Of Reconstruction and Rosaries

Greta is organized, tactically agressive and loyal. Lawrence is a spy. Achille is high command in the airforce. He's a bit of a showboater, like most flyboys.

Having two forces foraging means more resources, yes.

Sorry this is short, i'm on my phone.

Your injured are with otto, but Achille isn't used to the kind of pace you, Lawrence and Greta practice. Nor are any of yours troops.

There is some hidden synergy, but it's hidden. More people to one task is always better for that task though.

Alright, so I think rest would be a good idea for Achille. Some fresh troops would probably help.

Foraging is the most important, and I really want to double down on it. Could we put Lawrence's squad under Greta, while having Lawrence be the one investigating?

Actually, to clarify things, does resting mean that squad will be sleeping? Because they might be able to listen to the radio if they aren't. Although now that I think about it, I don't know who actually speaks the local language besides Lawrence, so that might be a was of time.

You could as a write in, yes. I am ok with that.

Resting means trying to use the radio, playing cards, trying to use the kitchen to make snacks, gambling on ratfights, gambling on slug races, and more. Not just sleeping. But a good amount of the time will likely be sleeping.

Alright, that might be a good idea.

Does anyone besides Lawrence know the local language though? Getting a feel for things is useless if they don't.

And if it isn't too much trouble can we get a reminder of our supplies? All I remember is "BAD". I was thinking we were getting to the point that we might not even be able to survive ditching everyone but our lieutenants, but I'm pretty sure we aren't there yet.

Biggest would be days of food and water left, followed by engagements worth of ammo

Food for three days, but there's more food in the fort, so now it's more like food for eight days... 15 with tight rationing.

Right now your water supply is topped off. Plenty of water here.

You've got gas for about a hundred kilometers.

Edit: you've got very little ammo, but more than when you were most desperate. Most desperate was 400 rounds, then you got more at the hardware store for civilian guns (which you are now using) and some from the bodies of your foes. I can't really figure in my head right now the exact amount. Not a lot

You've got enough ammo for about 3/4th hours sustained engagement.

Alright thanks. Looked back and I saw that Lawrence is the only one who knows the Language, so he's the only one worth having listen to the radio.

Assuming we can't use a plane to get out of here, how far away are we from where we can expect a boat to possibly be? Mostly asking if our current fuel would be enough.

[X][Greta]Foraging
-[X][Greta] Take Lawrence's men
[X][Lawrence]Studying
-[X][Lawrence] Focus on the radio
[X][Achille]Resting
[X][You]Recon

Would this work? I'm also a bit curious as to where the Foraging is occurring compared to where where Recon occurs, just to try and understand things a bit better

Edit: I just saw the edit that we don't have much ammo, so that worries me, but ultimately we can ditch everyone but Greta and Lawrence if we have to.

you're about 1 and a half days from the east coast, but that's a longer sea voyage home because the island is shaped a little like a backwards c.

You're more like 3 days from the other coast and it saves you about a day on the ocean.

Foraging is more aggressive. The mission is to find and recover supplies. Recon is more about building a map and staying out of sight. Recon will come back with information more than supplies.

Okay, thanks for the info.

I think Recon is still hopefully worth it, even if all it does is think of how we're gonna go from here or at as an early warning to people coming to get us.

...Wait, does our MC think there's a risk of some of these men stabbing the rest in the back to benefit themselves? It might be a bad idea to split Lawrence's men off from him and to Greta if we do.

They're dregs, monsters, and otherwise people who would likely fair poorly in court. The ones who weren't willing to wait for trial and sentencing. Also, they're all commissioned officers. On the other hand, a disproportionate number of them are Oraba, the elites. It hasn't come up yet, but one of the arguments that was going to be used against you in court was that, because you're oraba, you weren't fighting in the correct uniform. The other countries were going to claim you were more like a private security force employed by the emperor than an actual military.

I know they would be willing to backstab if they needed to, I was more wondering if our MC thought they might be able to get away on their own.

Although now that I think about it, since they know we're on an island, they probably don't want to go on their own. Too many things stack the odds against them.

Unless they find a car or steal our current one we should be fine

...hopefully
