With QAs control ability? A lot. It's a high level brute power, so it could be interesting on crawler, making that shade more survivable and giving adaptive regeneration more chances to work and escalate.

Just for this you jumped up many places in my list of fave worm fics. Sveta was always a char that most exemplified Worm for me, a bunch of people used and discarded by the powers that be to suffer on their own.

Nope - I did not. But you are right they are awfully close in their powers.
To be fair - Blink power is based on Flying Thunder God from Naruto and Echo power unlike Crickets does not have a combat application.

I also recall a Protectorate cape by that name who operated in BB some years prior to canon.

She is also one of my favourite characters in the setting - and I know of like three fics in which she is featured (aka has more than a few lines) ... which was a clear underrepresentation of her ...
Combined with the fact that I want to do different things in my fics she was the obvious choice for a role in this one.

Wha... no! That is the absolute worst thing she could do. Don't tell the PRT what happened? That can only make her look bad. It's not going to be hard for them to figure out "Huh. Tentacle girl disappeared from her cell and Normal Girl appeared in her place. I wonder if these events are connected?"

Sveta absolutely needs to tell them "A Hero showed up, asked for permission, then healed me." This casts Taylor in the best possible light. The fact that her power are gone theyd have to assume is a side effect of healing a C53. Now the PRT is free to speculate the worst possible motive for her actions.

Aaaand now she's made it even worse. Now the PRT have no idea about her healing. All they know is "a team of unknown parahumans broke into a secure facility and kidnapped a powerful cape who can't stop herself from killing". This could not possibly paint Taylor in a more villainous light; just another supervillain kidnapping capes and forcing them to join (which they'll doubly believe if they ever see one of her shades using tentacles).

She's basically ruined her chances at being seen as a hero by the PRT and that's going to show up massively once she and their heroes meet properly. Their engagement protocols are going to be wildly different depending if they think they're approaching a "heroic rogue who breaks a few laws with good intentions and has a healing ability that outshines Panacea" versus a "probable villain of unknown motives who kidnapped a child with a volatile power".

Taylor hasn't just shot herself in the foot, she's shot out her hands as well.

Well, it always depends on where that girl reappears. It is not like the PRT jurisdiction extends over homeless orphans or such things ... and then they need to make the connection or even think it is possible to remove powers from Case 53 ...

All assuming the PRT/Protectorate can connect Taylor to the outbreak - All they know is that one of the attacker(s) of the facility and kidnapper of Garote possesses a teleportation ability and had access to an EMP. That is not a lot to go on. Also, a lot of groups organizations have access to those means ...

Of course, if Taylor comes out in the near future and demonstrates that very skill-set she might become the prime suspect.

Then again isn't the path to hell paved with good intentions -
