You suppose you'll pass the extra time with some brief conversation.

Your attention goes back to the strange woman to your right. She's certainly peculiar.

"Excuse me," You regain her attention. She looks up from the bar turns her head to you once more. "Could I ask you something?"

"Of course," She states simply.

"Would you happen to know anything," You start, pausing only a brief moment to consider how to word this weird question, "about amnesia and possible teleportation caused by magic overuse?"

"That's a curious question to ask a stranger." She cocks her head at you, but goes on, "You mean that boy, then."

"Eh?" Your brow furrows.

"You already know how magic can affect your memories. You want to know about teleportation." She shifts to face you completely. "There's hardly any conceivable way someone could teleport a very long distance by accident. Very few magic practitioners ever were able to teleport long distances at all."

"Oi," You squint as she rambles, "Just who are you, exactly?"

"Why should that matter to you?" She says, squinting slightly at you.

You square your shoulders as you lock eyes with the woman. Something is off about her. Something about her descriptions make her seem more familiar with your situation than a stranger should be.

"I-"

The door behind the bar bursts open, the gaunt-looking man from before returning, carrying a simple mug and crude plate full of greens.

"Ey, your- Oh." He starts to call across the room until he spots you, still standing right in front of the bar. "Thought you'd be sitting down with your sister over there."

You perk a brow at the comment. You hardly resemble the prince, and he isn't a-

Wait, you pause as you notice the seat to your right is empty. That woman left her seat. You turn to see that she's on her way out of the building. The prince Ancillas still sits quietly at the table, no doubt wasting away.

'Why not both?'

The innkeeper can serve the prince just fine. Chase the skirt! Who just ups and leaves in the middle of the conversation like that!?

"Thank you," You blurt hurriedly as you grab the drink and food from him. You rush to deliver it to your waiting prince.

"Ah, thank you miss Lethis." He takes a look at the food he's been given. No doubt he's surprised at the lack of quality, but it's the best you could do under the circumstances, right?

"It's no problem at all, really. N-"

"I'm sorry to have been a bother. I hope it wasn't too expensive?" He looks up from his food worriedly.

"Oh, don't worry about that, please. I have more than enough money. But-"

"Are you sure? I don't want you to waste away your money just for me."

You're in a hurry but not answering the prince would be incredibly rude…!

"I'm absolutely sure, I have ample funds, providing you food should be absolutely no problem. Anyways-"

"Well, thank you then, miss Lethis. You've been incredibly kind." He smiles gently.

You can't just interrupt him either, that would be unbearably rude!

"It's nothing, my prince. Now please-"

"Is something...bothering you, miss Lethis?" He looks at you, concerned about your increasingly distressed manner.

"Not at all, it's just," You finally manage to explain to him, "I found a woman who may be able to help us, she's…"

You check to see her, but surely enough she's left already.

"So I must hurry after her, if you'd please excuse me-" You move away quickly, making for the door, hopefully she didn't get very far.

But wait, you'd just be leaving your prince here! Is that safe? In a dingy place like this? What if…

You can just take a look outside, see if the woman is still near…!

You throw the door open and look about. She really didn't get far, she's walking down the path away from the alehouse as slowly as one could imagine!

You rush forward and plant your hand on her shoulder, "Hold a minute, please!" You pull her shoulder back and she twists to face you, "What sort of person just leaves in the middle of conversation?" You bark, slightly irritated she would force you to chase her.

"What sort of person," She starts as she wrests her shoulder out of your grip, "Throws their hands so roughly on a stranger?" She snaps back, slightly irritated you would stop her so rudely.

"Er…" You realize it was slightly rude, but you were in a big hurry, "I apologize for that, but I needed to ask more of you."

"I see," She starts uncertainly, "I apologize for my leaving, but I have other things to do, you see." She apologizes, apparently seeming to realize what she did was a bit rude, even if she was busy. She's in a hurry? Well, so are you! Plus, you've left the prince by himself!

Ahem.

"Then, if I may ask…"

We already have a prince, though.
Ah, but our meeting with the Prince wasn't a text-book example of a Knight Romancing someone.

We saved him, yes, but we did not run scoundrels down with our horse while doing so, as a proper novel would demand. T'was just us being a good person instead of being blinded by hormones love.

But this? Running up to a person and asking for their name after they left the conversation is a text-book example of chivalric romance. T'is scene's straight out of an anime.

I can hear the bards singing already.

Seriously though, I plan on keeping our protag married to her job.

We'll have the best kind of relationship with everyone else instead, that being familial and/or platonic.

Her name
[X] Her name.

"Then, if I may ask your name?" You ask politely.

"It's Idunna. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Writham." She replies with a polite smile.

"The pleasure is mine. My name-" Wait. You stop your introduction, realizing she used your name already.

"Do I know you?" You ask confusedly.

"I suppose? We've just introduced ourselves, haven't we?" She cocks her head, confused.

......

"Ahem. I am Lethis Writham, future royal knight. The...pleasure is mine," You finish, eyeing the woman carefully. She says nothing more.
