Do you only play modern games(dx 11/12) and are willing to put up with a very beta quality software experience to get a 3060ish performance for 330 USD? Then it might be worth a shot.

Right now mostly looking at the RX 6800x but seeing what happens with prices and keeping options open.
Even if I had the money right now, would not buy a 4xxx series card right now due to being just introduced.
Tbh I don't even really want a 24 inch screen because I already put my 21.5 inch on the edge of my 80cm deep desk so I can see all of it. I feel like a 24 inch screen would be too close and give me neck pain. But 22 inch screens pretty much don't get made anymore it seems and buying a 4 year old screen also doesn't seem great.

Price vs Performance, it looks like the 3060 TI seems to be among the best? Thoughts on it?
Looking at comparisons and it looks like Passmark's performance benchmarks put it at about about double the GTX 980.
Does anyone know anything about the ocpc company? They have an RTX 3060 below $400.
As well, what are thought on Refurbished cards through New Egg sellers?

Ocpc looks to be Vistech? I need a link to a product but i haven't heard of them.
Newegg resellers are the same people hawking stuff on Ebay, there is no quality control. So expect coin miner stock.
If one isn't desperate for an older RTX 30 card I think Black Friday will be the time when they go on a fire sale by AIBs wanting to offload cards.
Honestly like Jensen is milking the RTX 30 cards from 3080 and below since they haven't shifted in price (and if they make a profit off a FE 3080 at 700 USD they easily do for a 3080 Ti FE at 829 and so on). Only way AIBs are going to be shifting stock is Black Friday at this point.I am think that Black Friday might be a good idea myself. Besides, Amazon has an Gigabyte 3060 ti for $405 and prefer a known brand if it comes down to it.
That case looks pretty good and has a nice mesh front so it should have good air intake. It's also from a reputable brand, so the build quality should be good*. The only thing it seems to be missing is a front USB-C port, however, finding a case that is new enough to have a USB-C port and old enough to support 5.25 drives is a serious pain. When I was looking for a new case, the only one I found that had both was the BeQuiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Rev2, which was stupid expensive then and it has only gotten more expensive since.I found a good price on an RX 6800 video card.
A concern that hit me though is the length of the card. The documentation on the case indicates that it can take a card up to 315 mm and the card is 320 mm. There probably will be a bit of space where I can still use the card but I should be ready if I have to get a new case. If I had noted this beforehand, I might not have ordered the card.
I want to have a backup plan however. Need ideas for an alternate case that will definitely be able to take the card. Want something affordable (under 100, preferably under 70), needs to have at least one 5.25 bay, like to at least have a clear side window but could be acrylic not glass (although glass is acceptable), and multiple fan mounts.
I was looking at this one on Amazon. Looks real nice to me. According to the website, will hand cards up to 380 mm long.
Anything wrong with the design?

I hope you'll enjoy the new card! Will you write about your experience with it, once you have it?
I probably should have saved for a new GPU myself, but I ended up buying a 5800X3D this weekend. When I bought my 2700X, I always intended to use the long AM4 lifetime to get a significant upgrade, without a complete system upgrade. So, when I got an email from geizhals.de that the 5800X3D hit a sub 350€ price, I ended up going for it, after thinking about it for a day. Well, I got the mail Friday night, decided to sleep a night over it and then realized the next morning, that mindfactory.de only includs shipping if you buy between midnight and 6AM, so I had a bit more time to think then I thought 😅. Anyway, at 349€ including tax, shipping, and the Unchartered Legacy of Thieves Collection, I'm pretty happy with the price. Especially since it looks like used 2700X's are being sold for about 100€ at the moment on ebay. That it went up in price by 15€ today also made me happy that pulled the trigger over the weekend
*I did my mandatory 2 week internship in Year 10 (? I think, it might have been Year 9. It's been 15+ years 😅) in a local computer shop and I still vividly remember how the other student with me managed to cut his finger while building in a cheap no-name case. Since we didn't have any band-aids, I "bandaged" it with a tissue paper and a zip tie. Since then every case I've bought has been from a reputable brand![]()
There seems to be these two on sale on Ebuyer as 144Hz IPS monitors:I need a new HDMI computer monitor to game with, cause my current one is really old and bad, so I was wondering what I should get?
I don't play anything very intensive but my current screen is getting this terrible white-out where I can't really see what's happening
Budget is like £100-200 tops, maybe?
When you say 2100mhz, what specifically are you referring to?so, on a scale of 1 to 10. how bad is it I've spent a year with my ram not on D.O.C.P?
i just realised it was running at 2100-ish mhz instead of 3000mhz. will the difference be major?
