Puella Magi Aemulator Labyrinthum

Five familiars roll down the corridor, engines revving, at high speed, two from behind and three from the front. They're not rust familiars, however. They're wheels, but not Oktavia-style wooden wheels. They're upscaled motorcycle wheels, with large, wide, spiked tires and a pair of exhaust pipes each. They barrel down the corridor, bearing down on the party of magical girls intruding on their home, poised to meet each other in the center of your group.

Also, three mortar turrets deploy from the ceiling and open fire with globs of metal dust at you.

"Aaaaaah!" I scream. "They're everywhere!"

I hold out a hand and try to magically blast one of the turrets. If that doesn't work, I start throwing charged swords randomly.

Okay, the sentiment is understandable, but did she have to scream it? Really?

I turn and heft my weapon, throwing it like a javelin toward one of the familars approaching from behind, and immediately summon another to replace it.

I just twitch fueguchi one so its bladed edge obstructs the entire front of the corridor, ready for wheels to run into and damage themselves.

The magic blast idea fails. Instead, you end up charging and throwing 5 swords all around you, two of which miss entirely, one of which nearly hits an ally, and two of which score a blow on the turrets. Two of the turrets take some damage as a result, slowing them down, but they are still operational. Also, have you dodged the shots of the turrets? (172/1000)

Your thrown swordstaff hits one of the familiars, dealing damage. It wobbles and slows down, but it is still heading towards you. You summon another one afterwards. You may have taken splash damage from the turrets. (10/1000)

Your weapon acts as a bladed wall in front of you, causing the wheels in front to collide with it and try to grind through the blade, taking damage in the process. The wheels behind you are still moving quickly, though, and they're very close. The turrets continue firing globs of metal dust.

Your weapon won't last forever. The grinding wheels can eventually force your blade to retract. The collision also damages the blade. (15/1000)

I spun around quick as I searched for threats from behind. From my position in the back of the group, the odds of getting hit seemed low. The threat from the girls up front seemed to be able to keep their attention.

With a grimace, I readied my weapons. Like an Olympic hammer thrower, I spun in place, and then tossed one ring, over the heads of my frontline, and sent it hurling towards one of the turrets spouting globs of dust.

I hiss slightly as a bit of metal dust from the turrets hits exposed skin, rather than plate armor. The hiss morphs into a growl as I see the familiar I targeted basically ignore my thrown swordstaff.

Fuck it, I have a melee weapon, In in full plate armor, I'm gonna fucking stab it.

I charge forward along the right wall and try to stab the familiar I threw at in the side.

No, I didn't.

"Ouch!" I step back. "That didn't work as well as I hoped. Well done on the wall though. I'll try help."

I run forward, charging a sword. I try stabbing through the gaps in the wall. I also press a hand against fueguchi one and try to charge it as well.

I threw my morningstar against the Blade grinding at Rize, aiming for its center.
It bounces off against the rapidly rotating spiked wheel, but it does deal some damage.

It hits the only undamaged turret among them. Said turret is slowed down, but is still operational.

You deal much more damage than attacking it from the front, causing it to wobble more and drift. You also jam the blade in a rapidly rotating object as a result, and you happen to be holding said weapon.

Stabbing through the gaps does deal some damage. Charging the Fueguchi One, however, made the bladed wall sharper and more durable. As a result, the wheels in front are now very close to killing themselves trying to get through. (197/1000)

One familiar behind is busy trying to deal with Yuki, while the other familiar behind is about to hit Rize, who is busy maintaining the wall. The turrets continue to fire away. Who were able to dodge?

Seeing the other familiar coming for me, I flick my arm causing Fueguchi one to whip backwards, throwing the wheels along with it. Crossing my arms over themselves, Fueguchi One folds itself so its flat edge batted away the turrets shots, even as it scythed through the air, aiming to bisect the familiar attacking me.

I'm behind the wall, so I guess I'm safe and managed to avoid the attack?

I continue stabbing through the gaps.

More stabs, more damage.

The thrown wheels break apart into pieces upon hitting the ground.

The incoming familiar gets slammed into the wall, breaking into two. Due to inertia and rebound, however, both halves are now projectiles heading towards you. (20/1000)

The turrets continue to attack, while the remaining familiar is busy spinning around and dealing with Yuki.

I gripped the weapon with both hand while charging it with magic, causing it to burst into flame. With an overly dramatic roar, I charged at the one attacking Yuki, morningstar ready to crush.

I create a second charged sword and run screaming at the final familiar, smashing both swords over it.

The spinning nearly rips my weapon from my hands, but I clamp down firmly, bracing myself and refusing to let it move.
"Hold. The fuck. Still." I growl.

I quickly flick Fueguchi One up into the ceiling, retracting it to pull myself upwards. Using the momentum and the anchor that Fueguchi One provided, I swung forward and kicked at one of the turrets.

While the familiar resists Yuki's valiant attempt to restrain it, Jessica attacks from the left with both charged swords while Joey attacks from the right with the flaming morningstar. The result is a wheel which explodes in a blast. Considering that you were all beside said familiar...

You manage to avoid the two halves of the wheel, and destroy the turret, but not before it fires a glob of metal dust at you right before you kick it. (25/1000)

The remaining two turrets continue to fire away.

I grunt in pain as the familiar violently explodes and tosses me against the wall. My armor protected me from some of it, but it could only do so much.

The pain spikes and I instinctively flex my magic.

"Ouch!" I step back. "Grrrr! These things are annoying!" I throw my swords at the nearest turret.

I pull Fueguchi One from its point in the ceiling, and swing it around me in a circle, chopping the turrets from the ceiling. Dismissing it as I fell, I gently land on my feet, sketching a half bow.

You find yourself instantly standing a few steps away, good as new. You look back, and see an image of your injured self fade away, like an illusion. (30/2000)

Both turrets are destroyed. (Rize: 30/1000)

I groaned, stumbling back from the explosion.
"You know, Will every thing we fight in the future is going to explode? Because the novelty of having rusty shrapnels blasted in my face is wearing thin."

"And that is why I'm a ranged melee combatant. No exploding. Now, are we going to kill this with witch, or will there be more senseless bickering? We can wait till after, at least."
