Mythological Summoner (Worm/Altpower!Taylor)

in this case, if Mithra is summoned, would she have healing and anti-Master abilities, since neither ability is in the description?

Because of their lore descriptions and it's variants... yes, she have healing capabilities...

She didn't have anti-Master ones. But she have a way to see if someone is lying or not.

... I'll read Mithra's myth later to see more. There might be something that I missed.

I see. There is one more question about Mithra. How good is her healing? Can she heal anything short of death?

So after reading Mithra's myth and it's derivatives, I decided to make it so she is only able to maintain their health. Not really healing them, but her blessings will cause that person to be healthy.

Which means, even if some random Cape out there decided to spread some plague or poison those blessed by her, they won't be affected by it due to being bestowed "Healthy Body".

Ah, thank you.

Hm, in that case, the incentive for Mithra does not seem as high as before. While Mithra can give the "Healthy Body" blessing, Asclepius is still the superior healer. Other than that matter and helping to forge friendships, she primarily promises victory in battle.

When it comes to such matters, one would actually gravitate towards Vaisravana. While she does not actually guarantee victory as a war god, she cares for mortals and inspires their hearts with courage so that they can act decisively, along with purifying evil spirits and bestowing both spiritual and material bliss.

I would still vote for Mithra for her PR abilities. She would be a much needed face of the group if we want to avoid the Villain label.

Hm, perhaps, but with the wide selection of choices, no few of the others would be excellent for accruing good will.

Asclepius, Neneko, Aegis, Indra, Simurgh, Ent, Flora, Genbu, Seiryuu, Suzaku, Mizuhanome, Amdusias, Amy, Flauros, Ose, Caladrius, Hestia, Lamassu, and Vaisravana are all capable of doing much good with their abilities. In such cases, let their good works, as discussed with Taylor, speak for themselves.

Asclepius I agree. We need her but we do need a all rounder to balance out the summons. I wanted Mithra because she was that. She does not have healing abilities but she has the rest like PR, protection, victory in combat and ability to forge friendships along with the ability to see the truth which is very important.

One is not opposed to summoning Mithra. There is simply uncertainty that she should be the next one summoned.

Before anything else, a firm foundation needs to be established in order to know how to proceed. It is why one thinks that an advisor is needed before anything else. Between the candidates of Simurgh, Odin, and Genbu, one would gravitate towards Genbu as the next summoned to be the advisor. With how she values wisdom and teaches good judgement and how to live a better life, it would be a crucial building block for Taylor in deciding how to proceed, formulate a sound, long-term design. Besides, Genbu can teach others alongside Taylor, and it would certainly foster public good will. Good judgement and knowing how to live a better life are fundamental, precious things.

Ah. I see your point but current needs have to be taken into account. The Authorities see us as a Villain and that HAS to be challenged. Preferably soon before it sets in. That was why I chose Mithra, as she is both a heavy hitter up there with Bahamut, she also has the best PR we can get at the moment.

Good advice is something we desperately need but in Worm, the main cause of so many problems, besides the space whales, is the lack of communication or misunderstandings. Both of which, having Mithra fixes. That she is also a guardian and can give blessings just rounds her off and makes her a superior choice to summon right now.

One can see the point, though frankly, one thinks that an advisor should have been the first one summoned in retrospect. Bahamut's flailing could at least have been mitigated if Genbu had been present to point out the potential problems.

Considering Genbu's focus upon wisdom, good judgement, and living a better life, one would think that she could also address the matter of lack of communication and misunderstandings. One does concede that she cannot give blessings of health as Mithra could, but Genbu is also a guardian that ensures the survival of the world, albeit her charge is the northern direction. However, it is said that she is a guardian of the north alongside Vaisravana, so there is synergy between the two. Genbu's spiritual powers, the part that is the snake, can also eliminate disasters.

As to the concern about the villain label, hm, @Levelgap, how urgent is it to address that matter?

Well, Mithra is perhaps less likely to inadvertently create problems like Bahamut did, though one could make the argument that power without wisdom to guide and direct it could cause greater harm.

One supposes that we will have to disagree upon this matter, as one would still advocate for summoning Genbu next

Not really something you have to worry about, unless you are somehow alone without Bahamut by your side, they won't try and make a move on you.

I am planning to write something about what happened when Bahamut escapes to get to Taylor as quickly as possible but I didn't know where to put it now, so I didn't write it.

Essentially, the way she brute forces her way was seen on the surveillance camera from her cell and Piggot decided to essentially stop provoking her after Bahamut basically no sells everything in their base, like the tranquilizers, containment foams, and even the Brute class cells (while being polite about it).

Bahamut even have the time to ask if there are any people in there before she even committed to the act, which causes her to be delayed when Taylor is calling her. She also became a bit careful now because she didn't want to trouble cause trouble for Taylor anymore.

Due to all of this fact, so the PRT is only waiting for Taylor to do something that will essentially make everyone against her.

