"Talking"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ahem, anyways…" King Vegeta cleared his throat as all three Saiyans stared at him after his outburst, "The Triangle of Evil has one ball. There are a few other places of lesser importance labeled on the map. That's the gist of it. Any questions?"

"Yeah, actually, I've been wanting to ask… I'm not doubting your decision or anything, Your Highness," Gray started, hoping not to piss off the Saiyan King with his question, "But why am I going on the mission?"

I'm not complaining about a chance to get to Earth, but this situation is weird. Even if I did defeat an A-Class recruit, I'm still just an F-Class. On top of that, Raditz was waiting for me right when I arrived back on Planet Vegeta, so Celia wouldn't have been able to tell the King anything unless she said something about me before we left.

King Vegeta groaned audibly, "Well, guess I'm just giving a whole mission briefing here now, huh? Wasting so much of my time! Fine!"

King Vegeta pointed his finger at Celia, who stood still and emotionless, as if the strongest Saiyan in the world wasn't pointing accusingly at her, "You're here because she chose you! This bastard child had every Saiyan recruit to choose from, and she chose a damn F-Class!"

Gray blinked, looking at Celila, "Huh?"

"Roughly a year ago, I awakened my ability…" Celia started to explain.

Ability? I don't remember Saiyans having special abilities, but Goku could also randomly talk telepathically and read memories, so what do I know?

"The only good thing about her." King Vegeta said with a huff as he sat down on the chairs surrounding the table. Gray noticed Celia's lip twitch slightly at his words, but she continued nonetheless.

"Right. This ability is the only reason I got any royal training, despite being a bastard. I lived in the slums before this showed up." Celia said, walking towards Raditz and creating a small circle with her thumb and index finger, then holding it up to her eye, "To dumb it down for you, my ability lets me see certain parts of a person. The only part you need to know about for this explanation is that I can see someone's full potential."

Gray blinked in surprise at her words, "Their full potential?"

What the hell does that mean? My maximum power level? Potential didn't really make sense in the show, considering that Grand Elder Guru unlocked Gohan's full potential on Namek, and then he still got a thousand times stronger two arcs later.

"Yes. Father gave me the task of finding promising recruits with a lot of potential. So, I infiltrated the recruitment process to get closer to the recruit with the most potential." Celia explained, not elaborating on what 'potential' really meant.

"Which, supposedly, is you." King Vegeta spoke up, looking at him doubtfully, "You did well on Planet Vargon, but I expected Celia to come back with an A or S-Class recruit. Maybe that rising star, Caulifa. Not an F-Class like you."

Did he just say Caulifa?

Gray had no time to think about if he'd misheard the Saiyan King or not, as he had a more important question to get out.

"So, you joined the F-Class group I was in because I have the highest potential of any of the recruits?" Gray asked.

Obviously, I do, but that's because of the game. Did the Gray whose body I took over really have the highest potential? He, or I guess me, wasn't even a canon character.

"Nope. I was there for Dareth." Celia answered, and Gray couldn't stop his jaw from dropping.

Seriously? Dareth?

"Don't look so surprised. There are many Saiyans with immense potential, but most die before they even come close to reaching it. Dareth has the potential to surpass even Father, but he is also arrogant and stupid. I was hoping to guide him, but then I met you. He's likely ended up dead due to his arrogance by now." Celia explained.

"Yeah, I doubt he survived the test," Gray said, feeling partially disappointed and partially relieved. The Saiyan part of him still wanted revenge, while the Human part of him felt glad to not have that weighing on his shoulders anymore, "That means I had more potential than him, so you joined my team?"

"Incorrect." Celia said, surprising him again, "Actually, it's the opposite. I can't see your potential at all. It's as if you have none."

Gray blinked in surprise, for what felt like the 50th time that day, "None?"

"None." Celia confirmed, "Which shouldn't be possible. Every living thing has some amount of potential. Even animals. Expect for you. Choosing you was incredibly illogical. A complete gamble."

Gray felt a shiver go down his spine at the look Celia gave him after saying that, an unnatural smile on her face.

I have no potential? Is it because of the game, or was the past Gray just pathetically weak? I guess he was in last place in Class-F…

"Which is why," King Vegeta spoke up again, standing from his seat and suddenly looking much more intimidating, "If this gamble doesn't pay off, both of your heads will roll."

Gray grimaced as he felt pressure press down on his shoulders, reminding him that the older man in front of him was still the King of the Saiyans.

"Of course, Father," Celia said, looking much more relaxed than Gray despite the threat hanging in the air.

"You," King Vegeta intoned as he looked at Gray, and Gray blinked in surprise as he saw Raditz and Celia suddenly collapse, both of them falling onto all fours as King Vegeta's presence filled the room. Gray felt an even more intense pressure slam onto his shoulders, but stayed standing tall.

This is the pressure from the King of all Saiyans… and yet, it's not that bad? Are Raditz and Celia seriously being sent to their knees from this?

"If this gamble pays off, what will you do? When you have the dragon balls… or when you reach your potential, ascending beyond the realm of a normal Saiyan?" King Vegeta asked as he stared down his nose at Gray, his face unreadable.

Is he… talking about me becoming a Super Saiyan?

Gray stood tall, staring directly into the King's eyes as he answered, "I'll use that power against Frieza. I'll help you free the Saiyan race from his control."

King Vegeta stared back into his eyes for a moment, and then his face turned into a sneer.

"Whatever," King Vegeta growled, "I'm done wasting my time with this. Make sure you memorize that map. You deal with the rest. Raditz."

Huh? Did I answer wrong?

"Yes, Your Highness," Raditz responded.

King Vegeta walked out of the room, leaving the three younger Saiyans remaining.

"Make sure you memorize that map. You deal with the rest, Celia," Raditz said, mimicking the order King Vegeta had given him with a smirk on his face as he brushed off the assignment. He walked out after the King, leaving just Gray and Celia remaining.

Gray sighed as he relaxed now that the two powerful Saiyans were gone, "Damn, that was intense. Didn't think I'd be talking to the King so soon. You said not to trust him and made him sound so scary on the way here, but he seemed pretty alright to me."

Celia hummed, "He was lenient with you because you did something as amazing as defeating Kolra on Vargon. Out of the tens of thousands of Class-F recruits who took the test, there are probably a couple hundred who survived at the most. The test this year was particularly harsh, probably due to Frieza pressuring Father. You survived while defeating a Class-A recruit."

Gray blinked for the 51st time at the mention of Frieza, "Frieza? Why would he have anything to do with the test?"

"I'm not surprised you don't know. Talking badly about Frieza never ends well for anyone, so no one mentions it openly, but Frieza isn't shy about his dislike for us Saiyans." Cecilia said as she stared at the map, seemingly memorizing it as she spoke, "Our Ozaru forms allow us to be his strongest soldiers, but also his biggest threat. He's been forcing Father to send more Saiyans into the war during the last two years, usually on suicide missions. Father's powerless to do anything but obey, of course."

"Ah, that makes sense. I was wondering how the recruitment program stayed around with tests like that. Assuming mostly A-Class guys passed the test, most of the other classes would only have a few surviving squads left, right?" Gray asked.

"You're both right and wrong. There were thousands of Class-F squads sent to take the test, but there were only about 25 Class-A recruits. Most of the other teams didn't have to fight against an A-Class, but you're right in the idea that a lot of the lower classes are wiped out." Celia said, "The test teams sent to each planet were mostly random, we just happened to have a bad draw. Our race isn't nearly smart or organized enough to have one team from each class on each test planet."

"Fair. We're a race of meatheads." Gray chuckled.

Still, the game, or someone, must have had something to do with that test. There's no way we happened to end up with one team from each class and with them distributed in that way. The strongest F-Class team, one of the stronger D-Class teams, a middle-of-the-road C-Class team, a weak B-Class team, and then the weakest A-Class team.

Celia turned to look at him head-on at his remark, and took a step closer to him, "However, don't think that my Father is stupid. He wouldn't have been able to stay as King for so long if he was. He deflected your question about why you were put on this mission to instead talk about my ability, and you not realizing is why you need me."

Gray stared back into her eyes as he realized she was right, "Yeah, I guess he didn't answer directly. I assumed it was because of my potential."

I was so caught up in thinking about Celia's ability, that I didn't realize he half-dodged my question.

"It's to die," Celia said calmly.

Gray blinked in surprise for the 52nd time that day, "What?"

"We're both being sent there to die. The whole squad is, in fact." Celia continued, taking another step forward so she was only a foot or two away from Gray, "The situation on Earth is much worse than he alluded to. Even Raditz is probably unaware, but Frieza's forces are losing badly. The last report from Earth was about 10 days ago, and they estimated that they'd be forced to retreat completely from the planet within the next month, or else they'd be completely wiped out. Remember how I mentioned Frieza was forcing Father to send Saiyans on suicide missions? We're one of those."

Gray grimaced at her words, "But, we could just be last-minute reinforcements to help turn the tide, right? There's no way the King would send both his daughter and squad captain to their death! How do you even know this if Raditz doesn't?"

Celia smiled sadly at his words and glanced down at her feet, "I'm an unloyal bastard child. Even with my ability, he'd rather be rid of me. As for Raditz, he might be a squad commander but he's by far the weakest of them all. Father likely already has a replacement for him. Him being chosen for being 'smart' and 'loyal' is just to stroke Raditz's ego a bit. As for you,"

Celia placed her finger against his chest, looking up into his eyes again, "You're a gamble, but right now, you're useless. If you die on Earth, then he doesn't lose anything. If you survive, then you're a powerful piece to utilize against Frieza."

Gray sighed, "I just worked my ass off to beat Kolra, and now I've got another impossible task?"

"Not impossible." Celia hummed, "You don't need to conquer Earth or anything. If you did something that incredible, then Frieza himself would start seeing you as a threat. You just need to help the forces there hold out for a few months. Maybe gain some more territory. Prove to Father that Vargon wasn't a fluke, and he'll have you brought back to finish your training. He explained the mission today as if you'll be able to succeed so that on the off chance you impress him it won't seem as if he was sending you to your death. "

Gray grinned down at her, grabbing her wrist and pulling her finger away from his chest, "Well, why didn't you start with that?"

Here I was thinking that I'd have to ditch the Saiyans and team up with the Z-Fighters if I wanted to survive. Nah, I can last a few months on Earth. Maybe Frieza's set up by a beach and this'll be a vacation?

Gray flinched slightly as Celia reached up, pressing her finger into the front of his nose, "Don't get cocky. This won't be a vacation. It'll be much harder than Vargon."

Gray's eyes widened at her words, Can she really read my thoughts?

"No, I can't read your thoughts." Celia said with a mischievous smile that fit strangely well on her normally emotionless face, "I knew that because of one of the other parts of my ability. I said earlier that seeing someone's potential was only one part of my ability, didn't I?"

Celia slid her finger over Gray's mouth to shush him as he started to speak, smiling wider at him, "You should pay attention more, but I told you before the test: You can do whatever you want, and I'll deal with this type of stuff."

Gray grinned slightly at her words, "Yeah. That's why I have you, right?"

"Yup!" Celia spun around, walking away from him with her hips swaying, "But you should still think a bit, alright? You're so distracted staring at my ass that you didn't even ask about the other part of my ability."

"Ah, right." Gray blushed as he dragged his eyes up from Celia's swaying hips, "How did you know what I was thinking?"

"Another part of my ability is that I can see the mood someone is in and why they're in that mood. I could see that you were confused about if I could read your mind or not, so I knew you were thinking about it. That's also how I know about the situation on Earth, as the last Saiyan soldier to report back from Earth was stressed about their impending doom." Celia explained as she walked towards the door, Gray only half listening as his eyes were glued to her swaying rear again, where her ass shape was visible through the tight Saiyan under armor.

Celia crossed her hands behind her back, covering her ass with her hands, "You should head back and talk to Asia, Tamari, and Saeko now. I'm sure they're concerned about why you were dragged here. I'll come speak to you more about preparing for the mission tomorrow morning."

"Wait. Before you go, do you know who else will be on the mission with us?" Gray asked as he dragged his eyes away from her ass, his face turning serious again.

"No one you know, I'm sure. Mostly a group of misfits and weaker members of Father's forces. I told you, right? We're being sent there with the intention that we never come back." Celia hummed as she stopped by the door, leaning against it as she looked back at him.

"What about the training here? If it's just more basic training for a while, I'm sure Tamari and Asia will be fine, but if there's another exam or anything dangerous coming up, then we'll need to do something to make sure they're fine." Gray said, concerned about how Asia and Tamari would fare while he was gone.

"There shouldn't be another exam for at least half a year, so don't worry about that. If you survive, you'll be recalled in less than half that time. The main threat to them would be other recruits. I'll ensure that they're both under the same instructor as you." Celia said, opening the door as she prepared to leave, "It'd be wise to try and meet with recruits under the same instructor as you and either ensure they won't try anything, or have someone protect the two of them."

Gray nodded at her, "Right. Find out who the other recruits in our class will be, and I'll go talk to them all personally."

"I'll have a list for you by tomorrow." Celia hummed as she walked out of the door.

Gray waited a moment for her to walk away so he wouldn't be awkwardly walking behind her, glancing at the map to burn the image of it into his head.

Why's there so much unlabeled space at the top right of the map? It's hard to believe that soldiers with the ability to fly wouldn't be able to map out all of Earth.

Gray glanced over at the door, making sure Celia was gone, and then started heading out of the room, a grin on his face.

Earth. I'll really be heading to Earth. It'll be scary, but I still have all the rewards from Vargon that I haven't had time to look over. I'll be WAY stronger by the time I arrive on Earth.

He walked out the door, entering into the large throne room again.

I'll get to actually meet my favorite characters. That'll be surreal.

For someone who'd only ever seen the characters on a screen, getting to meet someone like Goku would be amazing.

Goku, Krillin, Master Roshi…

Gray headed toward the large towering door.

And, most importantly…

He paused for a moment to grin up at the large door, lost in thought.

Bulma. I wonder if Goku will be mad if I kill Yamcha?

Gray hummed as he opened the large door and stepped out into the place hallway.

With how fucked up this world is already, maybe Android 18 will already be there?

He started walking down the long hallway.

Meh, if not then at least I'll be able to see Bulma and Chi-Chi. Chi-Chi might be harder to get depending on her relationship with Goku. I wouldn't feel bad about killing Yamcha, but theres no way I'm gonna kill Goku. Maybe they didn't get married in this world?

Gray continued humming happily as he approached the open area that he originally flew into.

I wonder if Maron is there. She's not canon, but maybe? She was a bit of a slut, but she was also made to be a literal younger and hotter version of Bulma, so I'll consider it.

Gray walked onto the ledge and got ready to start flying.

"Whatcha thinking about?"

"Oh, just about some Earth babes," Gray responded as he continued humming happily.

"Oh, nice! Wanna go tell Lord Frieza about them?"

"Huh? Why the hell would I do th-" Gray's words caught in his mouth as he spun around, breaking himself out of his Earth-girl-induced daze. A large purple alien was towering over him.

Oh. Hi, Ginyu.

"Eh? Well, it doesn't really matter if you want to or not. Lord Frieza wants to see you." Ginyu said with a smirk, his arm gripping Gray's shoulder tightly.

Well, fuck.

"Talking"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WhatthefuckWhatthefuckWhatthefuckWhatthefuckWhatthefuckWhatthefuckWhatthefuck

Gray tried to keep his face stoic as he flew behind the large purple alien, following him to who knows where. He looked exactly as he did in the show, with large bulging purple muscles, a shriveled head, and two horns sticking out from the top of his head.

WhatthefuckWhatthefuck- y'know, Ginyu is really ugly. Anyways, WhatthefuckWhatthefuck

Ginyu was also humming happily ahead of him, which only helped to make Gray even more nervous.

What could Frieza possibly want from me? And why the fuck did he send GINYU to come get me? Even if it was Dodoria or Zarbon I'd be freaking out, but GINYU? His strongest soldier? What the fuck?

Gray glanced over at Ginyu, his eyes scanning over the very little information available to him.

[Eccentric] Ginyu:

[Captain of the Ginyu Force]

Age: [31] [58]

PL: ?

HP: ?

TKI: ?

[Eccentric] Modifier - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally eccentric.

Two ages? The fuck? Nothing makes sense anymore.

However, Gray had something much more important on his mind than Ginyu's double ages as a pop-up appeared before him.

[Quest Alert]

Survive the Ginyu Force.

Rewards:

+50 Attribute points (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

+1,000 Coins

+1,000 XP (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

Bonus Rewards:

You will receive bonus rewards depending on how unimpressed [Captain Ginyu] is.

You will receive bonus rewards depending on the state of your body.

Failure:

Death, or worse.

I'm just glad the quest doesn't mention Frieza. Ginyu must have been lying about Frieza wanting to see me, right? Surely. I'm not coping, you're coping.

Gray took a deep breath to calm down.

That bit about the 'state of my body' is concerning. The Ginyu force isn't just going to beat my ass, are they?

Gray continued to fly behind the much larger alien as they approached a spaceship, which looked significantly larger than the tiny Saiyan pod he'd used to get to Vargon. It was circular but was larger in width than in height, looking closer to Frieza's giant ship than a Saiyan pod. It looked like it could fit 15-20 people at most from the outside.

A spaceship? Is he really bringing me to see Frieza?

