Semper Ad Meliora (Code Geass/Britannian Royalty Quest)

[X] Plan Degree in Intrigue

Whats this I see? A Code Geass Quest? Count me in.

I only hope we can eventually recruit a certain someone as our bodyguard.

That's right. Half Human, half Orange, its the man, the myth, the legend, the personification of LOYALTY himself JEREMIAH GOTTWALD!

As you can probably guess he's my favorite side character.

-[X] Soldier, Spy: The world sees Britannian royals as powerful individuals, true, but that is because of their position and the society empowering them. On a personal level, though, European yellow journalism and the populist press of other nations casts royalty as brutish and without any grace or subterfuge. You will prove them wrong. Cost: 100; Upkeep: 0; DC: 20; Rewards: Basic spycraft/Rumor Mill Unlocks/Vary by degree of success.
-[X] Codes & Ciphers: Although you can't very well demand tutelage from the empire's very best spymasters and codebreakers... wait, you're royalty. This is very much a thing you can do. Which is why you'll be doing it. Cost: 200, Upkeep: 50, DC: 30; Rewards: Learn the state of Britannia's covert affairs/Possible Intrigue Trait.
-[X] By Degrees: Complete a course of study at a renown college. You've undergone professional tutoring since before you can remember, so this shouldn't be too hard, even if you do walk away with a general studies degree. Nevertheless, graduating at such a young age will be impressive. Cost: 200; Upkeep: 0; DC: 0; Rewards: Trait Gain/Useful(?) or Prestigious College Degree/Vary by... pun not intended.
-[X] Parlor Tricks: The application of mental power and will to affect the real world used to be taken as a sign from any number of gods. These days, it is of little practical use, and less intimidating than the barrel of a gun. It is easy enough to determine whether or not you have an affinity for the ability, though. [X] Plan Degree in Intrigue

I've got a feeling we're gonna roll a Nat 1 for the talent check, but it'll be hilarious to see Lelouch react to being bad at something

...hmm, it occurs to me that I really should have put a two-year time span on that college degree action, at the very least. Damn.

Oh well, Lelouch is a wonder kid anyway and we left believability behind when I kept the Kinghtmare Frames...

And it seems like no one wants the mystery boxes either, ho hum.

Tally time!

Really disappointed nobody wants the mystery boxes. They're usually worth it in Anderson's quests.

Kallen: Bluntly? You're all being too cautious and playing it safe. That's not how you win big. And its not what Lelouch would do.

Lelouch would read the script in advance and plan his moves accordingly :p

We haven't been shown mystery boxes are worth the risk. Slayer is the kind of GM that will give us more than enough rope to hang ourselves with, so if we have good options to take that we know have good rewards the mystery box is just not worth it.

Sure they're probably some of the best if we roll a Nat 100 for, but they're probably some of the worst if we roll a Nat 1 for.

Trollouche on the other hand would write his own script. :drevil:

CC: You're forgetting something very important. Who is this version of Lulu most likely to encounter early if he goes for a mystery option? There's a strong possibility I'm still around. ;)

CC: Say, Anderson? What is my relationship with Mari this time? :ogles:

Also, Anderson isn't an evil GM unless he says so ahead of time. His mystery boxes are almost always interesting.

Frankly, both of the mystery box options are too risky to take. Artifacts has worse than 50-50 odds of us getting a first tier success, while the second tier is likely impossible for us to reach until we increase our Piety and Whispers straight up gives us no info at all, meaning that it is very likely that success there could easily be out of our reach. They are not worth it, especially since we don't know the usefulness of the artifacts and we know nothing about the rewards of Whisper, so it could well be a worthless action that gives us nothing.

Listen to me when I say this: NEVER trust mystery box options that have unknown odds or have odds worse than 50-50, for they are most likely a bait into doing something that would needlessly complicate things.

Scouting out talented minions will improve all actions related to said minions, either by giving a hard bonus, or making whatever task we delegate to those minions that much more effective. If we want to recruit a bodyguard unit next turn, scouting out a good captain will be rather important.
