[x] Move to intercept one of the roars moving towards the battlefield.

I do want to help out Alric. Unfortunately, those reinforcements could definitely turn the tide in favor of the Beastmen if they aren't intercepted. If we have to flee from these guys we're almost certainly dead, so alas, Alric will have to fend for himself.

[X] Charge the bejeweled Minotaur.
We are one gal, we have no AOE and almost no CC seems like we are more bent towards dueling then taking out the grunts.
In short we are more of anti hero unit then a mob grinder, At least from a abstract perspective.

We need to finish the thing in font of us so we can turn and deal with the reinforcements otherwise we risk being defeated in detail.

Also more proof that we have some kind of arcane gift: Something is felt.

That is going to be very helpful when we do alchemy since it means we won't be mixing things blind.

[X] Hang back and shoot at the bejewled minotaur

To be able to do any engineering with the knowledge we've gathered, we have to survive this encounter first. This is Warhammer one bad roll and that thing will kill us or at least badly cripple us, actually I don't know which is worse in this situation.

Just a quick reminder that our character is a street rat who was accepted into the engineering school.
Then she was falsely accused and thrown out.

This is her first battle and she is a sixteen year old human girl.
Charging against a minotaur is reckless, even if she is only seriously wounded, the quest is probably lost.

Still, gromdottir is a repeater, so we should be able to do a reasonable amount of damage to any mooks foolish enough to do battle with us.

So you want us to fire into a melee, risking Alric's life instead? If he dies due to friendly fire the Wardens will rout. If the Wardens rout than we'll probably have to find our way back on our own while being chased by hostile Beastmen. In other words, certain death.

A Minotaur is no small target.
But if you think that's the decision, I would rather risk Alric's life than be seriously injured.
Even if this means we have a better chance of winning the battle, we are still gg if we lose an arm.
There are no good decisions here just bad and not so bad ones. This is where I stand.

Thing is if Alric dies there's a good chance that we're next up, especially if we actually hit the minotaur. Then it really is gg.

We are once again in a situation that exceeds our abilities. We have less experience here than even the simplest spearmen and even veterans are slaughtered.
In my opinion, the possibility of us getting within close combat range of this thing and being seriously wounded is greater than causing a defeat through a missed shot. But even if that's the case, we have to use the only ability we've trained and can now use: running... (even if it's not enough, it's a further check that we can only make if we're unhurt).

Apart from that, if I had known beforehand that we would skip the tutorial fight and go straight to the boss fight, I would have been against this action. What would have happened if we went alone? Where are the 3 Ungor spearmen that I expected as enemies? If we do this ever again (and I'm not sure we should), we will need more preparation time. (of course this only matters if we get out of here in one piece)

The thing is we are in the woods fighting beastmen, what we might have done is irrelevant, we win or we die.

It's not irrelevant. We've had discussions here in the past about Steam technology, which is far beyond our reach. These discussions weren't about the decisions we had at the time, but that doesn't make them irrelevant. It's not really about what we should have done or what we shouldn't have done, but rather what we will do in the future.

It's about not underestimating ??? difficulties (if we risk our lives) and getting into a similar situation again.
We should learn from this, that's what I'm talking about.

Going into the woods in Warhammer risks death. This is true and widely known in general, nevermind looking for beastmen. Personally I understood the chance of sudden death just fine, I just thought it was worth it.

It's all about the difficulty level. There is a difference between being in the second line of danger and providing fire support and charging against minotaurs. I mean the MC is an engineer with no combat training, is it really understandable to expect a heroic moment?

We are in a forest fighting beastmen. If we do not win here we will simply die. Margret does not have the skills to make it out alive if the battle goes badly hence it makes sense to take the high risk option, because she is dead anyway otherwise, it just takes slightly longer.