Gray's worries were partially alleviated as Ginyu paused in front of the ship, landing on the ground and hollering out toward it, "Hey, get out here!"

A different worry was ignited as the spaceship door opened and two figures walked down the ramp. Gray landed next to Ginyu to get a good look at them.

Oh, hey, that's the Ginyu force. Here for little ole F-Class me? Well, guess I'm D-Class now, but that doesn't make it any better.

The first was a tall blue alien whose lean upper body was much larger than his lower body despite his strongest attribute. He was wearing the standard Saiyan armor, which all of Frieza's forces wore.

[Speedster] Burter:

[Fastest in the UniverseTM]

Age: [28]

PL: ?

HP: ?

TKI: ?

[Speedster] Modifier - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally fast and will gain AGI 500% faster.

This is like the [Quick] modifier on steroids.

There was a slightly taller, but much bigger man walking behind him. He looked very human-like and could've passed as a Mr. Olympia competitor if he lived on Earth. He had a mop of red hair on the top of his oval head.

[Physical] Racoome:

[Ginyu Force Squad Member]

Age: [26]

PL: ?

HP: ?

TKI: ?

[Physical] Modifier - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally physical and lean towards physical activities. They will gain STR and END 100% faster.

"Ehhh? Is this little kid the one I'll be playing with?" Racoome hollered dumbly, a big grin on his face as he stepped off the ramp, striding only a few feet away from Gray.

I sure hope not.

"No," Ginyu started.

Thanks, Ginyu.

"You'd destroy the body completely. Even if he dies, the body needs to be intact." Ginyu

Oh. That's not what I wanted to hear.

"Ah, I thought you were bringing me to talk to Fre- Lord Frieza," Gray spoke up, not liking the conversation's direction.

"Eh? Seriously? You stupid or somethin'?" Racoome laughed a little too loudly for Gray's liking, "Lord Frieza? Talk to a little weak Saiyan? BWAHAHAHAHHA!"

Ok, fuck you, and fuck that obnoxious laugh. I'm totally killing you someday.

"Lord Frieza? Well, compared to your pathetic power level, I might as well be Lord Frieza! HEHEHEHEHEHE!" A much smaller figure walked down the ramp, his nasally laugh managing to be even more annoying than Racoome's. His body was completely green, and he was small and round, with two eyes in the middle of his face along with two larger eyes on the side of his head.

[Magical] Guldo:

[Ginyu Force Squad Pet]

Age: [21]

PL: ?

HP: ?

TKI: ?

Reputation: -5/100 (Negatively Viewed)

[Magical] Modifier - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally inclined to obtain magical abilities. They will have MP available from birth.

MP? That must be magic!

Gray stared back at the green frog-like alien as he walked down the ramp.

More importantly, I can't see his power level. This might be the most embarrassing moment of my life. I really am still a weakling if I can't even see fucking GULDO's power level. Fuck man. Fuck this game. Fuck nightmare mode. This shit sucks.

"This is the one you're considering, Captain? He's so weak!" Guldo shouted, looking at Gray with a look of disgust, "Weak! Weak! Weak! And ugly! I already have to see Racoome's ugly face on the daily, am I actually going to have to see his too?"

"Who the fuck are you calling ugly, frog-boy?" Gray couldn't help the words slip out as he was called ugly by Guldo of all people.

"Yeah! Who are you calling ugly, pipsquek?" Racoome backed Gray up, glaring at Guldo.

No, don't back me up here Racoome, you actually are ugly.

"Hmm," Ginyu stepped forward and leaned down, putting his face inches away from Gray's as his eyes scanned Gray's body, "He's not that ugly, right? So it should be fine!"

'Not that ugly?' Have any of you ever looked in a mirror? I'm pretty good-looking, unlike you alien bastards.

"Wait, pause for a second. What's going on here? What am I being considered for?" Gray asked, confused about the change in conversation.

I thought they were just gonna beat my ass, but is Ginyu considering me to be a new Ginyu force member? I mean, it could be fun for a bit before I go against Frieza, and I'd probably get a lot stronger, but why me? How does Ginyu even know about me?

"Hah! Don't worry about it, kid. All you need to know for now is that he's your opponent! Try not to die!" Ginyu said, pointing towards Guldo.

Gray didn't even have a moment to think, as suddenly Guldo was standing a foot away from him, his fist slamming into Gray's stomach. Gray flew backward from the force, stabilizing himself roughly twenty feet back. He glanced down at his hand, which felt sore from the impact.

-1,000HP! (90,450/91,450)

Damn, I didn't even see him move. I barely got my hand up in time. He must've used his time-freeze magic, Gray thought as he recalled Guldo's ability from the show.

"Come on, Saiyan! Don't make us handsome guys look bad!" Racoome shouted to Gray, apparently feeling some camaraderie after Guldo's insults.

Gray tensed his body as his eyes stayed locked on Guldo, looking for any hints that he was going to move again. Instead, Guldo started strolling towards Gray, giving him a moment to think. Gray quickly brought up his stats page.

I haven't even looked at all the rewards I've gotten, and I'm already going to have to use some points just to survive fucking GULDO. Good thing I have a shit ton now after completing the Vargon quest and leveling up twice.

Gray's eyes strayed to his available points before he paused as he heard Guldo speak up, "You blocked that? Is this why you want his body, Captain? His reactions are quick!"

My… body?

"Just continue to fight, Guldo!" Ginyu laughed, not seeming concerned in the slightest about Guldo exposing his intentions.

Oh, fuck. He doesn't want me to join the Ginyu force. He wants to steal my fucking body.

Gray tensed his body again as his mind raced.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. It makes sense now. The reward depending on the state of my body and how unimpressed Ginyu is. I don't know why, but this fight is a test to see if he'll take my body or not. He's not even worried about me finding out either, cuz I wouldn't even know about his ability if it wasn't for my past life!

Gray grunted as a fist slammed into his stomach again, this time making contact. Spit flew from his mouth as Guldo filled his vision for a split second before his body was flung backward. Gray dug his feet into the ground to stop the momentum, allowing him to stay standing as his eyes locked back onto Guldo.

-2,500HP! (87,950/91,450)

That time freeze will be an issue, but his punches don't hurt much. A direct hit from Kolra hurt more. Still, why does Ginyu even want my- Fuck, whatever, focus on the fight for now.

Gray clenched his fist as he put his body into the boxing stance he'd taken from Kolra, his eyes sticking on Guldo. Then he blinked, relaxing his body as he realized something.

Wait… or don't focus on this fight? I need to disappoint Ginyu so he doesn't take my body, so I shouldn't fight seriously. But, also, I don't want to die.

Gray grimaced as Guldo walked toward Gray again, moving leisurely.

"You scared, Saiyan?" Guldo mocked him, sticking out his tongue childishly.

I need to do good enough to not die, but bad enough that Ginyu won't think my body is worth trading his current one for.

Gray utilized [Prediction] as he saw Guldo abruptly clench his fist, and a second later Guldo was inches away from him. Gray pulled his hand upward as he saw the spot Guldo was aiming for, but stopped his hand short so that he only partially blocked the punch, allowing for part of Guldo's fist to slam into his face and send him tumbling to the ground.

-1,500HP! (86,450/91,450)

Gray grunted as he quickly placed his hands under his body, pushing himself back up onto his feet. As he regained his footing he saw Guldo shoot towards him, this time moving without his time freeze magic.

He's not particularly fast, but he's not slow either.

Gray used [Prediction] to once again see where Guldo was aiming his uppercut, tilting his head back so that the punch barely connected. Gray stumbled backward, then stabilized himself and launched himself towards Guldo.

-500HP! (85,950/91,450)

Seriously?

Gray became even more embarrassed about having to lose so badly to Guldo as he saw the frog-like man's reaction to his attack, which was more like a non-reaction. Guldo audibly screamed in panic at Gray's sudden movement and barely leaned backward in an attempt to dodge the punch.

An attempt that should've failed miserably, but Gray purposefully guided his attack upward so that he'd barely miss Guldo's face, leaving himself open as his fist flew over Guldo's head.

This guy really is useless without that time magic, huh? Does that affect his power level somehow? There's no way I shouldn't be able to see his stats if he's this weak!

Guldo's body continued to lean back until he was fully bent backward, his hands and feet both on the ground and his stomach in the air. His feet shot upwards as his hands pushed off the ground, leading to a flying two-footed kick into Gray's chest, whose entire body was exposed as he leaned over Guldo. Gray flexed his pectorals as he saw the kick coming and leaned backward slightly to reduce the damage, but was still launched upward into the air from the kick.

-10,000HP! (75,950/91,450)

Fuck that hurt.

Gray grunted as he slid backward, digging his heels into the sandy terrain around them. He was starting to understand why he couldn't see Guldo's power level.

He's not weak, he's just not very talented at fighting. Similar to how I was against Kolra. The difference is this cheat-ass magic of his. Without that, he definitely wouldn't have survived for so long. I could probably win without using any points, but I don't want to win here.

Gray slashed his hand upward to knock away a rather straightforward ki blast from Guldo, sending it careening into the atmosphere. The ki blast was followed by a flurry of similar blasts, which Gray found himself struggling to keep up with as he repeatedly blocked and deflected ball after ball of ki. Gray swiftly launched himself to the side as his hands couldn't keep up with the speed at which Guldo was sending the blasts, but hunched over again as Guldo's fist suddenly appeared in his side.

-2,500HP! (73,450/91,450)

Guldo followed up with a swift punch to the side of Gray's face, and Gray was sent flying towards the ground, having to place his hands on the ground and do a flip to prevent himself from being completely knocked down.

-2,500HP! (70,950/91,450)

Gray huffed as he tried to catch his breath, not getting the chance to as Guldo seemingly teleported directly in front of him again, a flurry of fists flying at Gray. Gray swiftly dodged the army of punches, but the difference in stats was starting to show as the edges of Guldo's fists started clipping him.

-100HP! (70,850/91,450)
-100HP! (70,750/91,450)
-100HP! (70,650/91,450)
-100HP! (70,550/91,450)
-100HP! (70,450/91,450)
-100HP! (70,350/91,450)
-100HP! (70,250/91,450)
-100HP! (70,150/91,450)
-100HP! (70,050/91,450)
-100HP! (69,950/91,450)

Gray abruptly channeled a ball of ki into his hand, having to take a fist to the chest as he fired a blast into the floor.

-2,500HP! (67,450/91,450)

A cloud of smoke exploded around them, and Gray used the opportunity to shoot backward and create some space.

He wasn't free yet, as his retreat was stopped by a leg slamming into his back as Guldo appeared behind him. Gray was unprepared, and the kick sent his body slamming directly into the dusty ground face-first, his body bouncing back upwards from the impact.

-15,000HP! (52,450/91,450)
Fuck.

Gray scrambled to get back up, launching himself forward and away from Guldo as he focused purely on creating distance. He got a moment of breathing room as Guldo took the chance to mock him.

"You must be getting too old, Captain Ginyu, if you think someone like this is worthy! He's only good as a punching bag! HEHEHEHE!" Guldo hollered.

That annoying ass laugh.

Gray grimaced as he felt the blood pumping through him, his adrenaline starting to kick in.

Calm down. Don't let him get in your head. I don't need to win this fight. Don't give Ginyu a show.

Gray huffed as his eyes stayed locked on Guldo, looking for any that the frog was about to use his magic.

I got cocky because he's fucking GULDO, but he's still a Ginyu force member. I thought I could let him rough me up a bit to look weak, but he really was beating my ass there for a second. Even if his actual fighting ability isn't great, I can't do anything about that time-freeze ability. He just appears out of nowhere.

"So weak! So weak! Scaredy cat little Saiyan! HEHEHEHE!" Guldo giggled, apparently having the time of his life as he bounced on his heels, walking towards Gray.

Fuck you. I'm getting at least one good punch in.

Gray glared at Guldo as his Saiyan nature flared up from Guldo's mocking. Gray launched himself forward at full speed, his fist becoming covered in ki as he aimed his punch directly at Guldo's nose. His fist hit the air as Guldo's entire body disappeared in the blink of an eye, and Gray felt like his back was snapped in half as a leg slammed into his spine from above.

-10,000HP! (42,450/91,450)

Gray wasn't given a moment to recover as he pushed his body up, coming face to face with a ball of ki as he raised his head.

-15,550HP! (26,900/91,450)

Gray's body slumped on the ground momentarily as the full power of a ki blast washed over him, feeling as if his entire body was on fire.

"Fuck…" Gray groaned as struggled to stand, his entire body covered in black burns from the ki explosion.

I'm gonna have to start dumping points into AGI and END just to survive.

Gray blinked and suddenly there was a ball of ki inches from his face, the short green man grinning evilly. Gray hastily pulled his arms upward and partially blocked the blast, only tanking some of the impact.

-2,500HP! (24,400/91,450)

Gray launched himself backward again, his breaths becoming ragged from the repeated attacks.

Fuck. Will I even have time to allocate the points when this little fucker can just pretty much teleport?

Gray was saved from having to hastily allocate his points as Ginyu's voice rang out into the flatlands, "That's enough! Don't kill him, Guldo!"

"Eh? Why not? He's so weak! Weak! Weak! Weak!" Guldo said, giggling to himself once again as he suddenly appeared inches away from Gray, his hand raised with another ki blast. A purple hand suddenly gripped Guldo's wrist, stopping his hand from moving as the ki ball was inches from Gray's face.

"I said stop, moron!" Ginyu grunted as he slammed a fist into the top of Guldo's head, sending him flat into the ground, "I was told wrong, this kid's just an above-average Saiyan. I'm not going to start something with the Saiyan King just because you're having too much fun! There's nothing to gain from this anymore."

Told wrong? Who was telling Ginyu about me?

Gray continued to breathe raggedly as he clutched his stomach, his body sore and injured from the beating. He looked up at Ginyu to ask him but stopped himself.

Don't push it. I'm alive, and I'm still in my body. This is a good outcome.

Ginyu grabbed Guido's limp body off the ground, reminding Gray of the huge difference in their power.

Guldo was just beating my ass, and he one-shot him.

"Sorry for the trouble, kid. Go back to whatever you were doing." Ginyu said as he carried Guldo away, "Racoome! Put Guldo in a healing pod! I need him awake by tomorrow for the mission!"

"Yes, Captain Ginyu! See you later, my younger fellow handsome man! If you ever need help, feel free to ask me!" Racoome shouted as Ginyu tossed Guldo's body to him, giving Gray a thumbs up as he started walking back up the ship's ramp.

"Ah, yeah, I'll let you know…" Gray trailed off.

You just watched me get my ass beat, and even if you didn't, I still wouldn't ask you of all people for help.

Gray watched as Ginyu followed Racoome into the ship, leaving just Gray and Burter in the sandy flatlands. Burter was staring at Gray with narrowed eyes from where he stood in front of the spaceship, roughly 25 feet from Gray.

"What?" Gray asked as the speedster continued staring at him. A split second later he was forced to throw his body to the side desperately as Burter's fist ripped through the air next to him, moving faster than Gray's eyes could follow. Gray tensed as he readied himself for another fight, his eyes glancing at his available points.

"The fuck do you want?" Gray growled as Burter just stared at him again, "You like beating down on injured opponents? I won't go down easy, y'know!"

Burter continued to stare at him with narrowed eyes, then sighed and turned around, "Never mind. None of my business anyways."

"Huh?" Gray asked dumbly as the blue alien walked toward the spaceship, ignoring him. Gray waited until he was fully inside the ship, the ramp rising upwards and closing behind him, to relax. He sighed as he staggered over to a nearby rock, walking around it and sitting down with his back leaning against it. He glanced around to ensure he wasn't in view of the spaceship anymore before he relaxed completely, deflating as he leaned back against the rock.

A skill token? For this quick of a quest?

Gray sighed as he stared at the rewards, a grin forming on his face.

Damn, this day has been tiring. Good thing I slept on the trip back. I'll just sit here for a moment before heading back to let Tamari and Asia know what's going on.

Gray leaned back, his body aching as he looked up at the sunny sky, the shadow of the massive rock blocking out the sun for him. Gray slid to the side, laying down flat on his back as he let his body rest from the numerous blows he'd taken from Guldo.

I didn't get a Zenkai Boost from that - I guess because I wasn't on the verge of death yet. I wish I knew the HP parameters for that skill.

Gray breathed out, blinking away the sun as he rolled over, staring at the rock.

Who told Ginyu about me? Whoever it was, they must've hyped me up big time. In the show, he only went after Goku's body because he was way stronger. I'm like a bug compared to Ginyu right now, so I can't imagine why he'd want my body.

Gray felt his eyelids drag down, his exhausted body feeling like it weighed a thousand pounds.

I can't believe Guldo just kicked my ass. I gotta lock in. I need to get way stronger on this trip to Earth.

Contrary to Gray's thoughts, he did the opposite at that moment.

Fuck I'm sore. I'll lay here for just 5 more minutes. Just 5 minutes.

Gray closed his eyes, and when he opened them again the sky looked significantly darker.

Did I fall asleep? I'm more exhausted than I thought. I should take it easy up until the Earth mission.

Gray stared upwards at the grey sky, showing him that the afternoon sky had transitioned into dusk. He blinked again as two large black balls filled his vision.

Wow, I must really be tired if I'm getting spots in my eyes.

