From a moral standpoint it just might be a valid option for a Hollow. Have you paused to consider how much blood is on the hands of the average Adjuchas? :V

What happens to all of the souls that compose a hollow if it offs itself? What if every kill they rack up makes it morally worse to commit suicide as they prevent proper purification? :V

So I see we've got a tightly contested vote here, where the future of the quest might hinge on the whims of one voter. A single ill-considered reply could consign entire story arcs to oblivion, rendering them stillborn and unrealized. I must make my choice carefully:

[X] ManusDomine

Okay, okay, I think I get the message :V How did this get five pages long?

So, I'm closing in early. @ManusDomine's write in is in.

This puts me in an awkward position. I originally intended to put together a list of possible resurreccion and have you vote from them but this one proposal is very specific and has huge voter backing so it seems like a waste of time to delay with another vote and come up with a ton of zanpakutous when there's one with huge approval right there. But on the other hand the proposed Resurreccion doesn't quite... Work. It has a bunch of separate abilities loosely tied, both physical and psychological, and is a sword-wielding thing more appropriate to a shikai than to a resurreccion.

So Manus, notthepenguins and NonSequtur worked on an alternate version of their blatant Hollow Knight rip-off. I'm going to just drop it here in a quote before going to bed. If it meets overwhelming approval we'll skip the resurreccion vote phase and go straight to the next phase tomorrow.
With the release command of "challenge", one would expect something more threatening in appearance than Polilla's Resurreccion; this, like so many other things about your blade, is a deception. Upon release, cracks form on your mask and your blade and spread across your body, leaking a harsh radiance. The cracks spread until they cover your form, the light flaring bright enough to blind those who look at you at the moment of transformation, bursting from your shell with a sickening sound. As this last flash of light fades away and dies, the empty shell that was once your body hangs like a puppet where you stood. Black dust seeps out from the cracks in the now-brittle carapace, consuming it until the only feature left uncovered is your bone-white mask, its eyes dark pits. When you move, you leave a trail of black motes behind you. You like to pretend they form wings, like a moth. In this form you weigh nearly nothing, a creature of dust and shadow in a hollow shell, and your spells take on a dark cast.

Your Sonido changes as well, even the puppet losing its mass when you move. You turn immaterial and untouchable, passing through obstacles and opponents with no regard for their strength or speed. This does not mean you cannot touch others, however, for Polilla can strike those you pass through should you will it.

Further, your distance from the physical body you inhabit means wounds and even limb loss do not slow you, and given a moment's calm and a shadow to hide in, any damage may be repaired with unnatural speed, though this is tiring. Opponents must pin you down and deny you your shadows to truly threaten your life.
tl;dr: Your Resurreccion gives you Dark Souls-style invincibility frames when using Sonido and lets you pass through objects and people striking them while doing so. You get a healing ability while standing in shadows. On the minus side your sword can only briefly manifest when attacking, so you can't properly parry. You need to rely on dodging and healing to survive engagements. Your resurreccion is pretty powerful for your spiritual power, but it is very weak against restraining attacks or illuminating effects that banish shadows.

If that's okay with you, we'll proceed forward. If the change from the original bandwagon @ManusDomine vote isn't to your taste, I'll work on an extended list of abilities to post.

So our TRUE FORM is a Dark Souls Player?

I am More than okay with that! Enthusiasm rekindled!

Dear sweet god, access to I-Frames when using Sonido!? Legendary Sonido here we come.
Technically this happens by turning immaterial, so certain kinds of magic will ignore it. Trick-type Resurreccions: very powerful as long as they get to play by their own rules, but always with counters for the lucky or prepared.

Protip: don't do a monologue explaining your power to your opponent.

Excuse me, I was involved too :p

This is fine with me, as is presumably obvious.

The only downside is that we're not so strangely adorable in that state :(

"Oh hey she's just shy I'm sure there's a pretty princess underneath that mask" and then we go true form and suddenly being of ash and shadow everywhere :(

Cool beads, sounds like a fun play style to me.

Um... Isn't that something you should never do anyway?

Yes, but this is shonen-esque story where people can't even keep their
mouths shut while killing each other. To avoid that, we'd have to be A. Mute, B. Far away from exposition fairies (ie. 'Allies') and C. Completely merciless in our engagements so survivors don't spread the word.

Hm. Maybe we should discard sword skills for hand to hand.

would we be able to learn the other advance skills form the other unique traits?
You can't retroactively turn out to have been a Gillian, no. Some advanced skills (others than the ones offered at chargen) may be accessible through story developments.

You have no idea how tempted I am to make you a Silent Videogame Protagonist just for kicks :V

So, you mean to say that it's even more accurate to the Dark Souls rolling experience? :V

Nah, the vast majority of our foes rely on blood veins, which slash easy, but are hard to bruise.

If we take that disability, will we get the perk of being able to activate our special abilities without calling their names, or having to explain them to whomever we're using them on?

Arrancars don't generally need to call out their actions. They do it sometimes for kicks but unlike Kido, you need no incantation even for a Gran Rey Cero.

That said I can't really do a Silent Protagonist thing because calling out your weapon release is always one of the coolest things in Bleach.

Actually, just imagine the scenario where we're mute, and communicate mostly by narration (i.e You don't think that sounds like a very good idea. "Oh, don't be such a worrywart," he replies.):

We take our blade, and instead of saying anything everything just becomes very, very silent for a few seconds. Then we tap on the edge, and it makes this crystal chiming sound, and we start cracking apart.

Bonus points if it's an unnatural silence.

How about we have a swarming mass of milk moths do the talking for us, to take a page out of Shriekers book? So everytime Nemo spoke, it would just be a creepy layered echo, a bit like what Taylor can do in Worm.

We could spell out letters, symbols, and emoticons when were feeling lazy too!

Are you insinuating that the inability to tell our opponents exactly what they need to know in order to defeat us is in any way beneficial?

I know, right? How can they be expected to give us a challenge if we crush them like we absolutely totally can at the beginning?

(Guys, we should try to kill our opponents. I think it is a concept many anime villains struggle with)

See, that IS a good idea...but the problem with that is we'll end up fighting some combat genius who we have on the ropes for 90% of the fight, then they knock us on our ass, say "I've figured out your little trick" and then explain our own power back to us so the audience can be both informed and impressed that they figured it out.
