Petals of Titanium -- My Life as a Mecha Setting Bridge Bunny Quest

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
But after this, we will have to put in some time in decoding that information. We missed the chance of rushing it by socializing, but we won't have the excuse next time.

You know you'll be spending a significant amount of time on this project, and you've already made some plans. In addition to getting caught up on some much needed sleep, what else in particular do you want to do over the next week?

We're going to be working on it regardless. Yeah, we can't spend literally all our time on it this way, so it won't be done quite as quickly, but we are putting in some time working on it.

[X] Find where the civilians were taken in, to check up on Faiza (one downtime)

Tiny Stark needs our help. What if she falls in with the wrong crowd and descends into a lifetime of alcoholism and womanizing? It could happen, easily! Her parents are DEAAAAD!

Yeah, the poor girl is an orphan and the people who provided some measure stability were the engineering crew and North. Not sure how many of them survived, or if they are in a position to look after the girl. And it just feels like something do-goody North would do.

But after this, we will have to put in some time in decoding that information. We missed the chance of rushing it by socializing, but we won't have the excuse next time.

e: I am also anxious on how the sisters will react to each other. Beyond the initial disbelief/happiness, it won't be smooth sailing: The sis imbibed that zealotry, and grew up hating the mother, that will not be easy to change. At the same time she was part of an attack that inflicted a not insignificant amount of suffering to North and her friends, even if you discount the very real possibility of her blowing up the Rose. And they're also enlisted in enemy navies. It is going to be a clusterfuck.
Honestly it might not have been a great idea to rush it even if the route hadn't be closed off already; using meta-knowledge (and even just having North assume Owusu's paranoia is not unfounded) any enemy agent paying special attention to Owusu's activity is going to pay some attention to his meetings. Odd behavior on the part of North is the sort of thing that, and uncovering the plot to infiltrate, is the sort of thing that narratively seems likely to lead to a kidnapping scenario; overeager and inexperienced technical expert uncovering plot and then needing to be rescued. But that's harder to kick off if we only uncover the infiltration/double agent late into whatever is going on, that seems more likely to kick off some chase scenes, desperate attempts to find the infiltrators before they can disappear, or even a confrontation with a long-lost and suddenly rediscovered sister caught on the wrong side of the war.

Or maybe we'll only be able to get a head start in tracking down Mosi and the other infiltrators rather than heading off whatever plot is going on. The quest relies on but does not seem to be beholden to the sort of tropes of its nominal setting.

[X] Find where the civilians were taken in, to check up on Faiza (one downtime)

As far as the current choices go this seems like the most interesting, and the one best suited for North as a character.

Another reason to follow up on Faiza: with Ito dead, she's the most likely candidate for the new protagonist.

[X] Gather information on what sort of mission your mother was sent on, even though you can't affect the outcome (one downtime)

[X] See if you can find where J6 is staying (one downtime)

J6 needs attention too! What if she forget to take her pills? Or her other pills? Or her other other pills?

Agree.
At best, I expect sis asks us to defect and join her in service of Divine Majesty.
At worst, we'll be added to her kill list right after Mom.

Wow, talk about a landslide :p

In this case, most of the point a to point b prose is also describing this kind of distinctive space station design and how one moves around in it. In the future I will be able to say "you boarded the carriage up to the spaceport" and you know what that means, as long as you're all aware of the environment that you're moving around in. Frankly, one of my biggest weaknesses as a writer is a lack of patience with this sort of nuts and bolts scene setting and environmental description compared to just writing fun dialogue like it's taking place in a vacuum. Even when (especially when, more like) I'm dealing with something more mundane than a semi-novel space station design. Like, that's not me fishing for compliments, that's just legitimately something I'm trying to work on over time.
Oh, it wasn't a complaint. I quite enjoyed the attention to detail and getting to know the look and feel of the environment we'll be spending the next few posts in. As long as you're aware of when to expound and when to economize - and the quest has been pretty good about this so far - all will be well.

As for the rest, it is sadly all too relatable. If only those snippets of fun dialogue could carry the rest of the work.

I have been swayed by the "obligation" points mentioned earlier, otherwise I'd go for J6.
