...Did Shinji have a flashback to eating Zeruels S2 engine, conflated with Rei's body, or did things inna previous life go truly off the rails? I do hope that impressions are just blending together. Don't know yet if there's a mental/soul link, or the remains of one between him and Rei. Though, having gone through 3rd impact together, and being the primary agents of it, I would not be surprised at all to know that there is some kind of permanent resonance between them, and it doesn't have all that much to do with AT field sickness.