He blinked again, waving his hand above him as he tried to get the spots out of his eyes. However, he froze as his hand physically felt one of the spots, squishing into it. He paused, wrapping his hand around it and squeezing the soft object again.

Is this…

"Tits?" Gray asked dumbly. He turned his face upward, looking up at a red face staring down at him. A black-haired woman in Saiyan under armor was on her knees behind him, leaning over him. Her hair was long, longer then most Saiyan women's hair, and she had a cute angular face with big eyes. Her face was beet red as Gray accidentally groped her, but her eyes were still looking down at him with concern.

What the fuck! I didn't even notice her!

Gray's instincts screamed for him to move, and he hastily rolled to the side as a foot slammed down where his head was. The red-haired woman was wearing Saiyan armor, and glaring down at him. She looked relatively tall and had big breasts that were comparable to the woman kneeling next to him. Her long red hair covered one of her eyes, and her face was round, creating an interesting image between her cute face and big breasts.

"Um… I don't know what to say here…" Gray said as he stared up at the towering woman, trapped in a corner with the rock behind him, Ezra on one side, and Yor kneeling on the other.

This day just never ends, huh?

"Talking"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"PERVERT! PERVERT! PERVERT!" Erza screamed as she stomped and lashed her leg out repeatedly, destroying the massive boulder behind Gray's head as he swerved his head left and right, barely avoiding the woman's foot.

"Wait wait wait! This is just a misunderstanding!" Gray said as he continued to dodge the raging women.

Erza finally stopped as she glared down at him, "Misunderstanding? Well, then clear it up for me! It looks like you were hiding out behind this rock to peek at us while we trained, and then groped Yor's breasts when you got found!"

Gray hurriedly waved his hands, "Not at all! I was just here with Captain Ginyu and the Ginyu Force earlier when I got tired from the… training…yeah, the training we did! So I sat down and fell asleep!"

Gray looked at Yor for help, as she looked much more reasonable than her friend, but Yor just blushed as their eyes met and looked away.

That would've been cute if your friend wasn't trying to cave my head in!

"Really? You were training with Captain Ginyu? THE Captain Ginyu of the Ginyu Force just happened to come to Planet Vegeta, and spent his precious time training you, a no-name Saiyan, in what just happens to be our training spot?" Erza asked, looking down at him with disbelief.

"Well, when you put it like that…"

"Even if I believed your stupid story for some reason, that doesn't explain why you just groped Yor's breasts! What's your excuse this time? The sun was in your eyes or something!?" Erza shouted down at him, making eye contact with him.

Gray stared into her eyes. Erza stared back. Gray stared some more. Erza stared back again.

"You weren't actually going to say that, right?"

"No! No! Of course not! There's no way I thought the sun, which had already set, made spots in my eyes, and that those spots turned out to be Yor's tits…" Gray said, scratching the back of his neck.

"Are you an idiot?" Erza asked incredulously as she stared down at him.

"No! I said that's not what I thought! I just… um… uh… groped them because they were super nice and soft! Like, totally irresistible!" Gray said, knowing immediately that he gave a bad answer as fire reignited in Erza's eyes.

"I'll kill you!" She screamed as she raised her foot upwards again.

"Wait!" Erza stopped her incoming attack as Yor spoke up, turning to look at the older woman.

Yor blushed as she looked away, her arms crossed and covering her breasts, "I'll take responsibility… it's not his fault that my breasts are so irresistible."

She then looked over at Gray, an overly serious look on her face, "When shall the wedding be?"

+100 Reputation with Yor (For seducing her) [4x from [Ladies Man], [A Cute Pawn]]

When the fuck did I seduce her?

"You're not getting married!" Erza shouted as she swatted the back of Yor's head.

"But I still have some vacation days! 10 should be enough for the wedding and honeymoon, right?" Yor asked with an innocent look on her face.

"Lord Frieza doesn't give us vacation days," Erza sighed, looking back at Gray and jerking her thumb towards Yor, "Seriously, what were you doing here? We found you passed out behind this rock, and she got worried."

"I really was training with the Ginyu Force! Though, getting my ass beat would be a better term for it." Gray sighed, leaning back against the giant pile of rubble where the rock once stood.

"Oh, why didn't you just say that," Erza said, her gaze turning softer, "It's not uncommon for Frieza Force soldiers to take out their frustrations on easy targets."

+20 Reputation with Erza (For activating her protective instincts) [4x from [Ladies Man], [A Cute Pawn]]

"Yeah! Lord Zarbon almost killed me when I was still a recruit! Put me in a coma for a whole week!" Yor said, looking overly cheerful as she told the story with a nostalgic smile on her face.

That's not a happy memory, y'know?

"Sorry for judging you too quickly. We haven't done our proper introductions yet, have we? I'm Erza, one of the youngest Frieza Force squad captains, as well as a fellow Saiyan!" Erza said with a grin, holding her hand out for Gray to take.

Gray smiled as he took her hand, letting her pull him to his feet, "I'm Gray, a Saiyan recruit in training. I just finished my first semester and passed the F-Class exam."

"And I'm Yor!" Yor said as she stood up, taking a step towards him with a beautiful and friendly smile on her face, "I'm your fiance!"

"No, you're not! Introduce yourself properly!" Erza said as she glared at the other woman.

"Ah, I'm also Erza's vice-captain, and a Saiyan as well!" Yor finished with a giggle.

Gray grinned, "It's nice meeting both of ya! Thanks for being concerned about me, but I'm all good. I've also got some friends who are probably looking for me, so I'll need to head back to the training building."

"Are you sure you're fine? You could use my healing pod if you need, hubby!" Yor said, looking at Gray with a concerned look on her face, her face flushed red.

"Stop calling him that!"

"Seriously, I'm all good. I heal pretty fast. If you both are Frieza Force members, then I'm sure I'll be seeing more of you both once I graduate." Gray grinned at them both as he started flying upwards.

"Oh, that's right, you're still a trainee! We can have the wedding after you graduate!" Yor shouted up to him as he started flying towards the training building.

Erza sighed again at Yor's words, but smiled softly up at Gray, "Yeah, yeah. Good luck with your training. If you survive and graduate, come see me. I'll see if I can make room in my squad for you."

"Will do!" Gray hollered as he flew away, picking up his speed as he blasted towards the training center.

"Come on, Yor. Let's get back to our training."

+20 Reputation with Yor (Because she likes you) [4x from [Ladies Man], [A Cute Pawn]]

She's way too nice, but having a powerful Frieza Force member be into me isn't a bad thing either. She also looks kinda familiar…

Gray hummed as he racked his brain, wondering where he'd seen the two girls before.

Nah, must be my imagination. I feel like I'd remember those two.

Gray soared through the sky as the training building came into view, and he landed back at the area his Saiyan pod had landed in. It was relatively empty, with just a few instructors milling around as another pod landed. He headed towards the double doors that led to the inside, entering the large hallway as he turned in the direction the cafeteria was. He had to walk a bit further than usual as he looked for the D-Class cafeteria, which wasn't any different from the F-Class one, excluding the fact that only D-Class trainees could eat there and there were better food options. He started walking a bit faster, hoping he'd find Asia and Tamari there.

I doubt it though. I might have to wait to talk to them tomorrow. It's been a few hours, I'm sure they're back in their rooms by now, and maybe even asleep already. They must also be exhausted from the mission.

His fear of missing them today was leviated as he entered the cafeteria, a voice calling out to him, "Gray!"

Asia ran towards him, and Gray couldn't help but let his eyes scan over her body as she did, her decent-sized breasts jiggling with each step. He had to stop himself from whistling appreciatively as he saw her bigger, bubbly ass jiggle as well, being visible even from the front. She stopped right in front of him as she looked up at him with worry, "Is everything okay? I was really worried!"

You are so cute Asia.

Gray grinned, placing his hand on her head and patting it, "I'm all good, don't worry. Just got a new mission already."

"A new mission? We just got back from Vargon!" A voice rang out from behind Asia as Tamari walked up to the two of them. Saeko was with her as well, joining the threesome a few seconds later.

Gray smiled complacently at her, "It's fine. Let me get some food first and I'll tell you all about it, alright?"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Am I coming with you?"

Gray stared across the table at Saeko, who was the last of the trio of girls remaining in the cafeteria. Asia and Tamari had both headed back to their rooms to go to sleep, the exhaustion from the exam still weighing on them. He'd spent the last few hours conversing with the three of them, first about his mission and then about the future of their training. Of course, he'd been vague about what really happened, leaving out that King Vegeta had given him the mission personally, and that said King was sending him on a suicide mission.

"No. I didn't want to worry the Asia and Tamari, but the mission will be really dangerous. It'll be tough even for me to survive." Gray sighed.

"Then it would be better if I came with you, as backup!" Saeko said with a sweet smile.

"Seriously, no. The enemies on Earth are going to make Kolra look like cannon fodder. I won't be able to protect you." Gray countered, looking into her sharp blue eyes.

Well, maybe not cannon fodder. He was still an A-Class recruit, even if he was the weakest one. But if even Frieza Force members can't keep a stronghold on Earth, then I'm sure the opponents I'll meet will be much stronger than Kolra was.

"How sweet that you feel the need to protect me, but I won't need it. I can hold my own. I might not have a big power level like you, but my sword skills more than makeup for it." Saeko said, her eyes narrowing as she continued to stare into Gray's, a bloodthirsty smile creeping onto her face. She crossed her arms under her breasts, pressing them upwards in her Saiyan underarmor.

"Even if you could hold your own, it's not like I can just take you with me in my pod. This is a mission. The members have already decided, and I'm not the leader. I can't just get you in, and I'd need a really good reason if I even wanted to try and convince Raditz."

That's not completely true. I'm sure Celia has enough sway to convince Raditz.

"Just tell him I'm your personal sword holder," Saeko said with a teasing smile as she held up [King's Obelisk], "You definitely didn't leave your masterpiece of a sword, which you said was 'super awesome,' in your pod when we landed, right?"

Gray blinked and blushed as he realized he had, in fact, left his sword in this pod when he was more concerned about meeting the King, "Okay, maybeeeeeee I did that, but I'll keep better track of it on Earth. I'll get a sheath for it and everything now that I have time. I don't need a personal sword holder!"

Saeko's smirk grew even wider, turning almost creepy as she stared down Gray like an animal staring at their prey, "Fine, then just tell him I'm your personal whore!"

"W-What?" Gray stuttered, the words catching in his throat.

"That would be a good reason, right? Then they wouldn't even need to get another pod for me." Saeko smirked as she watched Gray squirm, "You wouldn't mind, right? The pods are pretty small, so I'd have to sit on your lap the whole time. And if there are any problems with your 'joystick,' I could lend a hand…"

"Saeko," Gray groaned, rubbing his face with his hand, "Seriously, it'll be dangerous."

"...Well, if I really can't go, then maybe I should start letting all the other recruits know I'm your personal whore, right? Just to dissuade them from trying anything!" Saeko said, her smirk not leaving her face as she held up her hands in a surrendering gesture, "You Saiyans are all barbarians, right? A poor, helpless Takuthian girl like me, stuck in a building with a bunch of hormone-filled Saiyan brutes, all backed up from having to train constantly. I'd need something to make sure they don't do anything to me, right?"

"Fine…" Gray groaned, "I get it. I'll talk to Raditz, alright? Don't tell anyone anything about you being my… whore."

+200 Reputation with Saeko (For giving into her teasing) [4x from [Ladies Man], [A Humble Master]]

Gray had been steadily gaining a reputation with Saeko over the past day as she slowly started liking him more, just from association. This wasn't uncommon, as he'd constantly get small reputation gains for no major reason from multiple people as he became more familiar with them. However, this reputation boost had skyrocketed his relationship with Saeko to the next level, setting her reputation at over 400.

Saeko's smirk turned into a dominant smile as she stood up, lending forward so her breasts hung down in front of Gray's face where he sat across the table from her, "Great! I'm glad we both agree on this!"

"Yeah, yeah. But don't think I forgot about what you said, y'know?" It was Gray's turn to smirk as he brought his hands up, giving both of Saeko's handing breasts a squeeze, "You'll be in my pod. Don't complain when my, what did you call it? 'Joystick' presses into that nice ass of yours, alright?"

+100 Reputation with Saeko (For not giving in too easily) [4x from [Ladies Man], [A Humble Master]]

Saeko's dominant smile grew even larger as she reached her hand forward, grabbing Gray by his hair and shoving his face forward into her breasts. She leaned forward, whispering into his ear, "Oh, don't worry, I won't. I hope the trip there is nice and long, just like something else…"

She stepped back, freeing Gray's face from her breasts as she stepped around the table, "But for now, I'll be heading to bed. Don't think about me too much tonight!"

"Yeah, yeah. I probably will be, but I'll see you tomorrow. Get all the rest you can in the next few days. We need to be fresh for the mission" Gray said with a defeated sigh.

+40 Reputation with Saeko (For giving into her teasing) [4x from [Ladies Man], [A Humble Master]]

That just seemed like a bit of fun teasing to me, but I guess it was a big deal to her. Does she have a higher reputation than Asia and Tamari now? I'll check later.

Saeko walked away from the table, stopping momentarily to look back at him as she softly slapped her ass through her skirt, then continued walking. Gray leaned his head into the table, feeling exhausted again.

"I thought Saiyan women were supposed to be feisty, but the only non-Saiyan girl so far seems like she'll be the most trouble." Gray mused to himself, "I'm not one to let a woman boss me around, but every harem needs that lead girl, right?"

I figured it'd end up being Bulma, considering she wore the pants in the relationship with even stubborn-ass Vegeta, but she's got some competition.

Gray sluggishly picked his head up, standing up and walking away from the table. He headed back to his room, his mind and body both ready for a good night's sleep after all the excitement from the day. He threw himself onto his bed as he arrived, but forced himself to sit up as he had one more thing to do before heading to sleep. Gray sat on the edge of his bed, an excited smile on his face.

I've got a [Perk Token] and two [Skill Token]'s to use, right?

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"This is… more complicated than I thought it'd be." Gray sighed as his eyes scanned through the [Perk Store]. He was already exhausted from such a busy day, and he didn't think he'd have so many options to choose from.

I thought the [Perk Token] was just going to let me choose one of the perks I missed out on during the start of the game, and that the [Skill Token] would be used for basic skills, like learning the Kamehameha or something.

His thoughts were very wrong. If Gray were a little smarter, he would've remembered that the game told him at the start that the starter perks he didn't choose would never be available again, but that felt like a lifetime ago at this point. Gray glanced up at the [Perk Store] description again.

[A store to buy perks]

[Perk categories:]

[Common - Cost 1 Perk Token]

[Rare - Cost 3 Perk Tokens]

[Epic - Cost 5 Perk Tokens]

[Legendary - Cost 10 Perk Tokens]

[Godly - Cost 20 Perk Tokens]

[World-Breaking - Cost 50 Perk Tokens]

The [Skill Store] had a similar layout, with the prices in each tier being the same.

How the hell would I ever get 50 [Perk Token]s? It seems like I'll have to choose between shooting for one super-OP perk/skill or being able to get a bunch of decent ones. Might as well start saving up, I guess. Most of the common perks aren't great anyways.

Gray had a small notebook in his hand, ready to write down any perks and skills that seemed useful.

The common perks all shared the theme of giving a small boost to some aspect, usually by 5%. Gray's eyes scanned the long list of common perks, making sure he wasn't missing out on a hidden gem.

[A Quick Learner] - Gain INT 5% faster.

[Muscle-Bound] - Gain STR 5% faster.

[A Charmer] - Gain 5% more reputation from all sources.

[A Speedy Learner] - Gain AGI 5% faster.

There were hundreds of common perks for seemingly every aspect of life, ranging from gaining 5% more coins to lasting 5% longer in bed.

Honestly, they're helpful for sure, but compared to the other tiers? Nah, might as well save up.

The rare perks were a bit more enticing but seemed more angled toward personalized builds. Most of them were either improved versions of the common perks, or sacrificed something to get an actually impactful boost to something else.

[A Quicker Learner] - Gain INT 20% faster.

[Work Smart, Not Hard.] - Gain INT 100% faster, but gain STR 25% slower.

[A Charmer…er?] - Gain 20% more reputation from all sources.

[Who Needs Speed When You Have Muscles?] - Gain STR 100% faster, but gain SPD 25% slower.

I doubt I'll ever get any of these either. Sacrificing one stat to boost another is not something I want to do, and the 20% boosts aren't worth it compared to the other tiers.

Epic was where things started getting interesting. The perks were less focused on stat boosts, and more on seemingly random benefits.

[Stay Healthy!] - Regain 25% of lost HP upon leveling up a skill.

[Senzu Farmer] - Gain 1 Senzu Bean whenever a skill reaches level 10.

[Womanizer] - Become a natural womanizer. Your reputation with all women will start at 100.

[Skill Machine] - Upon learning a new skill, learn another random one of the same caliber.

Now that the perks weren't so centered around stats, there was a lot more. The store page contained seemingly thousands of skills, and Gray didn't think he had the mental awareness to look through them all at the moment.

Realistically, this will be the section of perks I choose from the most. There's bound to be some random OP shit mixed in here somewhere. Even the few I've looked at so far seem good, and the 5-token cost is actually obtainable. Assuming I get a [Perk Token] after every major quest, I could potentially afford one by the time I come back from Earth.

