Wait, so does that mean we could vote for both History and Philosophy, for example, or is it still 'only choose one'?
You can vote for both and get them both at level 1.
Nothing here seems Crystal specific. Just an all around upgrade to what we already had, nothing new. Was that because of the low trait confirmation roll?

Also, just for my curiosity, what would our magical aura be like if we hadn't learned to suppress it?

That... seems like it could be a problem. Given that we're a 10 year old kid living on his own, mom no where to be found, in a pretty rundown shack.

Edit:

I'm PRETTY sure that we can't do Potions, given that isn't a muggle subject we could have been learning.

The bonus includes the Advisor as well. And yeah the low roll did not help. Your aura is off the charts now. Severus will probably blind most people now, at full strength.

And yes, muggle subjects only.
That's one thing that has been bothering me.

Like the Write-in Doesn't seem to be under.

And the wordings itself don't say that it needs to be a muggle subject.

@Divine Oblivion Does the subjects for write-in need to be Non-Magical Subjects?

Muggle subjects only please.

hey anybody think we should use our reroll on the trait conformation roll? I am curious what we may get if we roll well on it.

The Advisor ALSO isn't Crystal specific. We'd have gotten him regardless. Feels vaguely like we wasted the Crystal thanks to that roll, and we'd have gotten the exact same result from either of the other two apples.

Blind them literally? Or just blind their magic sense? What would people feel, exactly, if we let it out full blast?
everyone did though.
They used the re-roll for martial action, I reckon.
That is correct, we didn't want to lose our MA Teacher. We didn't know we were going to get a Dragon to teach us instead.

so the dragon stated we will explode if will eat another apple. is that a permeant thing or do we just have to wait a few years until the next one

The crystal specific bonus provides the mechanical benefit of making you capable of learning whatever branch of magic you like. So if you CRIT roll well enough, you might even be able to pick up on legacy magics or other internal magics. On the other hand, Metallic would have give you some sort of spell resistance.

Blague is gonna be a secret. Maybe this might have led to a different storyline and a lot of other unexpected developments. Who knows? Maybe it might even be a dud.

It would blind their senses, and not their vision. It's not gonna physically manifest unless you use Transcendence, at which point, Severus will become something of a beacon. Metaphorically and literally. Nothing too bright though, just enough to be mildly uncomfortable. And very easy to get used to.

While it has not been overtly stated clearly, there have been people who have managed to eat an apple before. Two apples on the other hand, will definitely provide you the potential to become a long lost legend. So old and ancient that their records do not even exist now. It's all mythological as far as you know.

Three has never been achieved as far as you know.

So yeah, the third one is gonna be hard to digest. It won't merely involve waiting a few years to grow up. Keep in mind, you guys got insanely lucky with the rolls to get the second one. The third one's way harder. Finding it would have been the easiest part. Consuming it on the other hand, would definitely be trickier.

He did say at our current state we would explode. That doesn't mean we can't grow into it. Though I fear what would happen if we ate 4 or 5.

I'm not too concerned over the 6, mostly as there is a chance that we might have to discover the trait the crystal-fruit gave rather then having an instinctive understanding of it. Alternatively, it could be a more subtle thing that won't apply until a bit later when we are casting magic or some-such.

I do find the idea of Snape being the Muggle Super!Science prodigy amusing all things considered.

The trait it gave was "Learn any magic", even magics that would otherwise be blood-restricted or something
