No, SV, You Are the Forest! (Riot Quest)

I doubt we'd grow big enough to win at this pace, if that was our goal we should have told the Ingaba when we first met them to give us food.
The entire motivation behind our "Maximum Collector Tree" doctrine is to grow bigger, in a smarter, faster way.

The Collector Doctrine isn't wrong. We're in a good position to grow in magnitude now, and every further collector tree simply improves that.

Asking the fleshbags for food would have merely added succeses to the growths which require the least successes. Which would almost never be growing the forest. It was a sucky offer.

There. Will that work?

Sure.

"Synapse trees would lead to a fracturing of the Focus votes, which I view as a bad thing. Oh well~"
I changed my vote because to tranquil because of this.

changing my vote, didn't realize how important having tranquil trees would be. In other news, I'm really not sure why so many of us have decided that sacrificing to the worm is the best idea right now? Like I know that they love us, and I love the worm (I think?). But if they require something that could be called a sacrifice that probably should only happen on a once in while basis, you know as a treat.
The Worm is currently providing us with immense bonuses. People are predicting that when it has eaten its fill it will give even better bonuses.

Personally I expect it will provide bonuses… but also impose an equivalent penalty.

Eh we got plenty of resources stocked up if the worm wants em, specially since we got ourselves some scavenger trees to make that easy money.
I'm more curious what the ingaba will think of us when we call our acid drooling vicious space predator's adorable little puppies and how to care for them and what kinda kibble to feed em :V

*slides up to newbie* :drevil:*nudge* Hey! *nudge* Hey! You wanna kill? We only have 1 kind of kill, Shard Trees. They fling shrapnel. Boring right? Change your Grow the Forest actions to Grow Tranquil Trees. They'll help me and the other Mind Trees do research. Then in exchange We'll research some offensive Trees for you to grow.
Do ya wanna grow a tree that shoot lasers? :ogles: Do you wanna shoot lasers?

"But why?"
I'm glad you ask, my good Spoon!

Our only current attack method is the Shard Volley, which we have no upgrades for. Rather than throw in another two dice for Elder Trees, I decided to begin the slow road towards improving them manually! But I didn't know where to start, so I defaulted to asking about how our friends' claws are apparently really hardcore. Sharper shards make our shard trees more shard per tree, right?

More to the point, our Shield is expensive to use. With Conversion so many turns away, our banked supplies are currently only indirectly useful. To free up actions for our Heart Trees now that more Magnetic Trees are off the table, my next best plan is to have automatic defenses that don't suck.

You can grow things! I agree that Offense actions are pretty thin on the ground, though.
When space was unlimited I would agree to waiting until the Mind Tree's finally decide to throw us a bone, but seeing as space for specialty trees is now on a premium I'm not going to sit around and pray for a hand me down for what I want built.

I will boycott Growth entirely if needs be.

As far as I know, we are actually closer to getting the laser as our first attacking option however with the way Ingaba research dump's dice to the most popular voted research project it instead be shunted to the Hyper tree which will take more time rather than just sticking to Laser research.

Were all over the place currently with the big projects, we were nearly done finishing the optical tree but switched to the laser instead and if this vote win's we will be switching from that research to the hyper tree.
We need to actually focus and finish something or else were going to be researching everything and finish nothing.

As the one and only assault tree i welcome you brother of my spirit.

I will join you in your efforts on trying to finish the lasers.

If it makes you feel any better Heart trees spent a long time with "store resources" and "shield" as their only options, the latter of which was only sometimes useful.

We're trying our harderst! There are way too many research projects right now and we need the tranquil trees too smooth over the work load. Please be patient and keep growing the forest, we need the space for lasers and ftl later on.

Research Elder Trees to unlock more upgrades.

--[] Ingaba trees are alien and fascinating. This tree seeks to work with an Ingaba Mind-Tree to create a more profound psychic link, so that Forest and Ingaba might speak more deeply and know each other better.

Valid write-in. Success will result in the Ingaba taking a turn to process what you're asking for before coming to a decision on the matter.

We currently have a 2.8 multiplier on growth non-auto successes, going up to 3.08 of the Hoop tree action succeeds. Which means we actually only need 4 or 5 successes on growing the last Tranquil tree.

Clarified the 'Expand the Forest's Reach' action to indicate that it's additive with other sources, rather than multiplicative.

The Worm's bonus is always multiplicative, so this comes out to a total multiplier of *3.

We should go hard on the elder trees this turn so that we can get some more psychic options next turn. Can't let that treaty bonus go to waste

Sweet. That means if Expand succeeds this turn we'll still only need 4 successes from actions to get that third Tranquil tree (4x3=12).

Also remember guys that even if we have 1 of each special tree, we can then research upgrades for each that might make them have passive effects. Because I suspect low level upgrades will cost a lot less than higher level upgrades

Would defining our trees further by their particular focus as "groves" help us coordinate better?

Ex:

1. "Laser beam Research Grove" seems to be gaining support, from the multiple recent pledges of focus up above.

2. The tyranny of the "Recursive Collector Growth Grove" is finally dissolving in many chaotic directions, but it seems like some certain Groves are necessary to continue existing while others are necessary to continue actually progressing/evolving- etc etc.