The legendary section was too large for Gray to completely look through as well, but just from a glance he could tell that the perks were worth the high price. He recognized some of the skills as well, realizing that some fit perfectly with the character's abilities from the show.

[Form-Changer] - Obtain a physical transformation, which will boost all your stats immensely. This perk is stackable.

Frieza's definitely just got 3 of those, right?

[Combat Genius] - Become a martial arts genius. Gain all stats 200% faster, xp 200% faster, skill xp 200% faster, and obtain the ability to learn a skill at LVL1 after seeing it be used.

That's what Goku has for sure.

[One-Trick Pony] - Learn one skill of your choice, ranked Epic-Common, and have it become MAXLVL instantly.

Krillin's destructo disk, probably. Despite Krillin being an ant in comparison, this attack could've literally cut Frieza's head off. It's such a basic technique too. Asia uses a similar one.

[Kai] - Obtain the potential to ascend into a Kai.

Meh, maybe? I don't know what that entails.

[Gacha King] - Raises your odds on Epic and above rarities when using Gacha's.

Very useful, but I'm not a gambler. Well… maybe I'm not a gambler… maybe.

Gray had already found one of the 'Gachas' it was referring to, but he'd think harder on that after looking over the perks and skills more. Gray glanced at the list of Godly perks.

It'll be a long time before I can afford any of these, but damn are they OP.

[God of Destruction] - Obtain the potential to ascend into a God of Destruction.

[God Ki] - Obtain God Ki.

[Angelic] - Obtain the potential to ascend into an Angel.

[Godly Protection] - Start with 1000 reputation with all beings who have any divinity.

All of the Godly perks were in the same theme, involving the Kai's or God's in some way.

Definitely end-game perks. I can see why they're so expensive. Even just one of these could set me up to have strength on the same level as the Gods of Destruction.

Finally were the World-Breaking perks, which fit the tier's name perfectly.

These are quite literally world-breaking. Just one would make me one of those cheat-skill Isekai protagonists.

[God of Love] - All women will start with MAXLVL reputation.

So just every woman in the world is obsessively in love with me.

[God of Martial Arts] - Copy any marital art you see, but use it at double the proficiency.

Perfectly balanced. Nice Kamehameha, Goku. Sure would be a shame if I just used it, except twice as strong. Oh, Frieza? Cool transformations! Watch as I transform 6 times, okay?

[Immortality] - Become Immortal.

Pretty self-explanatory, but also kinda lame. I could just use the dragon balls to do that like Zamasu did, right? Why would I waste perk tokens on this?

[Dragon Tamer] - Obtain a pocket Shenron. You can summon this familiar once a week to grant you 3 wishes.

Just a free set of Dragon Ball wishes every week? Super fair.

Gray decided that he'd save his [Perk Token] for now. He had to save up even if he just wanted an epic anyway, and he could decide to save for an even higher tier if he found out that the tokens were less rare than he thought. He turned his gaze to the [Skill Store], which had the same tier names as the [Perk Store]. Similar to the perks available, the common skills weren't very appealing.

I know skill tokens are probably more common than perk tokens, but why the hell would I ever waste one on a common skill?

There was a seemingly infinite number of common skills, as Gray had scrolled for a good few minutes and still not reached the bottom. Most of them were for the most mundane things.

[Cooking] - Your ability to cook food.

[Dancing] - Your ability to dance.

[Flipping] - Your ability to do a flip.

[Swimming] - Your ability to swim.

This might be the most useless tier ever. Couldn't I just toss some meat over a fire and get the cooking skill for free?

The rare tier was significantly better, at least focusing on combat-related skills for the most part.

[Ki Blade] - Create a blade made of Ki.

[Tracking Ki Blast] - A Ki blast that will track your opponent, following them until it is destroyed.

[Ki Swordsmanship] - The ability to infuse Ki into your blade.

Not bad at all, but not worth the skill tokens either.

Similar to the situation with the perks, the skill shop only started having worthwhile skills in the epic section.

[Kamehameha] - A powerful Ki beam, strengthened by a righteous heart.

[Gallack Gun] - A powerful Ki beam, strengthened by an evil heart.

[Tri-Beam] - A powerful triangle of raw Ki, causing recoil to its user.

[Special Beam Cannon] - A powerful condensed Ki beam, becoming stronger the longer it's charged.

Most of the epic skills were in the same theme: signature moves from characters in the series or powerful and destructive attacks.

I hope I can learn some of these moves, like the Kamehameha, naturally but this is a good backup plan. I hope skill tokens turn out to be pretty common because I'm going to shoot for a big technique.

The legendary category was similar to the epic category in the sense that the techniques were mostly signature moves, but this time, they were on a whole new level.

[Spirit Bomb] - Gather all the Ki around you into a condensed ball.

[Kaio-Ken] - Double your power temporarily at the expense of immense strain on your body.

However, there was one skill in particular that caught Gray's attention. It wasn't one he recognized from the show.

[Cognitive Acceleration] - Increase your cognitive function, allowing you to think quickly.

It wasn't big or flashy, but Gray could already see the benefits it would bring. He tapped on the skill to get a more in-depth explanation.

[Cognitive Acceleration] - Increase your cognitive function, allowing you to think quickly.

[LVL1 Description - Temporarily increase your cognitive function at the expense of a 10th of your total Ki per second. While your cognitive function is increased, you will receive all information and senses twice as fast.]

At first, he thought the skill would be the same as bullet-time, with the world slowing down around him since his brain was looking quicker, but that idea was put to rest when he saw the actual [Bullet Time] skill in the godly category.

This is still super useful though. My reaction speed would be faster, and I'd be able to make decisions on the fly better. Receiving information from my eyes would essentially be a mini-version of bullet time as well, as I'd see things quicker than usual. I'll keep this one in mind, even though the Ki cost seems pretty high.

Surprisingly, there was one more skill in the legendary category that looked out of place.

[Solar Flare] - Emit a large flash of light, temporarily blinding enemies.

Such a simple technique looks out of place in the legendary category, but I guess it's actually pretty OP. I feel like it blinded literally everyone in the show, right? Didn't Krillin even use this shit on Frieza to get away?

Gray hoped he'd be able to learn the solar flare naturally, either from his own practice or from someone like Krillin or Roshi, but he wrote down the technique anyway. Of course, he'd still rather get a [Godly] or [World-Breaking] tier skill, but the cost ramp-up past legendary made that seem impossible. Granted, the high cost was worth it. The godly category was game-changing.

[Time-Skip] - Accelerate through time, skipping ahead a determined amount - but only for yourself.

Hit's ability. Makes sense, he could go toe-to-toe with Super Saiyan Blue Goku because of it.

[Stone Body] - Turn the fluids in your body into a petrifying substance. Anyone who comes into contact with it will be turned to stone.

Dabura's spit thing? It did work instantly on Piccolo I guess.

[Candy-Beam] - A beam that turns anyone who it touches into a piece of candy.

A cheesy technique, but also not worth it. It'd be OP early game, but later on, it'll be worthless. Vegito just became a sentient candy and continued beating Buu's ass.

[Evil-Containment Wave] - A wave that can seal anyone who has evil in their heart.

This one is… interesting. It seems hard to hit, but when it was used successfully it could seal even fused Zamasu. But, I'd rather try to learn this from Roshi then spend tokens on it.

[Instant-Transmission] - Teleport to any Ki-containing location instantly.

Goku just casually has a lot of broken skills and perks, huh?

The world-breaking skills were, just like the perks, actually world-breaking.

[Altered Reality] - Change reality.

Janemba's technique. It could literally bring back the dead, right? The possibilities with something like this are pretty endless, too. I'm glad Janemba isn't very smart.

[Time-Freeze] - Freeze time around you for as long as you can hold your breath.

Seems out of place since it's fucking GULDO's ability, but it really is broken. We're planet-busters, I could probably hold my breath for half an hour, longer if I trained for it. Guldo being Guldo is the only reason he hasn't taken over the universe with this yet.

[Kai-Kai] - Teleport to any location instantly.

Ah, the Kai's version of instant transmission. You don't need to lock onto any energy, and you can move between dimensions.

[Body-Swap Beam] - Change bodies with a chosen opponent.

Another Ginyu Force technique? Though it makes sense since I could just use it to swap bodies with Beerus or, hell, maybe even Zeno.

[Carrot-Touch] - Turn anyone you touch into a carrot.

An OG Dragon Ball technique being here? Being able to turn someone like Beerus into a carrot the second he punches me is pretty OP, I guess.

[Devilmite Beam] - A beam that instantly kills anyone with evil thoughts.

Now, this is what I expected to be here. An underrated skill from OG Dragon Ball again. Most people I'll ever fight will be trying to kill me, so it's pretty much just a one-shot beam.

Gray sighed as he fell back flat on his bed, "I want one of those world-breaking or godly skills, but they're so expensive. Am I really gonna be patient enough to save up?"

Gray hummed as he looked a the cost of each tier again, then chuckled to himself, "Of course I'm not. 50 tokens? Are you fucking kidding me? I'll be 50 years old by the time I get that damn many!"

Gray sat up, looking over the part of the shop he'd been intentionally avoiding.

Let's go gambling!

Thoughts

"Talking"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gray glanced at his luck stat, which sat at a solid 155.

Is it worth it?

He glanced back at the odds of the [Gacha] system.

[Perk Gacha]

Cost - 1 Perk Token

Rates:

Common - 65%

Rare - 20%

Epic - 10%

Legendary - 4%

Godly - 1%

World-Breaking - 0.1%

Your LUK will also increase your odds of rarer pulls by an amount.

Thanks for telling me what the amount is, stupid game.

Just like the perk and skill shops, the perk and skill gachas had the same categories and odds.

"Honestly," Gray mused as he studied the rates, "these odds aren't terrible. Statistically, the value of each token is pretty good. Using 10 tokens would give me about a 60% chance of getting a legendary. Sure, I wouldn't get to choose which one, but I'd also get nine other lower-rarity perks in the process, plus a boosted chance for even higher tiers."

Gray glanced over at the pity system, which was swaying him in favor of using the [Gacha].

Pity System:

For every rarity of perk rolled, the rarities above them will increase in odds by 0.5%, excluding World-Breaking, which will increase by 0.05%.

Rolling a category will reset the pity for that category to 0.

Even here, there's a system designed to get you addicted to gambling.

"It's probably gonna work on me too," Gray sighed, glancing back at his luck stat. "I wanted to save my points to adapt to dangerous situations like I've been doing so far, but this might be worth it."

It's not like the boosted luck stat will only help in the gacha - It'll give me an edge in pretty much every aspect of life. I just hope it doesn't end up costing me my life when I go to Earth and don't have enough AGI to keep up with some speed demon.

"The overall values are pretty good… and it would be fun…" Gray murmured. "Imagine I get a [World-Breaking] perk on my first try. That'd be fucking awesome. It won't happen, but if it did, it'd be fucking awesome."

"Fuck it, we ball." Gray decided, slamming half of his available points into luck, raising it to 455. He decided to try the [Skill Gacha] first since he had two of those tokens.

Come on, game. Don't fuck me over for once.

[Rolling…]

[LEGENDARY Skill!]

Oh, fuck yeah.

[Congnitive Accelration] Skill unlocked!

+10000 XP (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

[Cognitive Acceleration] LVL 1 - Increase your cognitive function, allowing you to think quicker.

+10 INT for unlocking an INT-related skill! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

Gray blinked in surprise as he saw the skill. He looked around his room, looking up at the ceiling, "Beerus? Zeno? You guys here?"

How the fuck did I not only get a legendary but also the one I wanted earlier? Is this rigged? Is a god watching over me? Is the luck stat OP? What the hell is going on?

"Well, I gotta roll again now, don't I?" Gray grinned. "I'm not one to be greed—well, I am one to be greedy—but I was going to stop if the first roll was just decent. After this? I have to roll again."

Maybe it's my increased luck stat? Am I just gonna roll all legendaries now?

Gray used his second [Skill Token] and rolled the gacha again.

[Rolling…]

[Rare Skill!]

It's not legendary, but hey, I'll take it. One legendary and one rare is still great.

[Ah! Lord Frieza!] Skill unlocked!

+1000 XP (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

[Ah! Lord Frieza!] LVL 1 - Shout "Ah! Lord Frieza!" in a panicked tone while pointing behind your enemy, giving the illusion that Frieza is standing behind them.

+10 INT for unlocking an INT-related skill! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

"...really?"

Gray tapped the skill, hoping that he was missing something.

[Ah! Lord Frieza!] LVL 1 - Shout "Ah! Lord Frieza!" in a panicked tone while pointing behind your enemy, giving the illusion that Frieza is standing behind them.

This is a skill created by Cui, one of Frieza's henchmen. How convincing you are depends on the LVL of this skill.

LVL 1 - This skill has a 5% chance of tricking your enemy, regardless of any prior knowledge of Frieza.

"This might be the shittest skill I've ever seen." Gray said, rubbing his face with his hands in despair, "300 points into luck… all for this shit…"

It's fine, it's fine. One awesome legendary skill, one shitty rare one. It evens out. Overall, I'm happy.

"It can't get any worse… right?" Gray glanced at the [Perk Gacha], "No, I should quit now while I'm still… ahead? Even? Not depressed, at least."

Gray glanced back at the odds, then pulled up the [Perk Shop] to review some of his options again.

No, let's be safe. For now at least. I don't know how often I'll get these perk tokens, it would suck if I got a common one right here.

Gray stood up and changed out of his under armor into something more comfortable, "Who knows, maybe that dumbass rare skill will actually come in clutch."

Ever heard of foreshadowing?

Does foreshadowing work if I'm the one thinking about it?

Gray laid down in his bed, sleep consuming him immediately after his long day.

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Fuck, already?" Gray groaned as he sat up, looking at his door. A thumping noise resounded through his room as someone knocked on it from the outside. Gray glanced at the clock, showcasing that he had actually gotten an entire night's sleep, despite how tired his body and mind still felt.

Gray stood up and dragged himself over to the door, opening it to see Celia standing there, a stack of papers in her hands. She was wearing the traditional black Saiyan under armor, which pretty much everyone at the base wore.

"Morning," Gray said.

"These are the recruits who will be in the same class as you, Tamari, and Asia," Celia said as she handed him a paper, ignoring his greeting, "And these are the candidates being considered for the Earth mission."

"Candidates?" Gray raised an eyebrow as he took the paper, "The squad isn't finalized yet? The mission's in a few days, right?"

"It's mostly finalized. The last few spots will depend on which of Father's enemies, or people he dislikes, he chooses to send with us." Celia said, turning to walk away without a goodbye, as was usual with the emotionless girl.

"Wait," Gray said, grabbing her arm before she could leave, "I'll need help looking through these. Just knowing their names won't help much, I need information about them too. Stay and help me for a bit."

Celia turned and looked at him, the same usual emotionless look on her face, but Gray swore he saw her lips twitch slightly, "I'm flattered, but this is too sudden. I might be a bastard, but my purity is still important. I could still be a part of an arranged marriage. You'll have to wait until after you kill my Father."

Gray gave her a deadpanned look, "I didn't know you had a sense of humor. Just get in here and help me out."

Celia's lip twitched again as she stepped passed him, walking into his room and sitting on the edge of his bed. Gray closed the door and sat next to her, holding the first paper to the side so that they both could look at it.

"So, who should I be looking out for on here?" Gray asked as he gestured to the list of recruits that would be in his class.

"There are a few concerns," Celia said, "Obviously, there's no one stronger than you on here. Your strength is around the level of the weakest A-Class and strongest B-Class recruits. There are only two or three D-Class members that could cause you some trouble, and none of them are under the same instructor as you."

Gray blinked in surprise, "Two or three? I'm surprised there are any that are even close to me. The D-Class we fought on Vargon weren't even close to where I am now."

"The ones we fought were on the weaker side compared to the average D-Class Saiyan," Celia said as she turned her body slightly to look directly at him, "But you're correct. Most of the top Saiyans under each instructor wouldn't be able to put a scratch on you, but there are a few outliers. Some F-Class's who ascended during the exam, or who have abilities or fighting styles that would be annoying for you to deal with. Regardless, your strength is irrelevant for now."

"Tamari and Asia don't share that same strength, and you'll be on Earth for the next two months, not here to protect them." Celia continued, "The best option would be for Saeko to watch over them. She's strong enough to hold her own against most, and her sword skill is good enough to protect them from anyone except for the few outliers in D-Class, none of which they should ever come into contact with for the most part."

"Can't happen," Gray said with a sigh, "She's deadset on going to Earth with me. You can get her into the squad, right? Or at least find a pod for her to follow us with."

"Yes, it won't be a problem," Celia said, moving her finger toward a name on the paper, "If she's not here, then he would likely be the next best option."

Gray looked at the name she was pointing at, which read 'Ren.'

"Who's he?" Gray asked.

"Ken's 'brother.'" Celia said, making air quotes with her fingers, "Ken had a group of 5 fellow muscle heads that he trained with. Ren's the strongest of the bunch."

Oh, right. Ken joined our team for the exam because each team could only have up to five members, and his group had six.

"Why him in particular?" Gray asked. "He didn't stand out when I saw him in training. Ken was stronger, and even if he were still alive, I wouldn't trust him alone to protect Tamari and Asia."

