Your head swims as you fade in and out of darkness. You retch miserably, bringing up nothing but bile as you struggle to recall why this is happening again.
The effort nearly causes you to black out, but a small hand stops you from tipping over. You struggle up to a kneeling position with some difficulty, meeting the horrified eyes you knew would be waiting you.
Kaname Madoka, giving you a worried look. One identical to the look she'd given you when you first woke up. In a situation very much like this one, in fact.
Beside her is Miki Sayaka, again flinching back from you, again more cautious and suspicious of you.
Once again on Madoka's shoulder is the Incubator.
This isn't just some weird similarity, this is the same. You reach out for your awareness of magic, of grief, finding... nothing.
Your magic is gone.
You shake your head to dismiss the note of panic that arrives on the heels of that realization, while a detached part of your mind notes that you shook your head just like that the first time around.
No, you need to focus.
"--What do we do?"
Ah. Madoka. Worried. Of course she is, you were dying, after all. Are dying? What in the world happened? If you're really back here at the beginning...
Well, that means that Kyuubey is about to say--
"If you make a contract with me, you could heal her!"
--that. Right. You won't have any of that.
Mindful of Sayaka's previous defensiveness, you simply reach out to pull Kyuubey off of Madoka's shoulder, rather than quickly snatching the little monster. Madoka seems more worried somehow, and even Sayaka looks a little concerned. Probably because of the way your hand was shaking. Maybe because of how pale you are.
You cough first, tasting copper, then rasp out, "That won't be neccesary."
Holding Kyuubey by the neck once again, you bring it to eye level. Your magic is gone. That thought echoes around your head hollowly. Did you lose everything when you came back here? Did you lose your chance to fix things? You need to know. No matter how much pain you're in.
"What's my potential, Kyuubey?" you grit out.
You remember just in time that focusing on its face seemed to cause you problems before, but the raw fear that you've lost everything swirls around and around in your head, combining with your own dizziness.
You heave and retch again.
Ow.
That hurt a lot more than first time around. Probably because you didn't black out all the way this time. Small favors.
Madoka is rubbing your back soothingly. It doesn't exactly help.
Wiping at your chin, you focus on Kyuubey again. "Well?"
Kyuubey stays silent as Madoka uses a handkerchief to clean your face. Remembering what you saw before, you look over at her, and you're almost positive you can see her golden eyes, filled with concern. When Kyuubey replies, you blink, which snatches away the... hallucination?
"I can't tell. Your soul is... strange." Yep, he's still confused, but it's the same confusion. You're almost relieved.
Almost.
But something happened, something you know was terrible, even if you can't remember it. Something that tore you back to where you began. It tore away your magic and left you an ordinary girl again, left you dying again. There's a brief moment where you wonder if maybe that'd be for the best.
Screw that. Whatever happened before, you aren't going to just give up and die.
"Do I have the potential to become a Puella Magi?" You ask with quiet determination.
"It is possible, however there may be some risk for you," the Incubator answers reluctantly, tail flicking back and forth quickly.
Ah. So that's what that was. It was annoyed. It wanted to use you to snag Madoka. You almost want to smile at that. Deal with it, rat.
"Don't have much choice. Pretty sure I'm dying--" Your quip is interrupted by another heave and retch, and what comes up is rather red. You hear Madoka whimpering, and even Sayaka is sounding concerned.
Well then. Enough screwing around.

Yes, that's right folks, a recursive fanwork quest! Because Puella Magi Adfligo Systema just wasn't meta enough for me. If you don't know what PMAS is, you'll probably be very lost here, so go check it out! I've cleared this quest with Firnagzen, to make sure he's okay with someone making a work based on his. You know that thing Firnagzen said about that quote on acting versus reacting?
You're all welcome to use all the same sort of meta-knowledge and reasoning as you use in PMAS. In fact, Sabrina will be remembering events from over there as it's updated, making it even more meta than before. I feel very much the same way as he does about it.
This quest is going to be an open mystery -- you're going to need to find out what went wrong over in PMAS to keep it from happening again here. Which is going to be rather tricky for everyone, because it hasn't exactly happened over there yet. This version of Sabrina has already lost once.
However, this quest is not part of the same continuity as Puella Magi Adfligo Systema. While things that happen over there will affect what this Sabrina remembers over here, things that happen here will have no bearing on things that happen over there. Between butterflies from Sabrina's altered actions and variation between timelines, there's going to be plenty of room for differences in events. But I'll play fair with you guys, so until and unless you make big changes, Sabrina is going to have an advantage in foreknowledge. Can you learn from the mistakes that were made?
Then again, Oriko is the initial antagonist all over again, so that advantage isn't exactly absolute, is it? While avoiding new, worse mistakes?
The same rules given at the beginning of PMAS apply to the wish made here. You can't make a story-ending wish, nor can you make a setting-changing wish. Your wish can be very powerful, but it can't render the quest irrelevant. Additionally, you can't make a wish that directly interacts with the original quest. Can you break this system and save your friends?
Now, some of the very early parts of this quest will be fairly similar to the original due to the starting conditions. Unless you, the players, decide to make the same decisions though, that won't stay the case for very long at all. You see, I've never tried to run a quest before, and my writing is rather rough. That's why I'm going with a story that lets me borrow from others so much early on. I'm hoping that this quest will be able to stand on its own eventually, though, and that maybe my writing skills will improve with the feedback I get here. Heck, who knows, maybe we'll even have some fun. Or has Sabrina found herself trapped in an endless maze of her own?
Let's find out, shall we?
Omake Policy: I'm only going to link to decent sized pieces of prose, or other substantial things. You guys have way too many silly little asides for me to keep up with linking them all, and Firnagzen is a madman for doing that in PMAS.
Actually, assuming our potential here is as great as ever, could we instead wish for power over all emotions, up to and including grief - and thus become a Magical Girl therapist? For Witches?

