps on going nonetheless. Or perhaps that's stretching it, and we ought to start again from the beginning. On the other hand, after looking through Illustrious wiki history and taking notes, I think she may be the opposite. Food for thought.
But what traits can we extrapolate from this?