"Four out of the five members of his exam team came back alive," Celia said. "Their team was strong, but not smart. They shouldn't have passed at all. The only reason they did was because Ren got a huge power boost when one of their members was killed."

"Really? What's his power level?" Gray asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I haven't checked with a scouter, so I can only estimate based on what I sensed. I'd say roughly a third of yours," Celia explained.

Gray whistled, "Damn, so he's around 10 million? He's probably the strongest in our group after me, right?"

Let's hope he doesn't hold a grudge for what happened to Ken. I'd be in a tough spot if he was angry that Ken died during the exam and took it out on Asia or Tamari, but Ken's group seemed like good guys when I trained with them.

"Close. That's where our biggest concern comes in," Celia said, pointing to another name on the paper: 'Bareth.'

"Bareth?" Gray asked.

What a stupid name.

"Yes. He's the second strongest recruit in your instructor's group, after you. Does his name sound familiar?" Celia asked, her eyes staring into his seriously.

Gray racked his brain, trying to remember if he'd seen the name before. "I don't think so… wait. Dareth?"

Bareth? Sounds awfully close to Dareth. I can't believe I didn't pick up on that right away. I can feel myself becoming more of a stupid muscle head every day I'm on this planet. Also, are their parents fucking morons? Dareth and Bareth? I think they were destined to be dumbasses with names like that.

"Correct. That's his brother," Celia said. "In case you're curious, Dareth survived the exam. I don't know if he's mentioned you to his brother, but Bareth is similar to Dareth: stupid, arrogant, but with a lot of potential."

Gray clenched his fist at Celia's words, unsure how to feel.

I would've been satisfied if Dareth died during the exam, but now that he's alive, I don't know what to do. I'd have no trouble killing him at this point, both from being stronger and from having no mental barrier holding me back. However, it'd be hard to now that we're not under the same instructor. I can't just hunt him down. I can't get too arrogant. I'm strong, but not strong enough to do whatever I want without consequences.

"If I threaten him, do you think he'll behave?" Gray asked, looking at Celia seriously.

"Maybe. He can't hold a candle to your strength right now, but he's still stronger than Tamari and Asia. Most of the recruits who survived the exam are on the stronger side. Asia and Tamari are, unfortunately, the exception. They would've died if you and I hadn't been with them." Celia's tone matched his seriousness.

I think I did all the hard work, but sure, lump yourself in with me.

"Fuck, fine." Gray sighed, standing up and stretching, "I'll find him and talk to him. Just to see what he's like. If he acts like his brother, I'll beat the shit out of him a bit. If he seems alright, I'll play nice so he won't mess with Asia or Tamari."

"I'd recommend the latter," Celia said, "Just for future reasons. Once you're in Class-C, having strong friends will be necessary."

"What do you mean?" Gray asked curiously as he looked down at Celia.

"Class-D will have an exam, just as Class-F did, but Class-C doesn't. It was only due to Frieza pressuring my Father to decrease Saiyan numbers that all of the classes participated in the previous exam. Frieza's fear of us is starting to override our usefulness in the war." Celia said, looking up into his eyes.

"So, what happens in Class-C instead of an exam?" Gray asked.

"An internal war," Celia began. "All recruits under each instructor will compete to move up to B-Class. Everyone is ranked by their power level, and only a set number will advance. If you don't rank high enough, you'll be expelled. Recruits can do anything to improve their rank, including killing. The class will essentially become a faction war, with groups fighting to climb the ranks."

"Buuuut!" Gray said with a grin. "You can make sure we're all under the same instructor again, right? You, me, Asia, and Tamari. I'll make sure we all rank high enough to pass."

"I can," Celia said, raising a hand to calm Gray's enthusiasm. "But it won't be as easy as you think. Even if you become stronger on Earth and remain the strongest in C-Class, you'll face entire groups of top-ranked C-Classers, some of whom will have backing from recruits in higher classes. If it were just you, I'm confident you'd be fine," Celia added. "But it's not just you. Asia and Tamari are weak, even for D-Class. If they don't improve significantly in the next few months, they'll be burdens."

Who cares? After I get back from Earth, I'm sure I'll be even as strong as the S-Class fuckers. No one will mess with us.

"So? I'll get strong enough to handle that burden. I'm not abandoning them, and I'm not letting anyone take what's mine," Gray countered, a predatory grin spreading across his face.

Celia sighed, "I know. I'm not saying you should, I'm saying you should make it easier for yourself. Make some strong friends so they can help you out. No matter how strong you are, you can't be everywhere at once. It'll be hard to protect them both constantly, especially in the higher classes."

She's… not wrong. If someone went and killed Asia, they'd die for it. But, me getting revenge wouldn't change the fact that she died. They could do what Dareth did and go after one of the girls while I'm busy somewhere else. You would think no one would be dumb enough to sacrifice their life to piss me off, but these are Saiyans we're talking about

Gray rubbed his temples, clearly frustrated, "Fine, fine. I'll play nice, but if Bareth is an asshole, I'm going to beat the shit out of him. Same thing if Ren holds a grudge for Ken's death." Gray gave in, "How many people will be with the same instructor anyway?"

Celia nodded, acknowledging his resolve. "It's good to be prepared. As for how many will be with the same instructor, it's a bit uncertain right now. Normally, there are around 500-1000 recruits when considering both newly promoted D-Class and those returning from the previous semester. Given that the exam was intended to cut down the numbers significantly, we might see 200 at most, depending on how many instructor groups are kept."

"That's not ideal. Having 2000 other trainees in F-Class made it hard to stand out. It'll be easier for annoying people to take notice of Tamari and Asia," Gray mused, then pushed the thoughts away, "Anyways, tell me about our squad members for the Earth mission!"

"First, you know Raditz. He'll be the squad leader. Along with him, the vice-squad leader is named Asuna. Have you heard of her?"

Ah, Asu- who now?

"Talking"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Who?"

"Asuna."

Ok, this game has to be trolling me. There's no way that Asuna is the Asuna I know, right? But why the fuck would any sane Saiyan name their daughter Asuna?

Gray mainly stuck with mainstream shows, with Dragon Ball being his favorite, but even he'd seen SAO.

It was literally everywhere for a good couple of years.

"She's a recently graduated recruit. This is her first mission as Raditz's vice-captain, and she was assigned that position because of the way she graduated." Celia continued.

Gray pushed his thoughts out of his brain, deciding that she had to just be a Saiyan conveniently also named Asuna, "The way she graduated?"

"Her family is… odd, for Saiyans. I like them, actually. They use their brains. Her father has ties to an elite in the Frieza Force, and he got her to graduate as an A-Class. Father took her as one of his troops as payback and put her with Raditz so she'd die on Earth." Celia explained.

"So, should I assume she's pretty weak?" Gray asked the green-haired girl.

"She's very weak compared to most vice-captains. She's even weak compared to most A-Class trainees. She's probably a bit stronger than Kolra was." Celia answered.

"That's not great to hear," Gray sighed, "We're being sent to a planet where even the Frieza Force is being defeated, and all we have as reliable backup is Raditz."

"Don't act so hopeless, it's weird on you. The rest of the squad isn't weak by any means, and you'll have me and Saeko as well, though I'm hoping you'll do the heavy lifting." Celia said with a soft smile.

"Oh, yeah. I've never actually seen your full power, since you're always hiding it. How strong are you?" Gray asked, smiling back at her.

She has a nice smile, but it's weird seeing it when her face is always so blank.

"Luckily, I brought a scouter with me. I was going to use it to get a more accurate read on some of the soldiers who'll be on the mission with us, but you can use it for now." Celia said, her face going blank again as she stood up, pulling a scouter out from her back pocket and handing it to him.

Gray put on the scouter to keep up appearances, then used [Observe] on the girl.

So, she's a bit of a glass cannon? A high power level, and an insane amount of Ki, but not much HP. More importantly…

"You're this strong, and you didn't help with Kolra? Hell, you could've taken him by yourself when he first showed up!" Gray asked, staring at her incredulously.

"Actually, I wasn't this strong," Celia said, staring down at her hand, clenching and unclenching it slowly, "I still don't understand why, but I became much stronger on Vargon. When Kolra first appeared, I was close to you in strength. As I cleaned up the remaining small and large-kind on Vargon, I noticed my Ki increasing rapidly. Even during your last battle with Kolra, I felt stronger just by watching your Ki's clash."

Is this because of the party system? Assuming she gained a shit ton of xp from killing all the remaining inhabitants of Vargon while I was getting my sword and fighting Kolra, she probably leveled up a few times, which would explain why she got so much stronger. I should check Asia and Tamari and see if they got stronger too.

"Ah, I'm not sure why either," Gray lied, scratching the back of his neck, "but whatever, I guess it's fine that you didn't help with Kolra if you explain it like that. You can make up for that by actually fighting on Earth, you're strong enough to be a good support with Ki attacks."

"Yes, I'll do my best to support you," Celia said, her lips twitching into a smile again.

"Good. Now, anyone else I should know about coming with us to Earth, or just a bunch of cannon fodder?" Gray asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Cannon fodder isn't the right word, at least for some of them." Celia started, "The entire squad will be 50 members, excluding you, me, and Saeko. While Raditz may be the weakest squad leader, and Asuna a very weak vice-captain, they are still one of Father's elite squads. I'd estimate that around 20 members, excluding Raditz, are above your power level. The majority of the other 30 are around your level of strength."

"Wait, really?" Gray asked in surprise, "Since this is a suicide mission, I thought we'd be going with a bunch of useless guys."

Also, that means that the vice-captain is weaker than most of the squad members, right? With how much of an ego most Saiyans have, I imagine that'll become an issue.

"Remember where we're heading," Celia reminded him, "Earth is dangerous. Frieza sent entire Frieza Force squads there, and they can't even maintain a stronghold. Squads that were strong to the point that even their weakest members outclassed Raditz. Our squad is certainly 'a bunch of useless guys.'"

"Oh, right."

Don't get too cocky. Still, I won't complain about having some strong companions.

"But," Celia said, reaching out and laying her hand on Gray's chest, "With how fast you've been growing stronger, I'll be relying on you to keep us safe. This mission should be impossible, but you'll make it possible, right?"

"Of course," Gray responded with a toothy grin, "It'll probably be tougher than Vargon was, but I'll make sure we come back alive."

"Good," Celia responded, reaching up and pulling the scouter from Gray's face, then turning around and walking to the door, "I'll go get some more accurate numbers on our squad members for you. I'll make a list of all of them."

She paused as she grabbed the handle, turning back towards Gray and tossing the scouter at him, "On second thought, you can keep this."

"Huh? What am I gonna use this for?" Gray asked, staring at the green scouter in his hand.

"Besides it being all-around useful for seeing everyone's power level," Celia explained, "It also works as a transmitter, remember? I'll get one for Asia, Tamari, and Saeko as well. It'll be useful for the mission, and you can keep in contact with Asia and Tamari while you're gone."

"Oh, right!" Gray grinned down at the scouter, which doubled as an intergalactic cell phone, "Why didn't we use these on Vargon? I feel like it would've come in handy."

"We," Celia stressed the word as she deadpanned at Gray, "Did use them. As in, me, Asia, and Tamari used them to communicate when we got split up."

"You," Celia said, narrowing her eyes at Gray, "Had yours in your pocket when you transformed into an Ozaru, and destroyed it."

"Oh," Gray said, looking away innocently.

This Saiyan body is definitely fucking me up. I wasn't a super-genius or anything in my past life, but I wasn't dumb either. I'm totally becoming dumb.

"Don't lose it this time, and get some sleep. You look tired." Celia finished as she turned back to the door.

"Don't need to tell me twice," Gray said as he fell back into his bed. He watched as Celia opened the door and walked out, his eyes lingering on her ass in the tight Saiyan under armor for a little too long.

Gray stared up at the ceiling for a few moments, before sighing and pushing himself up, "I'll just head to sleep early tonight. I got shit to do today."

Mainly, finding Bareth and Ren.

Gray walked over to his door, pulling it open and having to pause as he nearly bumped into the person standing outside.

A small girl was staring up at him, her hand raised as if she was about to knock on the door. She blushed and looked down, staring at her feet.

"Ah, um, uh, hi!" The short girl had chestnut-colored hair, and a cute, soft face. She was dressed in the standard Saiyan under armor, which practically everyone wore outside of training, which showed off her thin body. Similar to Asia, she did not look like a Saiyan in the slightest. While Gray had seen some beautiful Saiyan women, most of them still had a level of hardness. Toned muscles, a stern face, or sharp eyes. This girl fit into the short list of Saiyans that could pass as normal human girls. Said list only consisted of her, Asia, and Shizuka.

And maybe that Librarian.

"Hi?" Gray responded, raising an eyebrow at the short girl. He used [Observe] on her.

I thought so. This is the same Asuna I saw in my past life. Why the fuck is she here? I am in the DBZ universe, right?

"Um, I'm Asuna! Nice to meet you!" The blushing girl said, jutting her hand out quickly to offer Gray a handshake.

Gray grabbed her smaller hand, shaking it lightly, "Nice to meet cha, I'm Gray."

The thin girl blushed again, staring at their intertwined hand. She continued to stare, not saying a word, until the silence became awkward for Gray.

"So…" Gray stretched the word, "Why were you standing outside of my room?"

"Um, ah, right!" Asuna said, ripping her hand away from his, "I'll be the Raditz's squad's new vice-captain, so I was going around introducing myself to everyone before the mission!"

"How's that been going for you?" Gray asked, raising an eyebrow at the girl.

"Not great." Asuna huffed, her cheeks puffing out cutely, "A bunch of them don't believe me for some reason!"

Yeah, I can't see why those giant, meat-head Saiyans would doubt that their new vice-captain is a small girl.

"I'm sure they're just surprised at having a new vice-captain. I wouldn't worry about it." Gray lied, grinning reassuringly at the pouting girl.

"Yeah, that's gotta be it!" Asuna said, nodding to herself. She looked back up at Gray, blushing again as she turned her head to the side, staring down the empty hallway, "Um, well, anyways, I gotta go finish with my introductions. I look forward to working with you!"

+40 Reputation with Asuna (For being handsome) [4x from [Ladies Man], [A Humble Master]]

"Same here," Gray said, his grin shifting to a friendly smile as the girl turned away, walking down the hallway.

She's even cuter in person. She's fully cute too, unlike Asia's 'adorable face with a fat ass' type of cute.

Asia really didn't play fair. It was one thing to be short and adorable, but to also have a big bubbly ass? There was a good chance she ended up as best girl.

Just thinking about it is making me pissed at Dareth for the shit he tried. Bareth, you better be extra nice to me, because I'm in a bad mood now.

Gray stepped out the door, heading down the hallway in the opposite direction Asuna had gone. He started walking towards the one place he knew both Bareth and Ren would have to go to eventually: The cafeteria.

Gray picked up his pace a bit, walking with long strides towards the cafeteria, hoping he hadn't slept in too long and missed them.

If they both already had breakfast, I might have to wait the whole day.

Gray might've still felt mentally and physically tired, but he had slept in more than usual. The sun had already risen, which meant he'd woken up a few hours later than he had to for morning training.

"I still think it's odd that we have a couple day break," Gray said to himself as he walked down the empty hallway, his words echoing around the tunnel-like walls.

I'm not complaining, it's nice to have a break. I just didn't think that Saiyan training would allow for breaks.

Gray walked up to the cafeteria, still officially called the 'Eating Zone,' and walked through the doors. He glanced around the cafeteria, hoping he'd spot either Bareth or Ren amongst the sizeable amount of trainees eating breakfast. The huge cafeteria was rather full, with seemingly a couple hundred D-Class recruits either sitting at tables or walking around. Luckily, or maybe unluckily, Bareth was easy to find even with the hundreds of trainees milling about.

"Didn't I tell you I want some better shit next time, you useless bitch?!" Gray easily spotted Bareth, as he looked like a nearly identical version of Dareth, with just a few differences. He was short with a rounded face, and a relatively lean body, but with a mop of black hair on his head instead of the blonde hair Dareth had.

[Arrogant] Modifier - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally arrogant, believing they are better than others.

He's a lot stronger than the D-Class's we fought on Vargon. Hell, he's even stronger than the C-Class guys. I guess what Celia said makes sense: If the majority of each class was wiped out from the exam, only the ones on the stronger side would survive. The average trainee is stronger than before, and Bareth was already probably one of the stronger trainees in Class-D.

Unfortunately, Gray hadn't just spotted Bareth due to his close resemblance to Dareth. He'd spotted him because of his loud screaming. He was positioned in the corner of the cafeteria, sitting at a table with what seemed to be roughly 10 other D-Class trainees, the majority of them being boys. The exceptions were two girls, one of which was sitting next to him as she stared down at her hands. The other was the one Bareth was shouting out, shaking slightly as she held a tray of food in her hands.

"I-I can't raise my rank while w-we're on break…" The girl spoke up, only to be met with the back of Bareth's hand as it slammed into her face. She slumped over onto the ground, the pile of food spilling all over her.

"Heh? So what? If you wanna leech off me in Class-C, then you gotta be useful for something! This shit food won't cut it!" He yelled down at the girl from his seat, spitting toward her downed body, "Get me some good shit tomorrow or you and your friend will be paying with your bod- GUH"

His words were cut off as a hand gripped the back of his head, slamming him through the table in front of him.

