Shadows of the Past

Nah. I agree with Metrux on this one. They won't grab us if we don't stick out. If you are worried, it's best to take it slow and not do anything rash that would raise the suspicion.

Throwing around wads of illegally gained cash because you are in a hurry is the kind of thing that creates rumors and makes waves.
Let's see - traficking in spirit parts, spying for Unity, performing alchemy, eating living beings or going Hyde. Some of these activities we can tone down.

I'd personally prefer to lay low till we can next send a message, and just learn to read and given Xochi can't read either see if she wants to join. Then send a message to Matal and see if the Wise men are capable of detecting what we did to ourselves, and if so what the reaction would be. Something a skilled and very lucky tribal could do (which is pretty much what happened, as we've received no other spiritual knowledge)?

We'd also need to see if he'd want to explore the ruins with us too and if he can recover anything, and see what that skull does.

In that case we already stick out given the stuff we just sold en mass.

Either way, for getting more gear, it doesn't have to be paid for with spirit parts. Before we figured out just how insanely rich we could get by butchering spirits, the baseline was just to go dungeon delving for old treasures. Any of that stuff wouldn't be illegal and we can spend it without fear, and it would be considerably less dangerous to boot.

I'd like to hunt more spirits, but I'll settle for ancient tech.

You can certainly buy a pack alpaca or lama on the market. Though that will slow you down in the jungle and brings other issues.

Mostly by staying in their mountains and the hell away from predators. Pretty much like any other prey species.

It's important to remember that these animals are not native to the jungle. They are terribly adapted to it.
I kind of want to leave the jungle eventually. Maybe head north to some temperate forests if they exist here.

If you want to boost carry capacity, get a frame backpack. A semirigid pack lets you haul a lot more shit due to how the weight is distributed.

Now I'm really curious about what kind of perks someone fully spec'd as a armored frontline fighter would have.
Mostly proficiencies for armor and shields, combat maneuvers and a healthy dose of weapon and blocking related boosts.

I really need to finish up the huge list of all traits. And the map of Cualli. And order my notes on the places. And invent the 36 hour day.

Space station in correct orbit, play havoc with the international date line.
