Battle with the Beast Part 1
The Battle with the Beast part 1

As the Beast stands roaring out its challenge your people are able to see what damage has been done to it by the traps, laid by the infiltration team.

Traps prepared in haste: 76-10(sheer mass): 66

The traps have done a reasonable amount of damage, but about as much as could be hoped. Great tears litter its massive hide and burn marks pockmark its body, yet despite this the wounds are healing, sealing in time with the beasts great gulps of air.

The vanguard of light: 84+5 (Vindicators of the Hand)= 89

Not only are the strike team ready springing to man the walls of the barricade so too do most of the Hand of Argus and the battle mages there, leaping to the walls, spells boiling in their hands.

The Charging Hunger: 46

The Arcane Battalion: 78

With a final scream the beast charges moving at incomprehensible speeds charging towards the barricade, but the mages are there, firing spells forgoing the more common arcane spells, instead freezing and burning portions of the beast, or in some cases both, but still it is not enough to stop it, as it sloughs off the wounded portions and continues on, raging.

Impact: 59

The beast collides with the barriers, experimental arcane devices that were not meant for this kind of punishment, their mechanisms groan, spark, some overload, but they hold, keeping the beast back, despite the shock wave that comes from the bulk of the beast crashing into the wall.

As the vindicators pull themselves together Vindicator Boros comes to a descision.

Current situation:

Beast: Damaged Frost and Fire damage combined with the traps have taken their toll, but the beast is healing albeit slowly.

Allies
50 vindicators and 25 battle mages trained to fight the Beast
100 vindicators and 50 battle mages ready to fight the beast
Barrier fields damaged and nearly inoperable
50 vindicators and 25 battle mages confused
Unknown reinforcements in coming

[] Sally forth: The beast has confirmed tunneling abilities, and your barriers do not extend underground. You have a task force trained to engage with the beast, support from the walls and reinforcements close at hand, you can move forth and engage with the beast. Strike it down before it escapes.

[] Remain on the walls: The risk is too great, if you sally forth and the beast wins it will have free reign to rampage until the Prophet or Nobundo stops it, stay on the walls, keep it there, harass it with fire and draw its attention and save keep your men alive, and wait for reinforcements.

Alright first time writing a battle so bare with me if its bad.

Anyway any and all corrections and criticism are accepted and welcomed :D

[X] Sally forth

As much as I consider leaving the defensive positions we've made risky, the critter being able to burrow kind of leaves us in a bind.

[X] Sally forth

Its can burrow and regenerate letting it go to ground (literally) is a bad idea.

Put a space between these two lines.

Decrease the space between these lines.

Canon Omake: Look What I Found
Omake: Look what I found.

She had continued on her walk eventually coming to a dusty hall. It looked undisturbed as if her hooves the hoofs of a Draenei were trespassing in this place.

She continued on, no ill feeling would stop her from exploring this place. If it was empty she had nothing to worry about, if some horror long trapped by the Nayru dwelled here better that she find it now than leave it to fester.

She was being ridiculous. All the monsters sealed by the Nayru were in the Arcatraz. However something in this place was not normal. She could feel it in her horns.

She walked on the strange feeling persisting. Her staff was in hand not held as a walking stick but a weapon it's spear head had changed many times but the shaft that had come with her from Argus had always remained. The feel of the zra wood comforting it was likely the last example of zra wood in existence. It had served her well and she knew it would not fail her.

She walked and walked no doors to be found no turn offs just a straight path. She wanted to discover just what was at the end of the hall it had piqued her interest and she wanted to know what that strange feeling she felt was.

There wee murals on the walls now humanoid figures fighting in various poses. something about them seemed almost beautiful, deadly but beautiful.

After walking further still she came to a set of doors. Large and imposing. However they swung open effortlessly when she touched them. Inside was what looked like a training room of some sort. Some of the equipment was intuitive in how it was used but others, what use was a forest of poles sticking out of the floor?

At the back of the room another door she walked over to it there was no handle pushing it didn't seem to work there was an integrate pattern on it.

She sat cross legged staring at it contemplating the pattern eventually she closed her eyes to think on it. She focused on it above all else. Her eyes opened and the door was not there anymore. It had not opened it was simple gone.

She entered and ascended a spiraling set of stairs. At the top she found a large room filled with shelf upon shelf of scrolls. Lifting one out she saw it illustrated a method of fighting and spiritualism she was unfamiliar with. She made sure to place the scroll back in the same place and position she found it.

She left the room to go tell others of her discovery.

Another excellent omake :D

As per your request your reward is.

[X] Scrolls detailing the use of the physical art "Chi": These are a varity of scrolls from potentially hundreds of different worlds and species, some translated others not. They detail the use of the "inner energy" Chi, to achieve supernatural feats of strength, agility and even healing using nothing, but willpower, focus and your fists or in some cases staff weapon. The scrolls that are readable indicate that it would be an easy art to learn, but emphasis caution, for emotions run wild could lead to the deaths of many.

Soon everyone will know not to underestimate any of our people who are unarmed in battle, let's show them the way of the fist

I wonder if we will end up making Cathy upset since we are stealing their thing.:p

Unarmed combatants for us also include mages and shaman. It's isn't just monks that can be scary in a fight without a 10-20 kilo weapons.

As for monks, for those not familiar with the WoW version, here is a Pandarian monk/Brewmaster (Chen Stormstout) taking it fairly easy on two fighters.

And the aftermath for the two.:D