Sorry, Celia. I don't think I can even pretend to play nice with this asshole.

Gray stared down at Bareth's body as he lay in the pile of rubble that was once a table, shadows covering his eyes as he glared down.

How much trouble would I get in if I just killed him now?

5,500HP! (50,850/56,350)

Gray looked down at the boy, watching him struggle on the ground, completely blindsided by the sudden attack. His focus was so intense that he ignored the notification flashing at the edge of his vision, assuming it was just another damage or reputation alert.

[Saiyan Assimilation] has reached 5%!

You have been inflicted with the [Saiyan Bloodline] status condition!

A surge of adrenaline shot through Gray's body, his heart pounding in his ears as he stared at Bareth. An indescribable mix of emotions filled him—anger, disgust, disappointment, and pity all raging within him.

"Who the hell are y—BELH!" Bareth's lackeys scrambled to their feet as the table shattered beneath them, splinters flying everywhere after Bareth was slammed through it. One of the boys who had been sitting next to him charged at Gray, his fist clenched. He was thin and muscular with a rectangular and long face, and he raised his fist high as he flung it at Gray. But Gray's Ki-covered fist met his face before he could land a hit, sending him crashing into the nearest wall. Gray raised an eyebrow, examining the boy with mild curiosity.

The average trainee might be stronger now, but…

"You're all still ants compared to me," Gray scoffed, feeling his Saiyan pride ignite. As Bareth shot up from the ground, rage burning on his face, Gray easily dodged him, his movements fluid. Gray stepped past him, letting Bareth's momentum carry him forward so he was leaning past him, and then raised a cocked-back fist. Bareth's face turned even redder as Gray's Ki-covered fist crashed into his nose, shattering it. Blood splattered across Bareth's face as he slammed into the ground, a crater forming beneath him.

12,500HP! (38,350/56,350)

So fragile.

"You bast-" Another one of Bareth's lackeys quickly joined him as Gray grabbed him by the neck, stopping him mid-lunge toward him. The boy was overly fat, looking nearly like a sumo wrestler, and Gray smirked as he easily held the boy upward by his thick neck. Gray gripped his neck tighter, letting the boy spit and choke for a moment before he slammed him into Bareth's downed form.

18,500HP! (12,850/31,350)

I don't need [Observe] to know how pathetic you are.

Gray blinked, shaking his head slightly at his thoughts.

The entire cafeteria had now turned their attention to the scene, a crowd gathering as trainees moved closer, eager to watch the fight unfold. Six more of Bareth's crew stood nearby, but they hesitated, eyeing Gray warily after seeing how effortlessly he handled their friends. In the corner, Gray noticed the girl who had been sitting next to Bareth trying to shrink into the wall, as if she was trying to hide away.

"Move, dumbass!" Bareth roared, shoving the coughing large boy off him as he jumped to his feet, a Ki ball forming in his hand. He swung his arm wildly, and the blast hit Gray square in the chest, sending a cloud of dust flying. Bareth followed up by raising his hands up to his chest, a smirk on his face as he fired a volley at point-blank range into Gray.

Breathing heavily, Bareth grinned through the blood streaming down his face, staring into the dust where Gray had been standing. "Serves you right, bastard! Do you know who—GERH!"

Bareth's words died in his throat as Gray's hand shot out from the smoke, gripping his throat. Lifting him effortlessly, Gray held the smaller boy aloft as Bareth thrashed in panic, his fists striking Gray's face in desperation. But Gray didn't flinch, he didn't even blink. With a wave of his hand, Gray blasted the dust away, revealing their struggle to the onlooking crowd.

Why do I feel so pissed off right now? Why… do I want to humiliate you?

"Pathetic," Gray muttered as Bareth swung wildly at him, struggling to breathe under Gray's grip around his neck. Each of Bareth's punches barely registered, not even managing 100 damage per hit. One of Bareth's friends finally made a move, grabbing Gray's arm in a futile attempt to break his hold. The boy leaned his body backward, putting his full strength into his arms as he tried to rip Gray's hand off Bareth's throat. Gray let him struggle for a moment before raising his free hand and delivering a sharp chop to the side of the boy's neck, sending him crumpling to the floor, unconscious.

7,500HP! (8,200/15,700)

Another boy tried his luck, launching towards Gray from behind. Gray idly leaned his head to the side, not dropping his grip on Bareth, or even looking at the boy, and swept his foot outward. The boy lost his balance and tumbled to the floor. He started to push himself up but was met with a curb stomp as Gray's foot slammed into his head.

9,500HP! (9,400/15,700)

None of his other friends tried to help him after that, all of them staring warily as Gray choked out Bareth. Bareth's desperate punches grew slower as his face started to lose color. He gave up on trying to hit Gray, instead opening his mouth as he tried to say something. Gray gripped his neck even tighter, ensuring that all that came out of his mouth was a mixture of spit and blood.

"If you try to stand up, I'll kill you. Got it?" Gray asked with an overly sweet grin. Bareth frantically nodded, his hands clawing at Gray's vice-like grip. With a sudden movement, Gray yanked him forward, then slammed him back into the crater his body had made earlier.

5,000HP! (33,350/56,350)

Bareth gasped, clutching his bruised neck as a coughing fit overtook him. His face was pale white, and his neck had five purpled dots forming from where Gray's fingers had been gripping him. Blood trickled down his face, and he choked on it, wheezing for breath. Sitting in the crater, covered in blood and panting heavily, Bareth didn't try to stand up but glared up at Gray with unmasked anger. Gray didn't get notifications for losing reputation, but he didn't need one. The fury in Bareth's eyes said it all.

"You know who I am?" Gray asked the downed Saiyan, smirking at him.

Bareth's eyes flicked over him, recognition slowly dawning. "Y-you—GUK!" Another coughing fit wracked his body as he spat out more blood. His coughs sounded painful, with his voice sounding horse, but Gray found himself unable to muster up any pity for the boy's condition.

I… I feel pity, but not at how hurt he is. Only… because he's so weak.

Gray felt strange as he stared down at the suffering boy who looked nearly identical to Dareth.

Is it because he's Dareth's brother? I… want him to put up a fight. I feel so disappointed. Fuck, whatever.

After a moment, Bareth managed to compose himself enough to respond. "You... You're Gray, right?"

"Good. Your brother mentioned me, did he?" Gray's smirk widened, pushing away his inner thoughts.

"Yeah…" Bareth waved a hand dismissively as one of his friends moved forward, kneeling beside him to help. He glared up at Gray again, defiance flickering in his eyes. "The hell did I do? Why are you doing this?"

"What did you do? How could you forget?" Gray said simply, a shit-eating grin on his face, "You were born as Dareth's brother, of course. I was annoyed with how you treated that girl, but even if I hadn't seen that, I still would've beat your ass. Your face looks too much like your brother's. Did he tell you about what he did to my friend?"

Bareth's glare deepened, but a small, twisted smirk formed on his face. "No, but I'm sure whatever he did, the bitch des—"

He cut himself off as Gray raised his hand, a ball of Ki forming at his fingertips. Panic flashed across Bareth's face as he quickly raised his hands in surrender. "I-I mean, I'm sure the nice lady didn't deserve it at all! My brother can be such a jackass sometimes, right?"

"Good save," Gray said, though he still considered blasting Bareth.

Nah, I don't wanna kill him by accident.

"B-But, what does that have to do with me?" Bareth sputtered, "I didn't do anything to you! I can't control my brother's actions!"

Yeah, but you can control your reputation with me being at -150. If you don't like me that much then you're definitely going to try some fuck shit if I don't put you down now. Plus… this is fun.

"Don't care. Your brother pissed me off, and he's not here. So, I'll be taking it out on you." Gray said, a shit-eating grin still wide on his face.

Bareth glared up at him, "This isn't enough? What more do you want from me?"

Maybe it's because you're his brother, or maybe I'm just really pissed off right now… but I want to take everything from you, Bareth.

"Your bitch."

Bareth blinked in confusion, "Huh? M-My bitch?"

"Yup!" Gray said cheerily, "Your brother hurt my bitc- ah, not my bitch, of course. I would never call her that. Don't tell her I said that, or I'll kill you. That goes for all of you!"

Gray finished his sentence by shouting at the crowd that had formed around them, glaring threateningly at them. He felt a lot of joy at how they all looked away, not meeting his gaze as he glared around.
"As I was saying," he continued, turning his attention back to Bareth, "your brother came after one of mine, so now I'm stealing yours. You!" Gray pointed to the girl Bareth had backhanded earlier, who was now standing just inside the crowd. "You're mine now. And you too!"

His second declaration was aimed at the girl who had been sitting next to Bareth, now cowering against the wall at the far end of the cafeteria, desperately trying to remain unnoticed. Gray emphasized his point by pulling the first girl close, wrapping his arm around her waist.

"So, unless you want to be choked to death- very slowly and painfully, might I add- don't even look in the direction of either of them," Gray said as he pulled the girl into him again, "or at Asia or Tama- ah, you probably won't recognize them by name. Asia is a super adorable small blonde girl with the fattest ass you've ever seen, and Tamari's a tall feisty redhead."

Gray abruptly clapped his hands together, the sound resounding around him and getting everyone's attention again as he glared at the crowd, "That applies to all of you. If anyone touches any of these four girls, I recommend you commit suicide, because what I'll do to you will be much worse."

There was a small silence as the whole crowd stared at him warily. Finally, Gray broke the silence, "Understand?"

A scattered chorus of nervous agreements rang out from the crowd as it quickly dispersed, the trainees leaving and breaking the semi-circle that had formed around Gray and Bareth in the corner of the cafeteria. Gray glared back down at Bareth, a small ball of Ki forming in his hand, "That goes double for you, your brother, and any of your friends, got it? I already don't like you, so I might not be able to resist killing you guys if you're even within 100 feet of any of my girls, alright?"

"Y-Yeah, I won't even think about them, okay?" Bareth said with a frantic nod as he tried to stand up, stumbling and using his arms to support himself. One of his lackeys quickly put his arm around his shoulder, supporting him.

"Good. Don't let me see you again." Gray said with a scoff, and Bareth's friends moved quickly, grabbing their unconscious friends and helping Bareth limp away.

"Hey, what are you dumbasses doing? No fighting in the Eating Zone!" A gruff voice rang out in the room, an older Saiyan walking over to them in a huff. He was short, bald, and had a gray mustache, but looked to be made entirely of muscles, reminding Gray of a bowling ball.

Gray smirked again as he gestured to Bareth, "Ah, it was just some sparring, instructor. I told them they should take it to the training grounds, but they really wanted to spar in here. Right?"

"W-What?" Bareth asked dumbly as Gray looked at him.

"Right?"

"Uh, y-yeah! Just some friendly sparring!" Bareth said, contradicting the fountain of blood that was flowing down his face.

"Do it on the training grounds next time, dumbass! You're gonna have to pay for that broken floor! Get this idiot to a healing pod, we can talk about the punishment after." Grapion said.

The instructor looked over Gray, then turned and looked Bareth up and down. Finally, he smirked, "Well, it's clear to me who lost. You'll take the punishment and cover the cost."

"B-But he-"

"Don't care, brat. Get moving." Grapion ushered Bareth and his group out of the cafeteria. Gray swiped his hands together as he watched them leave, brushing off the dust and blood that coated them.

Let's hope that was enough to keep him from causing trouble.

Gray blinked as he looked over at the shattered table, finally noticing the floating notification, which was floating menacingly over the remains of the table.

"U-um, thank you for your help!" The girl who he was pressing into his side said quietly, interrupting his thoughts. He turned to look at her, taking her in for the first time.

Almost forgot you were here.

The girl was blushing and looking down at the floor, but Gray could see her round and cute face. She had big innocent eyes and mid-length brown hair framing her face. He looked lower, taking in her body. She was short but had decently big breasts and a round thick ass. He quickly used [Observe] on her.

[Shy] Modifier - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally shy and introverted.

Weird ass name.

"You both alright?" Gray asked, looking at the two girls in front of him. Raphtalia was taller than Ochaco by a few inches, with long auburn flowing down her body. She was also skinner than Ochaco, being on the skinner side as opposed to the thicc, with two C's, Ochaco, but was also relatively curvy. She had beautiful porcelain skin and had a blush on her beautiful face.

"Yes… thank you…" Raphtalia said shyly, having walked over from the corner a moment earlier.

"Why were you guys with that jackass anyway?" Gray asked the girls, who had been clearly uncomfortable with Bareth's group. He could already guess the answer, considering he'd seen Ochaco get backhanded and overheard their conversation, but he wanted to hear the answer from the girls themselves.

Ochaco blushed, clearly embarrassed. "We didn't really have a choice… we barely passed the exam and wouldn't have survived here on our own."

Raphtalia nodded in agreement.

"Hah, are you sure you're even Saiyans with that attitude?" Gray scoffed as the Saiyan inside of him flared up, angered by his fellow Saiyans' decision to leech off of Bareth. Ochaco and Raphtalia both blushed deeper at his words, looking down at their feet in shame.

Chill out, Gray. Stop scaring the hoe's away. Why am I thinking like this suddenly? These girls are hot as fuck, so let it slide.

Gray sighed as he pushed away his inner feeling of disappointment, "Never mind. Regardless of your attitude, I've made it clear you're with me now. No one's gonna mess with you."
"Y-Yes! T-Thank you so much!" Ochaco said, her face lighting up with a bright smile. "That was incredible—the way you handled Bareth! You barely broke a sweat!"

Gray felt a feeling of pride and immense satisfaction well up in him.

I like you.

Gray smirked, shrugging. "Please, I could beat that idiot with my pinky toe. I'm Gray, by the way."

"We know," Raphtalia cut in, also smiling brightly at him, "Bareth talked about you a lot. He was really hung up about you humiliating his brother."

"He should let it go if he knows what's good for him," Gray hummed, a confident smirk filling his face, "If he or Dareth try anything, I'll really kill them this time."

"Now," Gray said, clapping his hands together again, "Any chance either of you have met two of my friends, Asia and Tamari? A short blonde and a tall redhead?"

"I don't think so…" Ochaco responded, while Raphtalia merely shook her head.

"Didn't think so, but would've been nice," Gray hummed, "I'll be off-planet on a mission for next month or two, so you two should stick with them. I'll also have another friend, Ren, and his group of friends train with you guys. You should be safe from any annoying pricks like Bareth if you stick with them."

"U-Um," Raphtalia brought up, "A-Are you leaving today? Will we see you again before you leave?"

Gray locked eyes with Raphtalia, causing the shy girl to turn away and blush.

Cute.

"Of course," Gray said with a rugged smile, "I'm just a bit busy today. I'm not leaving for another few days, so I'll talk with you guys tomorrow and introduce you to Asia and Tamari."

"O-Oh, alright… I'm glad to hear that!" Raphtalia said, blushing deeper as she smiled at him.

"Yeah! We'll come to the cafeteria at the same time tomorrow, is that fine?" Ochaco asked, locking eyes with Gray again.

"Meh, come an hour later. I doubt Tamari will wake up this early," Gray responded, turning and scanning the cafeteria as he looked for Ren, "I gotta go find someone now, so I'll see y'all tomorrow."

The girls echoed his farewell as they walked toward the exit together, and Gray scanned the cafeteria.

Before I look for Ren, I gotta figure out what this is.

Gray glanced back at the notification hanging in the air.

[Saiyan Assimilation] has reached 5%!

You have been inflicted with the [Saiyan Bloodline] status condition!

Assimilation? So, am I becoming more Saiyan-like or somethin'? I coulda told you that - I've been getting dumber and hornier every day on this planet, but what does that status condition mean?

Gray didn't have another moment to think about it, as through the floating box he saw a muscular boy speed-walking towards him with a purpose, clearly having been watching him speak to the girls. He had short black hair and a square face. Gray looked at the boy, using [Observe].

[Emotional] Ren:

Gray blanched as he saw the boy pick up his pace, adding a whole new definition to the term 'speed-walking' as he strutted towards him from the other side of the room, a fire burning in his eyes. Gray locked eyes with the boy, not backing down as he stared at Gray with a burning intensity.

Oh, he's totally pissed about Ken.

"I've been looking for you, Gray!" He shouted as he approached him, his teeth gritted.

"I'm sure you have," Gray responded, staring back at the boy.

I feel bad about Ken dying, and I don't wanna make Ren an enemy, both so he can protect the girls and since he was Ken's friend, but I'm not going to back down either.

Gray's heart began to race, adrenaline surging through his veins. He could feel the anticipation of a fight bubbling inside him, and despite himself, he fought to keep a grin off his face.

Fuck, I shouldn't want to fight him but… I feel excited. I feel eager.

"You know what this about then, right?" Ren asked, stopping a foot in front of Gray as he stared up into his eyes.

"Of course," Gray answered, still not backing down as he stared down at Ren, "This is about Ken."

"Good, then I won't have to waste time explaining," Ren said, shifting his body into a tense stance. Their eyes locked, and electricity could be felt in the air. Ren shifted his body, flinging himself at Gray…

…and wrapping him in a tight hug.

Huh?
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that, man!" Ren exclaimed, squeezing Gray with surprising strength.

"Uh… thanks?" Gray mumbled, completely taken aback.

Ren placed his hands on Gray's shoulders, pushing him back as he stared into his eyes again, "I lost a team member too, brother Gray! I know how you feel!"

