[X] Yes, accept the commission. You will proceed to Kemperbad, there to fight a judicial duel with a champion nominated by the von Dammenblatz family.
-[X] Take the Duellist Career. Your rewards for this arc will focus on making you more capable of personal-scale combat.

Not gonna win anyway, but it's time to d-d-d-d-duel!

Gimme some of that mano-a-mano stuff. We keep fighting one on one so improving those abilities will be helpful.

[X] No, refuse the commission. You will return to the Colleges of Magic in Altdorf and seek out alternate employment.

Not enough self-buff spells known to be comfortable with a melee-only duel...

The Graf makes a lot of big promises, but fuck her. She was pretty parsimonious in the payment after we risked our lives against this assassin. I don't particular want to defend a woman who might very well be guilty and let her slip out on her crimes just on the promise she's going to "introduce" us to the Countess.
A formal introduction to an Elector Countess is nothing to sniff at. That's like... The high water mark of networking, in the Empire.

-[X] Remain in the Wizard career. Your rewards for this arc will be taken from the same list of options as those of the last arc, save for spells, which will be new.

Part of your rewards for this arc will include the choice of another spell, yes. If you accept the commission I'll make sure at least a few of them are viable for use in a formal duel as well.
All right, if we'll be able to grab a relevant spell or two before the duel, I feel better about this.

I don't think advancing in the duelist career will allow us to learn new spells? It's the wizard career that says the spells will be new.

Not sure how well we'd do against a trained duelist. And we could well be defending a guilty party

Only way that makes sense IC. And honestly no great reason not to.
Hopefully she'll get chance to sleep and heal, though. This was a hell of a night.

For me, the deciding point is that we can, in fact, switch back later. And we do seem to be getting into an awful lot of personal scale combat.

...I kinda wanted to turn down the commission and go back to the college, if just to actually get something done with that basilisk hide. But it'll keep, and turning down Plot is no way to play.
