There was a second RP thread for the actual diplomatic conference where we hashed out an agreement, had sent off copies of said agreement thru comms to our colonies, then had our reps get bombed.

It also better explains what happened in orbit.

How long would it take the rest of us to find out about what happened to the United Mars Conference at Unity City?

Having given it some thought, I've realised I cannot suspend my disbelief sufficiently on a number topics as contrasted to the direction being presented for us, and thus to prevent conflict I will leave before getting too involved in this whole thing.

Bio: Rich Brazilians started a conglomerate to move to mars because of constant food shortages within the over populated country. The program was initially very unsuccessful but due to their combined wealth they were able to do it again and again it worked. After a year of traveling, the group founder finally landed on the red planet, immediately started to build their new home. Novo Brasília had a slow start but picked up quickly. Novo Brasília has a very deep pride in what all of them did together which sowed seeds of prosperity. The primary goal of the colony is to establish a permanent new home for the colonists. The settlers of Novo Brasília are very isolationists choosing to try their best to stick to themselves.

Hmm, perhaps when the next major sign up comes along (If one comes along?) i'll try my hand, but i'd like to observe a little while longer, just to make sure I understand everything on the technical side of things. (All the RP stuff is understood fairly well for me.)

Long story short, GMs just know that you have people available if players start falling through.

6? Give or take some crossover? Is there a limit? The OP says to try to keep it within reason and understand our resources are limited, which I tried to do, understanding that certain tasks would fall under different departments and require different staff, and I'd know by next turn whether I overreached and can adjust accordingly afterwards

Yeah everything might not be achieved but still listing out what you wanna do is very helpful.