"Yeah-" Gray started but was cut off as Ren yelled loudly again, attracting the attention of other recruits in the cafeteria.

"I know it hurts, Brother Gray!" Ren interrupted, raising his fist dramatically. "But don't let it consume you! Ken knew the risks, we all did! He wouldn't want you to be weighed down by his death!"

"Uh… yeah, it's tough but I'm n-"

"Brother Gray! I know not a second goes by that you don't regret what happened! That you don't wish that you died in Ken's place!" Ren shouted, staring at his clenched fist as he looked on the verge of tears.

Ah, I mean, I'm sad Ken died, but not that sad. I only knew him for a couple of days. I think you're projecting here.

"But!" Ren continued, "You must channel that regret! That anger! That rage! It's what Ken would've wanted! We must use this rage to continue forward, becoming the strongest of the strongest! We must live on our brother's dreams, Gray!"

"I-"

"Gray!" Ken gripped Gray's shoulders again, staring at him with tears in his eyes, "If you ever need to talk about it, brother Gray, I'm here for you! And if you ever need anything, anything at all, I will be here for you!"

"Ah, that's great," Gray finally got a word in, bewildered by the unexpected direction the conversation was taking, "I actually do need to talk to you about some-"

What did I even do?

"Of course, brother Gray! We can spend all night talking about our regrets! About our feelings! About how much we miss our brothers! Let us bond through our sense of loss, and become even closer than blood brothers!" Ren shouted, a large grin on his face as he raised his fist high above his head.

"Ah, actually, it's not about that…" Gray started, stopping as Ren's face fell, his back hunching over dramatically at Gray's words.

"B-Because I'm just not ready to bring up those emotions again, y'know? I, uh, don't think I could handle feeling the pain again?" Gray tried to appease the boy, questioning his own words as he tried to relate to Ren.

How do I have the highest reputation with this guy now? The fuck is going on?

"Ah, of course! I'm sorry for being so pushy, brother Gray! It's too soon, I understand! We all cope in different ways and at different rates!" Ren said, nodding rapidly at Gray.

"Right…" Gray said, steering the conversation back. "Anyway, about what I wanted to talk about. I've been assigned an off-planet mission for the next month, maybe two, so I won't be around to keep an eye on a few friends. Could you—"

"Of course, brother Gray!" Ren interrupted him loudly, grinning up at him, "Whoever it is, I'd be more than glad to train with them! I will treat them as my own brothers!"

Well, this went a lot better than I expected.

"Great, thanks," Gray said, "You know Asia and Tamari, right? It'll be them and-"

"Yes! Brother Gray's girlfriends! I met them when we all trained together!" Ren said, his grin changing to a smirk, "Should I still call them sisters? That might be strange, as they are my brothers' girlfriends, so maybe sisters-in-law?"

"Just," Gray sighed, feeling a headache start to form, "Sister is fine. Just stick with sister. The other two I'll introduce you to tomorrow. They're the two girls I was just talking with—Ochaco and Raphtalia."

"Great! Me and my brothers will train with them every day! I can assure you that they'll be twice as strong by the time you get back!" Ren shouted, raising his fist upward.

I'm glad he's so eager, but my ears are starting to hurt from all this screaming.

"And," Ren continued, yelling even louder to ensure that everyone in the cafeteria could hear him, "I'll make sure they all stay safe! Sister Asia, Tamari, Ochaco, and Raphtalia! If anyone messes with them, me and my brothers won't let them off with just removing a limb!"

Gray grinned, glad to see that Ren understood what Gray was asking him to do, "Great. I appreciate it, brother Ren!"

Ren returned his smile, then abruptly his face fell, the smile disappearing. He glanced downward, a shadow covering his eyes, "Gray… you avenged Ken, right? You made that bastard pay, right?"

"Of course," Gray responded, his face becoming serious, "I made sure it was slow and painful, though that fucker blew himself up and got off easy."

"Hah," The mood lightened as Ren's face lit up, smiling again, "Good. I did the same for the bastard that killed Sen."

They shared a smile and a nod of respect, then said their farewells as Gray left the cafeteria. He looked up at the ceiling, his head tilted curiously.

Sen? Ren, Sen, Ken? Are they all actually brothers and not just calling each other that?

Gray hummed to himself as he left the cafeteria.

Whatever. Training can wait for today. Now that I'm done with that, time to rest up for the actual mission, and figure out what this status condition shit is.

[Saiyan Assimilation] has reached 5%!

"I'm running out of words to use," Gray sighed, staring at the floating box. He'd been trying for the entire trip to Earth, and for the past few days, to figure out more about the status condition.

"Tell me your secrets!"

[Saiyan Assimilation] has reached 5%!

You have been inflicted with the [Saiyan Bloodline] status condition!

"Dumb game," Gray groaned as the box didn't change.

"Arrival on planet Earth will commence in 10 minutes." A robotic voice rang out of Gray's Saiyan pod as he lounged in the cramped pod and stared at the floating text box.

Almost there.

The past two days had flown by for Gray, leaving him with mixed feelings. On one hand, he was happy to have spent the time relaxing with his friends, but on the other, he was frustrated that he hadn't done much training. His original plan was to dedicate a few days to intense training in preparation for Earth, but Asia and Tamari had other ideas. They insisted on spending every moment with him, knowing they wouldn't see him for months, and he just couldn't bring himself to refuse them. The only 'training' he'd gotten in was spamming [Observe] and getting it up another level.

I know I should've been training, but it was… fun. The last two days were really fun.

For the first time since arriving in this world—especially after returning from Vargon—he felt like a normal human again. Walking through the halls of the large training facility with his friends, it almost felt like being back in high school, though the activities were quite different. Instead of watching a football game, he found himself watching sparring matches as Ren introduced him to the 'Arena,' an unofficial fighting area tucked away in one of the B-Class training rooms.

It was nice to just have fun for once, and not think about trying to overthrow an intergalactic tyrant for once. It's time to lock in though.

Gray stared at the small dot that was Earth as it grew bigger. The time for fun was over - he'd be fighting for his life now. Gray turned back to the floating status condition, an idea forming.

What if…

"[Observe]"

The box disappeared, and a new one took its place.

It was that easy, huh? Use your brain more often, Gray.

[Saiyan Assimilation Rate] - The rate at which you have assimilated with your new race. You have chosen the [Saiyan] race. Spending more time in Saiyan culture will raise your assimilation rate.

So, it's just how much of a Saiyan I am? How does it track that?

[Saiyan Bloodline] Status Condition - Due to reaching 5% assimilation with the [Saiyan] race, you have been inflicted with the [Saiyan Bloodline] status condition! Saiyan blood truly flows through your veins, giving you both the benefits and downsides that come with being a Saiyan!

Yeah, that explains really well what the condition does, game. What if I just…

Gray stared directly at [Saiyan Bloodline], "[Observe]"

[Saiyan Bllodline] - A status condition. Those inflicted with this condition will become more like Saiyans: A race of warrior-conquerors. You will feel a desire for hand-to-hand battle and conquest.

That… makes a lot of sense.

The past few days had felt different for Gray—ever since his return from Vargon, and even more so after he defeated Bareth two days ago. He had been determined to follow his desires from the moment he arrived in this world: to live life on his own terms. When he first began this new life, his main focus was survival—growing stronger and using his knowledge to his advantage.

His desires had changed a lot since then. He'd felt a constant urge within him that demanded for him to fight. To conquer. To take whatever he wanted, regardless of the consequences.

My Saiyan side is becoming stronger.

His initial instincts had changed. He used to view every situation logically - deciding the best course of action for both himself and his team. Now, his mind went a different direction - a more primal direction.

Being around other Saiyans so much isn't helping either. Forcing myself to kill, and being encouraged to follow my instincts by Celia.

Gray had been forced to let his Saiyan side take the front seat on Vargon, as his Human side balked at the idea of massacring an entire planet. His human side hadn't even been able to finish off Dareth.

I couldn't bring myself to kill Dareth, but I almost couldn't stop myself from killing Bareth.

He'd changed a lot in such a short time, and he wasn't sure if it was solely due to the assimilation.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing either.

"Arrival on planet Earth will commence in 5 minutes." The robotic voice rang out in his pod, dragging his attention from his thoughts.

Gray looked out of the reddish-purple window of his space pod, eager to be out of the cramped spaceship.

"Wow… it's really Earth…" Gray said, looking at the huge planet as his ship hurtled toward it. It was surreal to see the planet again after spending the last few weeks on planet Vegeta and Vargon.

It's only been a few weeks, but it already feels like a lifetime.

Gray fidgeted with his hands as the Earth slowly grew bigger from his approach, a feeling of adrenaline coming over him.

Earth. Not just any Earth, but an Earth with Goku and everyone else. Both the badass martial artists and the top-tier waifus.

He was pulled out of his thoughts as a window appeared in front of him.

"Arrival on planet Earth will commence in 2 minutes." The robotic voice rang out. Gray took a mental checklist to ensure he was ready.

Sword? Yup. Full HP? Yeah. Full Ki? Check. Water canteen? Right here. Food bundle? Mostly full. Orders?

Gray went over Raditz's orders prior to their departure again, which were rather simple: Land in the landing zone, which was inside the Frieza Forces stronghold, and show them a small medal he'd been handed, which proved his identity, if he arrived early. The entire squad had departed from planet Vegeta at the same time, but different trajectories and routes meant that they'd all land around at various times, though they'd all be landing within an hour or so of each other.

"Arrival on planet Earth will commence in 1 minute." The robotic voice spoke as the planet filled Gray's entire vision, his pod hurtling into the atmosphere.

I'm back, Earth.

"Let's fucking go," Gray muttered, a grin spreading across his face as his pod slammed into the ground, landing among the craters dotting the icy mountain range. The door to his pod hissed open, and he stepped out, taking a deep breath of the cold air while scanning his surroundings.

Snow stretched endlessly in every direction. To the west, a cluster of buildings rose toward the sky, barely visible against the towering mountain in the distance. To the east, several Saiyan pods from squad members who had arrived before him rested at the foot of another massive peak. Behind him, Raditz was furiously deflecting a barrage of lasers. In front of him, a view of the—

Wait, what?

"You fucking rats!" Raditz screamed, sending a Ki blast into a nearby snowy hill, though said Ki blast looked to completely disappear a few feet from the hill, "Come out, you spineless bastards!"

Hundreds of lasers rained down on him from all directions, seemingly emerging from the snow itself. Gray quickly flicked his wrist, effortlessly deflecting one of the beams that appeared out of nowhere in front of him.

"What's going on, Rad—Captain?" Gray shouted toward Raditz, his eyes sweeping across the snowy landscape. The only break in the endless white was the occasional body. His eyes widened when he realized the corpses were wearing Saiyan armor. Before he could process the sight, his hands blurred into motion, deflecting a barrage of incoming lasers.

"An ambush, obviously! By a bunch of spineless rats!" Raditz barked, grunting as one of the red lasers struck his shoulder, smoke rising as it scorched his armor. "They're so weak the scouters can't even pick them up! Come out, you fucking rats!"

"What do we do, Captain?" A deep voice called out, and Gray turned to see a large burly Saiyan, bringing his attention to the fact that there were more squad members here, though not as many as he'd hoped. There were two other muscular Saiyans further beyond Raditz, with Asuna floating in the air a few feet above them. A moment later, a space pod near him opened, and Saeko stepped out. She jumped in surprise as she swiped her sword upward, slashing a laser aimed at her in half.

"What's going on?" She asked, tilting her head at him curiously.

"Fuck if I know," Gray huffed, his arms getting tired from having to deflect the non-stop stream of lasers coming from all directions, "Where are these lasers even coming from?"

"Stop firing Ki blasts, you'll just tire yourself out! Something's blocking them before they reach the ground!" Asuna's voice rang out, and one of the Saiyans near Raditz looked at him with a bit of panic in his eyes.

…It's pissing me off to even think this, but the best option is to retreat. An ambush by invisible enemies who can negate Ki? We need a plan.

"We should just lea—" Gray began, shame creeping in as the idea of retreating left his lips.

"Shut up! You call yourself a Saiyan?!" Raditz roared, firing a flurry of blasts toward the floor around him, all of them dispersing into the air before they connected, "We'll find these fucking rats, and kill them! Saiyans don't flee, especially not from cowards!"

I hate that I think he's right.

The Saiyan corpses spread around the snowy mountain made more sense to Gray now as he looked at Raditz's, seeing the man breathing heavily from exhaustion.

But I'm smart enough to know he's wrong.

"Someone trapped the area," He said to Saeko, "They're hiding themselves somehow, and blocking Ki blasts. These dumbasses are too prideful to run because the lasers are so weak. Who knows how long this idiot has been here, wearing himself down."
Gray looked at Raditz, his opinion of the man going down as he so easily fell into the trap that was placed for them. He glanced up, seeing more Saiyan pods streaming toward the Earth, letting him know that the entire squad hadn't arrived yet.

I wonder if Celia landed yet? She would've just flown away, instead of standing there and getting shot at for an hour.

"Hiding?" Saeko asked curiously as her sword blurred, deflecting and cutting the lasers, "What do you mean? They're right here."

Gray blinked, looking at the snowy landscape in front of him, which Saeko had gestured toward. The lasers were just appearing out of the air as if they were being fired upward from the snow, but Gray didn't see anyone.

"What? Where?"

"Right here," Saeko said, abruptly launching forward and stabbing her sword into the snow. A pained grunt filled the air, and the snow around her blade started to turn a deep red color. The array of lasers that had been non-stop firing at Gray now turned their aim to Saeko.

I thought they were invisible, but…

"They're in the snow?" Gray asked, not knowing how she'd known where the attacker was. Where Saeko had stabbed was now a corpse, looking to be a man wearing a gray metallic suit. It covered his entire body with only a small hole for his eyes to see out of. His body was lying on top of a small pistol, which Gray assumed was a laser gun.

"Yeah," Saeko hummed, slashing her blade into another part of the snowy ground and causing a splash of blood to fly into the air as she tilted her head to dodge a red laser, "Their camouflage technology is pretty good, but nothing special. You Saiyans must have poor eyesight."

No, I think you just have really good eyes. How the fuck can you see these guys?

Gray raised his hand, flinging a small Ki blast into the floor in front of him. He watched as it vanished into the air, no explosion coming from it.

"That's pretty impressive," Saeko spoke as her blade swiped down, slashing through another person as she quickly curved it up again to block a laser, "Energy-absorbing technology is pretty rare, and I've never heard of it being used in combat. They seem to have some way to block scouters too."

Energy-absorbing? That's not nice to hear. That only showed up in the show during the Android Arc. And scouter blocking is more important than it sounds.

Gray reached out his senses, trying to grab a hint of the enemies Ki around him, but to no avail.

I can't even sense them.

"Hmm," Gray hummed, "Whoever did this, it's pretty elaborate. If you weren't here, the squad would've been wiped. Well, the rest of the squad anyway. I'm not dumb or prideful enough to not just fly away."

"Oh? So I saved the whole mission, did I?" Saeko said, a sly smirk appearing on her face as she casually stabbed down again, blood splashing on her face, "I think I deserve a reward then!"

Gray ignored her teasing, his mind whirling on how to deal with the situation. His Saiyan side reared up, demanding he fight.

We could try to overload the absorbers like Goku did against Yakon- no, stop thinking like that, fucking brain. It's too risky. If we don't have enough Ki then we'll just be exhausted and die here.

Gray's eyes widened as he thought of a plan, his eyes scanning the snow in front of him.

Observe.

… A Earthling?

Gray shot forward, slamming his foot down on the spot where he'd been staring, and grinned as he felt a body crumple underneath his foot.

+1 XP!

Good, I can find them like this. Him being with Cooler also means that this isn't a misunderstanding between us and the Frieza Force. We should assume the Frieza Force stronghold was overtaken.

"They're hiding in the snow with Ki absorbers! Stop firing blasts and just start stomping around!" Gray shouted in Raditz and Asuna's direction, a Saiyan pod landing near him as he did, "They're weak, so they'll die from any amount of force! Relay that to the rest of the squad as they arrive!"

Gray was glad to see Raditz listen to him and not complain, slamming his fists and feet into the snow like a wild bull. The other few Saiyans with him followed his lead, though Asuna looked a lot more delicate as she slowly shuffled around the snow and punched into it..

Gray found another attacker using [Observe] and flew forward, stomping on his neck casually, "Saeko, you can go quicker, right?"

"Hmm," Saeko smirked at him again, her face covered in blood, "I could~ but will you reward me if I do?"

This girl's gotta be bipolar. How can she be so classy one day and like this the next?

"Yeah, sure, whatever you want," Gray said dismissively, punching into the ground on another attacker.

"I'll remember that!" Saeko shouted, her body becoming a blur as she shot across the snowy landscape, her blade flashing as she slashed widely into the snow, a trail of bloody snow and corpses in her wake. This tactic only worked for a few minutes, as the enemy quickly realized they stood no chance if the Saiyans were able to find them, and a voice rang across the battlefield.

"Plan B!"

The initial shout was quiet, startling Gray as one of the silently hidden shooters actually spoke. Then, it spread like wildfire.

"Plan B!" A shout came from behind him.

"Plan B!" Another to his right.

"Plan B!" To the left this time.

