We could only have three, Madoka only has 18 HP, and Reflect is better than tanking. Additionally, Abilities are always helpful, and Magi Gift is likely a magic-type Ability. Plus we don't know the common element of our upcoming foes or the Boss. Besides, dodging like crazy is half the winning strategy of Kingdom Hearts. The other half is spamming Cure, but we don't have that yet.
Though the other half of my vote is hoping the Moogle will mention Madoka can sell things. Doesn't appear a natural way for Madoka to ask, and learning what Synthesis items are unlocked is important.

"Moogles are Moogles, just as kupo is kupo. We buy things, we sell things, we synthesize things, just about anywhere, even in the most secret or remote places you can find a Moogle with a shop ready to serve their customers, kupo. Some bravely venture out in person for a physical store, other use holographic emitters and matter transporters to conduct business remotely. I'm probably the first Moogle to get to this neck of the woods in a really long while, but before you know it, there'll be a Moogle shop in just about every town around here kupo. As for synthesis it's an ancient art practiced by Moogles where raw magic crystals are used to produce all sorts of stuff, jewelry, armor, medicine, even weapons, kupo. If you bring in the materials for an item we'll make it for you for only a small service fee kupo. Oh, if you ever buy or make more than you can carry we can ship your items wherever you like free of charge kupo. Also, if you ever find any long lost synthesis recipes there is a reward if you turn them in and you can use them yourself kupo."
Sayaka comes running up beside you. "Madoka! You've gotta help me, there's someone in danger crying out and we're their only hope!
Without hesitation you nod, "Where are they?"
With that, Sayaka starts leading you to the wing of the mall currently under renovation. Though one set of doors, it's as if you are in a totally different building, the whole area is dark, the walls are barren, and for some reason you can just barely hear the clanking of chains. Your companion leads you deeper in, stopping occasionally as if listening for something before making a turn. You go on for a bit before it happens, a cloud of black butterflies pass over you and suddenly it is as if you have entered a whole different world. The ceiling is replaced with a dark sky dotted with paper cutouts of glaring people in trench coats and windows, fences that look like they were drawn by a child spring up from the ground, trees draped in chains and barbed wire appear were walls once stood.
"WHAT the!? Are you seeing this too!?" Sayaka shouts.
"Y-yeah, there's something really wrong with this place…" You trail off as you see something emerging from the ground. First you see the head, a giant cotton ball with a drawn on mustache and mouth and a pair of stitched Xs for eyes, the arms and torso are the bodies of insects, and finally the legs is a giant butterfly. There has to be dozens of them and they are encircling you.
Sayaka clings to you in a panic. "This has to be joke, right? I mean it's got to be some bad dream we're both having, right?" Right Madoka!"
You have to do something. You have to protect Sayaka. You have to fight! You reach for the power you felt in your dream. A shining light appears in your hand and then it shatters into thousands of motes of light, revealing a weapon. The grip looks like it's made out of interwoven leaves, an oval guard of twisting lace-like gold circles the whole way around the grip, a wooden shaft, about half as long as you are tall, extends from the guard, and three pink gems jut out of one side near the end of the shaft. Something hits against your leg, a pink ribbon keychain attached to the bottom of the guard.

This place is dangerous, if you make the wrong move then Sayaka might die, and you might die. First things first, you have to protect Sayaka, you might have this sword-key thing but she doesn't have anything. If this place is anything like your dream then there's an even bigger monster waiting deeper in so running away isn't an option. You take a step forward, and your grip tightens on the sword, Tranquil Rose, something deep inside you whispers, and fall into a natural stance. "This is going to sound, no it really is just stupid, but I'm going to try and draw their attention. I need you to watch my back and to shout when they attack you." She doesn't say anything but she is close enough for you to hear her nervously swallow and nod. You take another step forward and brandish your weapon at the monsters. "Hey, you you stupidheads! Come at me!"
A giggle echoes from the ring of monsters as four slowly walk towards you. The first blasts off like a rocket flinging itself at you, reflect's barrier stops and the burst of light catches the second one right behind it, but the third behind the second, manages to hit you.

A pair of scissors on a vine of barbed wire extends from the fourth, a pair of swings block the attack and sever the vine. And a third slash causes the creature to shatter in the wind.

"Duck!" Sayaka shouts. And you duck just in time for another one entering the fray to pass right over you. Quick as a flash you lash out twice as it passes over you. More of them are turning their attention to you and you've lost track of what ones you've already hit. But at the same time you start to fall into a rhythm of fighting, dodging, ducking, slashing, and soon three more of the creatures have fallen.

You are forced to use a pair of reflects one after the other when the creatures attempt a continuous barrage of their rocket attacks, that's when Sayaka screams, you get hit but you barely care.

A chain lies wrapped around her feet as she lies sprawled the ground, before your eyes two pairs of scissors shoot from the creatures. You move with a speed you didn't think was possible and block both with the guard and tip of your blade. Two at once is more of a struggle until suddenly the report of a cannon and the bang of gunfire echoes throughout the twisted place and all of the creatures are destroyed. Homura lands beside you with a pair of smoking pistols and wearing the dress from your dream. The world then fades back into normalcy.
"That was quite the pinch, but everything is going to be all right now!" A girl exclaims from behind you. She's blonde with her hair done in twin coiled tails, her outfit stands out just as much as Homura's, riding boots, a short yellow skirt, a corset on top of a fine white shirt, a pair of detached sleeves, and topped with a feathered cap with a golden flower with an amber jewel. Beside her floats a fancy silver and gold cannon.
"Why," Sayaka shouts, "did we just get saved by a pair of cosplayers with guns? What in the world is going on here! Wait, is that the transfer student?"
"The two of you, stumbled into a Witch's labyrinth and the things Kaname Madoka fought were its familiars." Homura answers.
The blonde girl has been staring at you, no at Tranquil Rose, as if in a trance. "Hm, a Keyblade."
"A Keyblade?" Everyone else echoes. There is confusion on Sayaka's and shockingly on Homura's voices but for some reason the name feels right to you.
The blonde girl shakes her head and her eyes come back into focus "Oh! I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me." She pauses as if someone else was speaking to her and then in a flash of light her clothes transforms into your school's uniform. "I am Tomoe Mami a third year student at Mitakihara middle school. I think you were trying to help a friend of mine, and have suffered a traumatic experience for it. Would you mind if I make it up to you with some cake?" Her gaze drifts over to Homura. "It would also be nice to get to know the new Magical Girl in the area."
Sayaka opens her mouth to respond, when Homura's hand brushes against yours and the whole world is frozen in time.
You look around and see Homura adjusting something on the shield hanging from her arm. "Did you do this Homura? It's so amazing!"
"It has its uses. Ahem. Tomoe Mami is not someone it is wise to associate closely with. Miki Sayaka's acceptance of her ideals and subsequent becoming a Magical Girl will certainly lead to her death."
"She doesn't seem like that kind of person."
"She isn't, it is Miki Sayaka's own self that will seal her fate. Furthermore, Tome Mami was acting unusual when she saw your blade I don't know how she might react to it with further exposure."
"Keyblade, she had the right name I can feel it. And I didn't have it in the past or um the future?"
"No"
"And Mami was a friend before?"
Homura responds with much more reluctance, "Yes, she was a good friend and mentor to both of us."
"Could you restart time, I think I've made a decision."

I kind of want Madoka to ask about the "boss monster", but she lost nearly half her health against the mooks. Doping up on Stat Boosters and getting Shiny (Key) Items is the only way. Unless... Madoka can form a party and let Homura and/or Mami carry her. Hmm, any way to unlock EXP Walker or similar?
