Well. Their leader is a nat 100 person, so...

The Ottomans have their work cut out for them at least.

Well Manuel Palaiologos, the youngest nephew of Constantine XI, was still alive by 1511/12 OTL serving in the Ottoman navy. He died in 1513 at 57, but I don't know of what, so it is conceivable that if he didn't die with the majority of the Ottoman navy he could not only still be alive but live for a few decades past where he died OTL. He had two sons; John died young but Andreas should still be alive, he later converted to Islam but that is something that can probably be changed easily enough.

Well...

WE will not know until the time comes.

Well... So much for hoping for the Magoose dice strike again.

God dammit, why can't they be more compelling. Have some low rolls dammit! :V

The Next turn will come shortly.

Assembled diplomats of Italy, We got 'em!

A very tidy peace to end the war and one that may very well create an image of a magnanimous victor to the other European powers.

Well, that's promising. Should have asked for premium prices afterall.
Magoose dice are fickle like that, should we have asked for premium prices we would have been handed a 1, instead we asked for a smaller portion of the pie and got a real good crit.

Well for now.

After all, we scared the absolute shit out of most of Western Europe.

So we might need to start doing damage control.
We could always try to make friends with Austria, we did just kick the shit out of their rival. Spain's lost prince is a good bet for an ally (if the y ever catch the kid :V), and Britain's far enough away to maybe be an option.

Though correct me if I'm wrong I'm pretty sure France doesn't like us.

France and HRE are negative 1. Their intimidated, but kinda appreciative about us breaking the back of the big empire rising to the south east and making headway into Europe.

Spain is satisfied that we did a good job, and too busy panicking about their prince to worry about us the way france and HRE is.

Britain loves us. We modeled our government after theirs, delt with Piracy in the Mediterranean, and the Empire backing said Piracy, inspired their king to unify the Isle of britain rather than come warring in the continent. Their very greatful.

Tbh france disliking us just makes it an even better deal to make an alliance with the British. On top of that the french were doing violence to the hre which means Austria would be even more interested in an alliance with us against the french. The french more so then anyone else is in a really bad spot. Ottomans have very little to worry about other then internal issues which could cause the country to implode. An austrian alliance with us would also deter the ottomans from attacking the austrians in the future.

Chapter 9: Peace in Our Time
Chapter 9: Peace in Our Time

In which The State finds itself at Peace.

You were back in Rome when you realized that something was wrong with your mentor. He had been moving slower, feeling less chipper, and above all else, surrendering more of his duties to the senate.

It was almost impossible to understate how much it alarmed you. For most of your life, Machiavelli was a dominating presence and reassuring figure that kept everything looking normal.

And well enough to where you suppose that things could always be better. Yet it was when he brought you to your room, to celebrate, he looked at you with a grim face. Even as it hid behind a smile. "I'm dying Luciano." He said the words calmly, without any hesitation.

It was those words that nearly broke your cheerful demeanor. "What?"

"The doctor claimed, and I have every right to believe him, that my heart is out of balance. That I have placed myself under an enormous strain these past few years during this war, to the point where it nearly killed me." He was speaking, not clinically, but also not in a way to worry you.

"What can I do to help you?" You asked. No, demanded as you stood up. "What can I-"

You were stopped. "Unless you can turn back time, and stop me from going into politics…" He laughed. "That is not something we can do. Not that anyone can do."

He smiled, however, with a smile that was warm comforting, and above all else… right. He knew what you needed to hear, even when it is not what you needed.

"You must prepare yourself Luciano, for when I am gone. And I will do everything in my power, to make sure that this dream will not die." He said.

"This is your dream Master, not mine." You replied calmly.

"Perhaps. But it is a dream we now share, that you willingly took upon yourself when you were asked." He said. "What is it I told you about when I gave you the book?"

"That it is to help me become a Prince?" You asked.

"No. It is to help you be a man. Politics hasn't changed you or damaged you as it had to me. I only hope that it doesn't. But I would be a fool if I did not plan to help you."

He then pointed to the Prince. "Keep this close. It may not help you in all matters. But it will help you in the matters that are important." He then stood up. "I can only hope that I have helped you."

Reward: Machiavelli is dying, though when, is unknown. In every rumor mill, there will be an additional roll to see if he survives. With every rumor mill, his chance of survival gets worse.

So...

We're going to have some fun times. Eventually.

Hopefully the Magoose dice decide to have fun, and make things interesting.

Hold on, what's the result of the negotiation again? Did we actually get Greece? I kept searching the threadmark and I found nothing about the result.

Don't tell me I have to browse through the discussion, please. I'm a reader-only stalker!