"Plan B!" Under his foot as it slammed down, killing the man.

"Plan B!"

"Plan B!"

"Plan B!"

"Plan B!" The initial shouts became a roar as thousands of soldiers appeared from the snow.

The shouts echoed across the snowy mountainous area as the Cooler Recruits screamed it, standing up out of the snow and sprinting away from the group of Saiyans.

Wow, there were this many?

The empty mountains, which had previously only had a small group of Saiyans, were suddenly flooded with thousands of men holding laser guns, all of them breaking their cover to sprint away.

"They said plan B," Raditz shouted as he flew forward, smashing the head of a soldier from behind, "But that looks like it's just a cover-up for retreating! You cowardly bastards! Kill them all! Leave not a single one alive, men!"

"YES CAPTAIN!" A shout rang out as the Saiyans laughed loudly, chasing the fleeing men.

Gray resisted the urge to join them as his fellow Saiyans went on a rampage, slaughtering all the fleeing soldiers.

No, they do have a plan.

Gray watched as all the enemy recruits sprinted in the same two directions: To the east and the west. They were scrambling up the two giant hills that sat on each edge, both leading into huge mountains that were overviewing the battleground.

They know we can fly, right? Highground won't help you here. Poor Earthlings.

All the men flooding up the hills were Earthlings, meaning they were being easily dispatched as the Saiyans picked off the running men. Finally, the massacre was paused as a new group arrived. Over to the South, where Raditz had originally been screaming in rage when Gray arrived, a hole opened up in the snow. A metal hatch swung open, revealing a room hidden under the snowy terrain. A group flooded out, this time not clad in the same metallic outfits or armed with guns.

Actual fighters.

"Fight someone your own size, alien monsters!" A tall and muscular man stepped in front, glaring at Raditz.

The group climbing out of the hatch was not prepared for the cold weather, wearing remarkably normal clothes. Some were in martial arts gis, others in just normal streetwear, with T-shirts and jeans.

"Great!" Raditz shouted as he saw the group, "Stomping on ants is no fun! Someone give me a good fight!"

Wait…

He launched forward, the muscular man who had spoken running forward to meet him. They both raised their fists, the man pulling his fist back and…

…Being launched away in one hit, crumpling into a heap in the snow as Raditz's fist blitzed past his own, slamming into his face.

Why are they so weak?

"Huh?" Even Raditz looked confused, staring at the crumpled corpse.

Gray looked at one of the martial artists, using [Observe],

[Giant] Modifier - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally large, both in height and width. They will have an affinity to gaining STR and END.

"They're…" Gray stared incredulously, "So weak."

And he's a slave, too. So they're being forced to fight. Makes sense, why would any of these guys want to fight against Saiyans?

Gray scanned the man, blinking in surprise as he realized something. The large man was fat and shirtless, wearing just shorts that were many sizes too small. He had curly orange hair and an ugly face.

Isn't he… in the show? Are they all from the show?

Gray wracked his brain, searching for where he knew the man from, and realizing that he was a minor wrestler who tried entering one of the World Tournaments.

"Fire! Don't let their deaths be for nothing!" A shout came from the top of the mountain, and the thousands of soldiers who'd been desperately climbing the hill started raining down lasers from above.

"Focus on the ones with guns! The others are just a distraction! I'll take them all out quickly!" Gray shouted, dragging the attention of the other Saiyans to the soldiers shooting down on them as he rushed towards the martial artists.

"Don't give me orders, brat!" Raditz shouted, glaring at him.

"He's right!" Asuna shouted, "Go for the ones with guns! The others are just a distraction for them to get away!"

The last part of that sentence seemed to win over Raditz, "Ah, damn it! Don't let those cowardly bastards get away! I can't stand these fucking rats!"

I already like you, Asuna.

Gray blitzed into the group of martial artists, most of whom were still grouped up. The weak fighters didn't even put up a fight as Gray flashed through them, chopping into their necks as he knocked them out.

I don't know why you guys are here, but I'll keep you alive for now, even if just to get some goodwill with Goku.

Gray hoped that the timeline hadn't been fucked up to the point where Goku hadn't competed in the tournaments. He wanted to befriend the man eventually, and having saved some Earthlings, especially some he knew, would be a nice start.

"Ahh! Please Stop!" A girly shriek went into the air, and Gray looked over to see a female martial artist… pulling her shirt off. The woman was showing off her bare breasts to a Saiyan towering over her.

"Eh? You think I'm into beastiality or something?" The Saiyan laughed, forming a Ki ball in his hand. Gray dashed forward, grabbing the man's wrist.

"Huh?" The Saiyan male looked back at him curiously.

"Sorry," Gray said simply, pulling his sword out of its sheath on his hip as he channeled Ki into it. His wooden blade started turning pitch black as he grunted from the effort, the transformation climbing up to just above the hilt, allowing for a few centimeters of the blade to become pitch-black.

That's good enough.

"What are yo-"

Gray flicked the blade, ensuring the blacked surface cut through the man's neck with one swing. His head rolled off his shoulders, landing in the snow as his body fell to the side.

25,670HP! (0/25,670)

Damn, this sword is awesome. Good test run. You were weak anyway, you wouldn't have been much help.

He looked down at the woman, who was staring up at him in shock.

If you didn't wanna die, then you shouldn't have been about to kill a waifu!

Not a top-tier one, but still a waifu.

"You alright?" Gray asked, giving the woman a friendly smile.

I should've thought that through. I didn't need to kill that guy.

Despite his thoughts, there was a feeling of satisfaction building within him.

"A-Ah… yeah?" She asked back, staring up at him, a confused look in her eyes.

"Great! You can put those away, y'know? Not that I mind." He said, gesturing to the woman's breasts, which were still out.

"Ah, r-right!" She said, quickly pulling her shirt back up. Gray reached down his hand, grabbing her hand in his as he pulled her to her feet.

"That was unnecessary," Saeko said, walking up behind him.

"Maybe, but I didn't want any witnesses. If he went and told Raditz I was saving the enemy, it would cause some unnecessary trouble."

And… I just wanted to kill someone strong.

The satisfaction he got from killing his fellow Saiyan was worrying, but he couldn't push the feeling away. Even if he was far weaker than Gray, he was still a Saiyan. A member of the warrior race. A conqueror.

And I killed him so easily.

"No witnesses? But I'm a witness!" Saeko teased with a smirk on her face, dragging him from his thoughts.

"Yeah, but are you gonna go snitch to Raditz?" Gray said dismissively.

"Of course not."
"Um…" Ranfan started, shuffling so she was behind Gray, not-so-subtly trying to hide from the view of the other Saiyans, who were mercilessly massacring the soldiers on the hill, "Why did you help me?"

Gray turned around, directing a rugged smile at the woman, "How could I just let such a beautiful woman die? It would be a loss for the entire world!"

Am I smooth or what?

Ranfan turned beet red, a big smile appearing on her face, "R-Really?"

What is up with people gaining so much reputation lately? I know I saved your life and all, but damn.

"No," Saeko interrupted, deadpanning at the woman, "What he means is, 'I need to keep someone alive for information and you have big tits, so I picked you.'"

Partially right. She's a waifu, and I'll get more brownie points with Goku for saving her, but yeah, we do need to keep some of them alive to interrogate.

"O-Oh," Ranfan's face blushed slightly as her smile widened.

+200 Reputation with Ranfan (For being attracted to her breasts) [4x from [Ladies Man], [A Humble Master]]

What the fuck is going on?

Gray glanced up as the Saiyans were finishing up their massacre, a mountain of corpses lying in the snow.

They must all have been forced to fight. Their backup plan was terrible. Taking the high ground against people who can fly? Firing laser guns at Saiyans? This can't be Cooler's true army.

"I'm Gray, by the way. This is Saeko." Gray said, gesturing toward Saeko as he realized he'd been watching the massacre for a few seconds too long.

"Oh, yeah! I'm Ranfan!" She introduced herself, but a moment later a voice hollered down from the hill.

"What do you mean you didn't leave one?" Asuna's voice rang out, and the small girl looked comical as she glared up at the giant form of Raditz.

+10 HREG for surviving an ambush! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

+10 EREG for surviving an ambush! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

+10 INT for fighting smartly! (10x multiplier from [Nightmare Mode])

Guess they finished up already.

"Those rats didn't deserve to live! Why should I let one survive when they were so cowardly?!" The large man shouted down at her, his face twisted in irritation.

"Because we need information, you idiot! Our landing zone was attacked! We don't know who they were, or why they did it!" Asuna responded, staring up stubbornly at Raditz, "We don't know what happened to the rest of the Frieza Force soldiers that were supposed to be here! Do you ever think?!"

"Protect them," Gray said simply to Saeko, gesturing to the pile of martial artists as he floated up into the air and flew toward Asuna and Raditz.

"I didn't wanna, so I didn't! Those stupid ants couldn't have told us anything important anyway!" Raditz argued back, his face red as he clearly realized he was in the wrong, but not being willing to admit it.

"We need information! IN-FOR-MAT-ION!" Asuna sounded out the syllables as she jutted her finger at him, "Ever heard of it?"

"Relax," Gray said as he reached the two, "I kept a few alive, so we can get information from them."

"Huh? I said to kill all those rats! Are you disobeying orders from your captain?!" Raditz asked him angrily, too prideful to let the topic go.

Gray pushed down the urge to argue back angrily, his pride flaring up at Raditz's demeaning words.

"It was the martial artists - the fighters," Gray stated, clarifying when he saw Raditz gain a confused look on his face, "They fought back, so they're not cowardly, right? If we had to leave some alive, it should be them, yeah?"

"Ah! Good thinking, kid!" Raditz said, clapping him on the shoulder, "The cowardly rats shouldn't live, but those who fought with pride and honor should!"

I'm glad you're so easy to manipulate.

"Good job, Gray!" Asuna said, smiling gratefully at him, then turning to Raditz as she tried to appease him after their fiery exchange, "It'll be a hassle to take a bunch with us since we don't even know if there is a stronghold anymore, so you can kill all but one, Captain!"

"No," Gray shot down her statement, "If we only have one, we don't know if they're lying or not. You need multiple. Interrogate them all separately and see if their stories match."

"Woah," Asuna blushed, staring at him with wide eyes, "Where did you learn such wise interrogation tactics, Gray?!"

This is the most obvious shit, Saiyans just aren't very smart. It's not necessary either, probably, but I want them all alive to get in the Z-Fighter's good books as quick as possible.

"Read it in a book, or somethin'," Gray said lazily as he waved her question away.

"It is safe to assume that the Freiza Force on Earth has been completely wiped out," A female voice said, and Gray turned to see Celia floating towards him, not a hint of blood on her Saiyan armor.

"Finally showed up, royal brat?" Raditz scoffed at her, "You missed the whole battle."

"I left planet Vegeta last," Celia explained, "Since I'm here, that means the whole squad landed already. There are 32 remaining out of the initial 51 that landed."

Gray looked around, realizing that the small group of 4 Saiyans that had been here when he arrived was now a much larger crowd.

We lost 19 men to that pathetic ambush attempt?

Gray assumed that most of the men died in the way that Raditz's would've if he and Saeko hadn't arrived - firing Ki blasts wildly as they refused to retreat, being worn down by the barrage of lasers until they didn't have enough energy to survive.

A painful scream rang out, and Celia turned her gaze to the side, staring down the hill, "31 now."

Gray followed her gaze, seeing that she was staring at Saeko, whose sword was embedded in the back of a large Saiyan man.

"Hah?! Is that tagalong killing my men?" Raditz asked, looking more annoyed than angry.

"She wouldn't without reason," Celia said dismissively, "Don't act like you care so much. If you did, you wouldn't have let the other 19 die in the ambush. Even if the lasers were weak, sitting in the middle of an ambush is the peak of idiocy."

"Bastard," Raditz growled at her with a glare, "You weren't even here. That damn ability of yours is annoying."

"First," Celia started, ignoring Raditz, "We need to interrogate the survivors. Me and Gray will do so. The rest of you should go scout those buildings."

Celia gestured her hand toward the scattered buildings that Gray had seen earlier, looking to be 5-6 tall stone structures with a couple hundred feet between them.

"Hmmph," Raditz glared at her, "When did you become the captain? I'll interrogate them, bastard. You can go look at the buildings."
"Stop whining," Celia said calmly, causing Raditz to glare even harder as his face twisted with irritation, "We both know you're just saying that so it doesn't look like I'm ordering you around. We can say that these are suggestions, Captain."

Celia made air quotes as she stressed the word, "My ability will make the interrogations much easier, and you don't want to do that boring stuff anyway. There might be more enemies in the buildings. You'd rather fight them than talk with a bunch of Earthlings, right?"

"You're lucky you're right, brat," Raditz scoffed, turning away as he walked toward the crowd of Saiyans, who were all mingling lazily as they kicked around corpses, looking for any survivors.

"Um, thanks for your help, Gray, Celia!" Asuna said, smiling brightly at them as she turned to go after Raditz, "If we run into anyone, I'll make sure to keep a survivor this time!"

"Damn, am I glad to have you on my side sometimes," Gray said appreciatively to Celia as he watched Asuna and Raditz gather the group of Saiyans.

"You should be," An unusual small smirk forming on her emotionless face, "I'm useful, and you can stare at my ass all day. That's more than the rest of the girls can say."

"They're not useless," Gray said back indignantly as they started floating upwards, flying toward Saeko, "Saeko was the only reason we got out of that ambush, y'know?"

"Yes, I suppose she's useful," Celia said as they approached her. She was standing next to Ranfan, the pile of unconscious martial artists behind her, "But, logically, the rest don't have much value beyond you staring at their bodies."
"That's a lot of value," Gray said simply.

If I gotta battle for my life on the daily, I might as well have some hot babes with me, right? Who cares if Asia isn't much help in battle when she's got a nice bubble butt? It's not like Bulma or Chi-Chi ever helped Vegeta or Goku much in a battle. I think Chi-Chi just complained most of the time when the entire world was in danger.

They landed next to Saeko, and Celia looked at Ranfan, then back at Gray, "I'm not surprised in the slightest that this is who you chose to leave alive."
"Hey," Gray said indignantly as he gestured to the pile of martial artists, "I left them alive too, alright? I don't just look for hot girls!"

"Yeah, you only mostly look for hot girls," Saeko said with a smirk.

"You don't have room to be like that right now," Gray said, raising an eyebrow at Saeko, "Why'd you kill that guy?"

Gray gestured to the Saiyan corpse on the ground.

"He was being annoying," Saeko bristled, "He arrived late and missed the fight, so he wanted to kill them."
Saeko pointed towards the pile of unconscious martial artists. Gray nodded approvingly at her.

"Anyway," Celia looked Ranfan in the eyes, "You'll answer some questions, right? I'd rather this not be difficult…"

"Yup!" Ranfan said, the girl giving Celia and friendly smile, then looking at Gray, "You saved me, so I don't mind. Though, can we go somewhere warmer?"

Gray looked at the girl's outfit, which was a pair of long loose-fitting jeans, and a sleeveless black shirt that was tight against her, showing off her large breasts through the thin fabric. Overall, it looked more like beach wear than ice-cold-mountain wear.

"I don't know where…" Gray trailed off, looking around the winter wonderland around them, the only possible source of warmth being the set of buildings, "We could fly off these mountains, but I don't know where more enemies might be, so I'd rather not go in blind."

"We'll go in there," Celia said, pointing towards a spot in the snow a few feet away, "There's something under there. A couple of weak energy sources."

"That's the door we came out of," Ranfan supplied helpfully, "There's heating in there, that'll work!"

They walked over to the trap door in the snow, Saeko easily finding the hidden handle as she opened it. They climbed down a ladder, a gust of warm air blasting into them as they did. Gray glanced around as they reached the bottom, seeing a long tunnel stretching out with various jail cells on each side.

"We were being held here," Ranfan supplied sadly at his look, "We were the backup plan. Our job was to hold someone off long enough for the rest of them to get on the high ground. If any of us lived, they said we would be set free."
"I'll go get the other fighters," Saeko said, turning back to the ladder, "They'll die of frostbite up there. I don't care about any of this stuff anyway."

"You can start without me, Gray," Celia said simply as she started walking down the tunnel, "There's a few energy sources down here. Weak ones. I'll deal with them quickly. Then, I'll go check out the soldier's armor. Scouter-blocking technology is a big deal. Explain everything to me later, please."

Both girls left, leaving Gray and Ranfan standing alone in the tunnel.

"So," Gray said, locking eyes with the woman, "Start from the beginning. Don't leave out anything. Tell me everything you know about the state of this planet."

"Alright," Ranfan sighed, looking up into his eyes, "Have you heard of the Red Ribbon Army?"

AN: Thanks for reading, hope y'all enjoyed! Chapter 14 will be out on Wednesday, or you can read it right now on my Patreon! It's more of a setup one, but Chapter 15 is when shit really goes down.

That'll be out one week from now on here, or Wednesday on Patreon, and is going to end up being pretty much 2-3x longer than the usual chapters. (This is also why Patreon is still only 1 chapter ahead atm - that'll be changing to 5 ahead soon, but I've been spending my time writing and rewriting chapter 15 a bunch of times instead of writing ahead.)

Also - recently posted two more stories. One is an SAO fic, and the other is a DXD dungeon gamer fic (both harems). Check them out if that sounds appealing!
