It's at this point you become abruptly certain that these two are, to put it succinctly, fucking.

You're in August company, Kana. Somehow, many Jays always end up in the vicinity of very important people.
*wiggles eyebrows*

... And you'd guessed it down to the right moon before.

The right moon, how very impressive, Kana.

"I am going to need to have a talk with my brother," she says.

"Have you no fucking taste at all, brother?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Look at Ari, now look at her. Do I need to say anything else?"

[X] A misunderstanding

[x] A hidden agenda makes things complicated

Sounds the least likely to end up in a gunfight to me

[X] A hidden agenda makes things complicated

What kind of self-respecting secret council meeting doesn't have a hidden agenda to deal with?

[X] A hidden agenda makes things complicated

We're dealing with multiple Intelligence Agencies. There is always at least two hidden agendas.
On each side.

"Have you no fucking taste at all, brother?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Look at Ari, now look at her. Do I need to say anything else?"

It's so very funny that she apparently has some Very Strong Opinions on the quality of pilot her brother is allowed to date. She only got really teeved off on us for the hull-cracker thing, talking to SRI or being a Kana didn't get such a strong reaction from her, or mentioning we were sleeping with Jay.

Although with the chapter opening snippet, I get the feeling that Jay actually is pretty used to playing 'I am a going to find the worst person and enable every one of her bad habits to point her at people I don't like' role, which might explain part of his attraction to Kana.

[x] A hidden agenda makes things complicated

This sounds both the most compelling as a plot point and the least likely to get lethal. Only time will tell.

[X] Old grievances flare up

I like to imagine that picking this option means that the hidden agenda doesn't complicate things at all.

your least offensive smile
You muster up all your reserves of charisma
Ouch. Be careful you don't sprain anything there P.G..
You flash North
an insolent sort of smirk
Aah yes, back to comfortable normality.
[ ] A misunderstanding

Well I don't much care for the "communication kills" thing, and, ehh, I think I would rather explore the actors we have rather than bring in new plots, so imma
