Except Kyubey has shown sentience and the ability to talk, something the Devil's Rats never had. He's clearly not standard for the Devil's Rats.
Granted. This does not mean that he's trustworthy, though. If anything, it makes him potentially more dangerous as a spy.

Also, the Devil has yet to awaken as the devil. We're trying to stop it from coming into existence.
We know that we were sent to "before she became the Devil", but we do not know whether or not the Devil's Rats report to her. She doesn't have ultimate power now, sure, but that doesn't mean that she's without spies.

And OOC, Kyubey would likely be a very useful ally against Homurcifer if we explain the situation properly, since she apparently grabbed the whole universe, enslaved the incubators as mindless animals, turned part of Earth into a paradise, and left the rest of the universe to rot.
Perhaps. But if you're talking about OOC knowledge, then Tatsuya would be also be adamantly opposed to beings who plan to turn his sister into a witch which destroys the solar system. IC or OOC, Kyuubey is not trustworthy.

Closest thing we have to trust with Kyubey is a) Exact wording, and b) He will try to get Madoka to witch out faster than you can say 'Thats no moon...'

[X] Tell them…
-[X] That you're from the future
-[X] That you're Madoka's brother.
-[X] That you can't remember much detail.

This SHOULD work out well enough. Just enough for them to trust us more, but not enough to endanger the mission.

Guys, don't you think that telling Madoka we are her brother without having enough of our memories back would actually backfire?

Madoka, I am your brother.

No, that's not true. That's impossible!

Search your feelings. You know it to be true!

I don't say we shouldn't tell her ever, we should do it when the time is right like if we ever confront Homura and she says everything, then we can use this bit of information to gain the high ground.

We're admitting we don't have all our memories. More likely to backfire if people think we were hiding it. Being her brother gives her reason to trust us (we can consent to a blood test if they really want) and explains our name and being from the future.

We don't want Madoka to angst about us, or how would you take it if your baby brother becomes an embittered Devil Hunter in the future?

[x] Tell them…
-[x] That you're from the future.
-[x] That you made a deal for power.
-[x] That you're hunting the Devil.
-[x] Not much else to say about me
-[x] Ask Kyuubey what does he mean with his magic not being typical.

I dislike this vote, but it seems to have the most support of the votes that aren't full YOLO. This is only about 80% YOLO.

Why don't you come up with your own vote and explain why it isn't "YOLO" in order to get more people to vote for it?

Also, is YOLO even the correct term here? You're using it as if the word means stupid, when I'm pretty sure You Only Live Once is actually a justification for stupidity, not a synonym for stupid.

Welcome to Quests 101. First rule: if people use phrases like "until the time is right", this actually means "never ever ever, unless not doing so will result in an obvious and immediate demise."

Quests tend to become exceedingly focused on short-term projects. If we don't say it now, we won't say it all, because we'll be constantly sidetracked by more current events.

That's the thing, I'm working with what I got. Thanks to the magic of time-zones, I'm here rather late and with such a subjective vote it's difficult to convince people to change their vote. So I'm voting for what I consider least bad but maintains a large level of voter support. The alternative would be to vote for "don't remember much", but I'm not a massive fan of that either.

I couldn't think of a better one, and while I disapprove of the idea of revealing we're her brother (for now, but quite possibly for a rather long time to come) it's not actually stupid. Saying that would be unfair, I feel.

Risky, maybe? It uses our resource of "the reveal" for an immediate gain instead of holding it in reserve for future use.

Another word that would work is unreserved.

We aren't opening a savings account here. There's no benefit in lying to everyone and then, presumably right after things start going to hell, going "Psych! Here's what's really been going on..."

All we accomplish by withholding the truth is increasing the odds of invoking Poor Communication Kills and making the quest less interesting.

Remember that trope works both ways, we could also say something inappropiate and end up with a similar result.

We seriously have no reason not to tell everyone, except MAYBE Kyubey, but he's gonna find out eventually if he's allowed to observe us. We can't lock him out like Sabrina, and it's better to make him shoot his load early because it could fuck over a Madoka contract.

Also, if Madoka worries about us (which she'd do ANYWAY), we can just say "If we fix the timeline I'll return to a better future."

@AuraTwilight
No disrespect, but we could also end up with Madoka wishing to fix the timeline for us if she finds out her family will be in immediate danger.

The less the sense of urgency the better.

And in case we do tell her we are her brother, we would have to make her swear she won't do anything unless absolutely necessary.
