Netflix's The Witcher Set For 2020 Release

IDK what Cavil's reasons for leaving are, but anyway, good for him, he was moderately resembling a Geralt, though he's no Żebrowski.
Anyway, IDK what his reasons are. "The Witcher" of Netflix's (Netflitcher) shall continue, so hope Netflitcher's fans are fine with the new actor (Hemsworth, the brother, right? if I heard correctly) for netfliwitcher's role.
I only know that I've watched one and a half seasons (how did I manage to last that long? who knows) of Netflitcher and that was a self-harm, a little, so I shouldn't have done it. Because I'm a huuuuge fan of "Wiedźmin" ("Witcher" / "Hexer" / whatever) since 90s.
Anyway, folks, if anybody's in the same boat as me, my advice is: don't self-harm your psyche. pft.

Ah, damage control. I really get the feeling this is a massive tempest in a teapot on the part of internet fandom, though. Although...responding after 2 months of quiet, really?!

Netflix's The Witcher showrunner disputes claims the show's writers "mocked the books"

The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich has responded to The Witcher fans and insisted she has "never mocked the books" …
This is something of a non-response because its exactly what you'd expect the head of a writers room to say in response to criticism that said writers room doesn't respect the books.

Its not going to change the debate, or persuade anyone who was previously undecided, so I'm kinda confused why they did it, and six months later of all things.

"About to start filming"? I hope their scripts are completely locked in, what with the strike and all.

The Witcher is getting a fifth season on Netflix

An early vote of confidence in Liam Hemsworth.
While fans await season 3 of The Witcher, Netflix already has its eyes on season 5. In an interview with Deadline, Sophie Holland, the show's casting director, explained, "We're just about to start filming on season four with Liam Hemsworth and there will be a short gap then we go straight into season five."

The third season of the fantasy show will kick off on June 29th — but only the first half. Much like Stranger Things 4, Netflix is splitting The Witcher season 3 into two volumes, the second of which will premiere in July.

Seems more then a little presumptious that people would even want a 5th season when A: 3rd hasn't been released and B: not know how people will react to Hemsworth, but after all the mess with Cavil and releasing a completly pointless prequel show, I don't think they care at all about the titular character.

First part of the season is out.

Haven't read the books, but if this is the writers completely disregarding them I hope they continue to do so because I am down for more Dad!Geralt, Mom!Yennefer and Uncle!Jaskier.

Well, second part is out.
Not much happens, although it does start with the best episode title I've seen in a while.
Not sure I'm going to like next season because Ciri is in for a bad period.

Wow, that's blunt.

‘The Witcher’ Author Says Netflix “Never Listened” to His Ideas

Franchise author Andrzej Sapkowski says the streamer didn't heed his suggestions for the show, which has been plagued by uproars over deviations from its source material.
[Andrzej] Sapkowski was asked at Vienna Comic-Con last week if he's given Netflix any feedback and he replied with a laugh, "Maybe, I gave them some ideas, but they never listened to me. But it's normal." He then broke into an impression of a Netflix executive and said dismissively, "Who's this? It's an author, it's nobody."

Netflix had no comment on the remarks.
