Thirty Minutes Into the Outbreak
You woke up with the coppery taste of your own blood as you lay on the ground. Everything hurt, everything ached, your entire world revolved around the concept of excruciating agony for three long heartbeats.
Metal beams were the first few things which greeted your vision. The exposed electrical wires hanging above you let loose pathetic sparks at random intervals.
You could hear rain. You could feel pain. You felt like you're close to going insane. The darkness was suffocating and you could barely move.
It all happened so fast. As if the entire city was hit by a tsunami instead of a typhoon. You remembered... The screams and the groaning of metal. The fall which led you back into God's green earth.
You were with your friends... But now you didn' t know if they were alive. You need to call an ambulance. Someone... Anyone...
Breathing hard, you tried crawling out of the debris trapping you. You winced and flinch as jagged pieces of cement and steel cut into your knees and hands. Yet still you kept moving...
Finally after a few seconds, you were free...
You tried catching your breath and averted your gaze from your bloodied limbs as you looked for a way out. You were at the fifth floor of your friends' apartment before you fell... How you survived could be considered a miracle.
Stumbling through the fallen beams, you ducked and navigated through the ruined building for an exit. You passed by still corpses and bloodied windows...
This... This can't be the work of a typhoon... A terrorist attack?
You fought back the urge to vomit as you entered a hall. The door leading to the outside wouldn't budge, causing you to back track.
Your vision was starting to blur. You're losing too much blood. You can't die here...
You refused to die here. You still need to find...
...
You found yourself before a bedroom... The wall to the right had collapsed, revealing the gathering bank of gray clouds outside...
And flying around... Were monsters...
Twisted and perverse in their forms, they were beings that no normal could describe with words. And fighting these monsters was a girl in green... Wielding her shining flail she desperately cried and yelled as she fought five of these beasts.
You were confused... Why...? How..?
And then you watched the girl kneel down and let out a wail. You felt your blood run cold as you watched another abomination leave her body and rise up to meet with its brethren...
Did that girl... Just turn into a monster..?
"The final fate of the beings known as Magical Girls. I have been awaiting your arrival."
Turning around, you locked gazes with an odd white animal... You could have tagged it as cute if it didn't bear the look of a half dead cat.
It's crimson eyes boring into yours...
"Soon... I will vanish. An unexpected Anomaly had spread throughout this universe and had terminated our Operations. This will be the last contract I shall be making..."
Behind you, the monsters had noticed your presence and had begun moving towards you. Their wicked claws, bent forms and twisted teeth gleaming... Violating the laws of reality with their very presence...
You were going to die...
"You are to die here according to the three thousand seven hundred and sixty five simualtions I have run. Only once did you have the chance to change the predetermined results..."
You swallowed the lump in your throat as you stepped away from the incoming beasts, the little white creature still speaking on your left as terror paralyzed your entire body...
"Now make a wish... And become a Magical Girl!"
Shutting your eyes and bracing yourself, you screamed...
