[] I'd totally forgotten that I had recently transferred to work at that high school in Japan! How embarrassing!Oh, what a beautiful Du-ay! Yeah, what a beautiful day!
[] An oversized oil-drum looking Rhumba constantly bumping into me as I lay sprawled on the…Wait, why the hell am I in the middle of the street?! A city of the future nestled within the modern day. Suitable
[] A spartan military bunk, tight on space, bright on lights. Dammit, get that shit out of my face! I don't want to listen to those annoying pop idols first thing in the morning!
[] A comfortable apartment, nice and well ordered. Gentle sunlight trickling through the window, alerting me of my first shift at my new job. It's a beautiful view, framed by that almost comically oversized tree within the properties center. I'm looking forward to this.
[] …I honestly don't recall moving into a castle lately. Weird. The very air thrums with an ancient power. They say a ghost once held my job. Interesting.
[] I stare at the window as a bunch of my neighbors homes are cordoned off by the local authorities.Yet another Gas attack, huh? Shit sounds suspicious to me by this point. It might even be terrorists, for all I know.

Welcome to Salt Quest! My Third quest, and also, as the title says, it's a Self insert quest. Now, don't get me wrong. It'd be a bit weird if SV were to try and control me. So here's what we do.
Updates will be written by yours truly, and the Main Character, TehChron, will also be controlled by myself. So where does SV come in?
Easy.
You guys get to control the other characters in the setting!
Each voter rolls 2 dice per voting round. 1d20 and 1d100. Using the SV Roller by editing your post after you cast a vote, you roll 1d20 preferably titled "Character Selection" and then roll 1d100. Each voter only gets one vote, but! This vote can be changed or updated as many times as a player wants during each voting phase. But the point of the rolls are pretty simple.
Whichever setting gets decided upon, I'm gonna put together a list of 20 characters assigned to each possible result. Your vote becomes an action carried out by the character that corresponds to the result of your dice roll.
The point of the second roll is similarly simple. It's your general success roll. Each voter will have to roll a 1d100 as well to determine said success. In the event that multiple people end up getting the same character to via their 1d20 roll, rather than taking into account whichever individual vote has the highest number of supporters, what we'll do is figure out the average 1d100's for each of the voted upon options to determine which vote takes effect in the next update.
This same approach will be used whenever the voted upon option for a character is forced to compete against my own rolls for an action.
Anyway, as far as the options go, I know most of those settings with at least a pretty passable familiarity. On the other hand, I'm accepting write-ups, and if I like the idea enough and am familiar with setting, we'll see about getting you guys hooked up.
Language won't be as big an issue as the OP seems to imply, but I intend to stay in character, and these kinds of circumstances would tend to make me curse more often than usual. Having said that, it just wouldn't be a Quest in these settings if there weren't a character sheet to see the main character develop and grow to deal with potential threats, right?
But that's a secret for now. How the fighting would work in one setting, for example, wouldn't necessarily be the case in another one. So how exactly combat and skill trees will work will be revealed once it becomes relevant via progression!
Either way, compared to Fate/Trigger and SPitMW, this quest is going to be very easy to put updates together for, given that I don't have to worry about getting into a characters headspace to write an update. And I likely won't be making major alterations to canon in terms of unknown butterflies to start off with. Not that I don't intend to cause immense ripples of consequence at every available opportunity, anyway.
Anywho, that's all for the introduction, good luck, and welcome to Salt Quest!
