No, no, John Smith is so 'normal' that it's become totally abnormal. Anyone seriously named John Smith gets an elbow in the rib every time they introduce themselves, with 'at least it isn't John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt' running through their heads constantly. A go-to normal name (for America, at least) would be James or Olivia Langston or something equally generically white.