Wishing to be able to turn witches back into magical girls would work just fine, even restore their soul gems perfectly clean. But infinite magic would be a separate clause, and the rule about multi-clause lawyer wishes is still in effect.
The thing is that we don't want to be too powerful to the point we need a seed a day or something, but at the same time we do need that power. The previous Sabrina's grief control was great for that, but I don't want to retread old ground...
Let's wish for the power to cleanse and purify anything. Be it Soul Gems, negative emotions, or dirty laundry - we'll clean it all and leave it sparkling!
I just want to note here that we're approaching this in a very Munchkin sort of way - wishing for power. Remember, nobody in the actual series wished for a power! The approach is actually sort of an end run around the Wish system - you're supposed to wish for a change you want, and then you get a power themed after that change. (That's why in the other thread some people were speculating that we had a power that we didn't know about, because we got a power from the wish but we didn't get a power themed after the wish.)
So, here's my wish.
[x] I wish for absolutely everything to get a little better, to the extent that my potential allows.
Mainly because I really wanna see what power that results in. But also because imagine how the universe would look like if everybody made that wish.
[edit] Oh, except Madoka and Homura, I just realized. But both of them wished for an "open-ended ability" more than anything else, and still got a separate power in the bargain (Madoka's arrows, Homura's timestop). Neither of them forced the Wish system into a specific implementation.
As the tech support people put it, say what you want, not what you think you need.
I propose Wishing for the ability to undo Witch-outs.
Way to deal with the Witchbomb, eh?
There's also the 'Sorceress' idea, with the same objective; add another step into the Witch lifecycle whereas the Witch recovers her sanity and meguca memories, and probably her human body (kind of the Witches in the Law of Madoka?)... Or just cut out the 'Witch' part altogether.
Any way, we should remember what's most important:
Sabrina's Guide to Meguca-ing.
Written by Sabrina.
"I'm a terrible Senpai."
Step 1: Wish good.
Most would-be megucas are usually obsessed with some problem or another, which causes them to waste their wish on something that could be resolved in many others, cheaper ways.
Don't!
This is your one shot at unlimited power. Or your only chance to troll the system. Either way, you shouldn't waste it.
On one hand, i'd like to participate, on other hand there are 2k pages of discussions and stuff which I probably Need to read in order to participate properly.

You're more than welcome to participate either way. And if the size of the main thread for PMAS is daunting, you could always just read the Story-Only Thread.
Ok, acting verses reacting, the first second thing we need to do is find Oriko. We have several hours before she contracts and we know where she lives, if we get to her first and make a good impression we might be able to skip hunting her down to beat some sense into her.
- Nagisa's mom might be alive still.
- Oriko might be uncontracted, so... easier to deal with. Doubt it, but worth a shot.
- That lady Gertrud killed is still alive, we shouldn't dilly-dally with training.

Do keep in mind the opportunity costs that your actions will bear, and that sometimes seemingly insignificant things are a lot more important than they appear.
I'm not saying you should or shouldn't do that, just that you should be aware of what it might mean.
I do follow the story-thread, it's just I get the impression what systema-quests have a whole lot of important discussion bits what you need to be aware of before walking in and participating.

Might want to consider a different approach to things.
Instead of pretending we don't know anyone, we could... pretend we're a friend of Homura? She's right around the corner, more or less. Would require some quick talking with someone who's more likely to shoot us than help us...
Oh, and totally should deal with Oriko by way of going up to her and hugging her into compliance. Or should go grab Kirika, take her to Oriko, throw them one atop the other and tell them to cut the crap, they're perfect for each other.
I personally wouldn't mind a gamer-esque ability to grow and adapt over time, but considering what ppl seems to have plans which require actions and actual not-inconsiderable power right now, I am not sure if that is wise to pick a wish which will result in starting at amateur-ish puella level. If that of wish is actually viable?..
Other than that, grief-control was a pretty goddamn great wish; I really wouldn't mind if we fall back on it.
