Nature of the medium I'm afraid. Some writers have a story they want to tell, and to hit certain beats Batman may have to have pick a fight with Dick or hit Jason. Or the writers just forget what Batman has previously shown he's capable of. It's not even just the writers. It's the editors or management. A surprising amount of influence can go into bad characterization.

Also, I've viewed it as the various Bat-Family members are better than Bruce at some things; Bruce is just really solid in everything.

So where Dick might have 10/10 on Acrobatic stuff and Tim might have 10/10 on Computers, Bruce is like 7-8/10 on most fronts.

Canon Bruce is a Jack of all Trades, imo.

Dick maxed out acrobatics and charisma.

Tim maxed out general technology and detective skills.

Barbara maxed out computers.

Cassandra maxed out fighting skills.

Jason maxed out edginess and strength and endurance.

Damien maxed out, nothing really, he is a Jack of all Trades like his daddy, imo.

I've already voted but I keep having ideas. One of the things about Robins that I like is that they are all kinda potential Batmen. It's a line of succession.

[] A bat face gargoyle creature. It says it is Gotham. It says it was made for you and you for it. It took your parents so it could give you purpose. It wants you to dedicate your life to it. To defending it. To serving it. In time you'll bring more into its service. More dark knights.