The PRT is asking for reinforcements from the other branch which, is not going to happen unless something big happens on this city.

Someone escaping the PRT cell is just another Tuesday on Brockton Bay, so no one would bat an eye on it even if Piggot asked for it.

.... I said this all because I don't know how to write a scene about this...

OMAKE - Bahamut vs Behemoth?
Yeah, in that case, it would be very good if we offer the hand of friendship right now.

That really has to be our next action, sit down and talk.....again.
_____________________

A small Omake, I read through Bahamut's powers and came across this little gem. I wondered what would happen if Taylor Ordered Bahamut to do this.
_____________________

Taylor kept asked herself just what she was doing here even as she was being shielded from the infamous radioactive kill aura. In the tv, Behemoth had barely even started to surface and already she was starting to regret this.

She could only watch in dread as the Endbringer quickly climbed out of the hole he had made and it was at that moment that the capes started falling. Once again, she deeply regreted volunteering to help with the wounded with Bahamut.

Though Bahamut had told Taylor she could fight the Endbringer, Taylor refused, not wanting to lose her friend. As much as she wanted to believe her, as much as Taylor DID believe her, Taylor could not risk loosing Bahamut, not after how she lost her Mother. Yet she could not take her mind off the battle, not with the voice coming from her armband.

"…… down. ……… down. ……. dead. ………… Dead …." the voice droned on. Taylor could barely concentrate as people were being brought into the tents.

Her body moving virtually on auto pilot along side Bahamut, she was startled out of her trance when the alarm went off. A sound that filled her with Dread as that meant that the Endbringer was approaching the Hospital tents. She rushed only to see the Endbringer making it's way on towards the tents, seemingly not paying any mind to the capes attacking him.

Taylor chocked at seeing the monster getting closer and closer before being grabbed by Bahamut.

"Master, please give me orders." Bahamut said desperately and Taylor cursed as she realized that she had forbidden Bahamut from fighting the Endbringer.

She could only watch as the Endbringer approached, desperately trying to say something, some way that Bahamut could get themselves out of the situation without risking her life. As the Endbringer loomed above them, a memory flashed before her eyes and she ended up blurting the first thing that came to her mind.

"Bahamut, eat the Endbringer."

Later on, during the celebration party, she would deeply regret that the first thing that that came to her mind was the fact that Bahamut could eat literally anything, even if it was not possible for her to do so.

We should at least pretend to follow the flimsy rules that capes follow. All of the major groups probably already know Taylor's civilian identity and have tracked down her dad. I want to level the playing field by knowing who they are and what they are doing.

Worse case scenario, someone kidnaps Danny and we track him down. More likely Coil already has a sniper in place and is doing simulated headshots to find out about Taylor's abilities and we learn about it. Should check the internet and news about what is being told about the new skylight in the PRT Headquarters.

Miracle 2.2
'Right, why should I bother? I am already known by the PRT anyway...' Taylor thought. "Let's go." She said before opening the door.

Bahamut quickly followed along.

By being carried by Bahamut, they quickly manage to reach the Dockworker's Union through the rooftops.

Taylor felt like Bahamut is holding back. It feels like she can go faster than this but is not doing so because she is worried for her.

Taylor felt happy as she thinks about this. She can see that Bahamut is trying her best to be considerate.

'And I don't want to know what will happen if she goes faster than this while I was being carried by her.' She thought with a shudder.

When they got to the Dockworker's Union, Taylor immediately goes straight to her Dad's office.

It's been a long time since she visited this place so she was unsure if she still knows her way here. Fortunately, the place hadn't changed that much.

"... Oh, is that you Taylor?" One of the workers on the Union saw them and seems to be familiar with her. "Hey, long time no see, what are you doing here!" He greeted before asking happily.

Taylor feel that the guy is familiar but didn't recall his name. Though she was sure he was one of the guys going on their house when her family is still okay.

Recalling those memories made Taylor a bit depressed, but she manages to take her mind off of it and ask him a question.

"Uh... where is my Dad? I want to tell something." She asked.

"Oh. He is on the main building there. Kurt might be there so I am sure he can guide you to him if he is not there." The guy replied. "... By the way, who is this beauty?" He asked when he noticed Bahamut behind her.

"... Ah..." Taylor put her mouth shut.

She didn't know how to explain this.

Though, it seems like the guy notice Bahamut's horns as he made a realization.

"Oh, is she the Cape that Danny's talking about?" He said.

"Huh? Dad tells you about it!?" Taylor said in surprised.

"Well yeah... he said something about her." The guy said before greeting her. "Good day to you. Danny said your a good person, so your welcome here anytime!" He said with a grin.

"I appreciate your welcome!" Bahamut replied with a proud look.

"... Okay. Anyway, we have to look for my Dad. Thank you for telling us!" Taylor said before leaving the place.

Bahamut nodded at him in a polite way before she followed her Master.

When they got to the main building, they find Kurt, one of her Dad's closest friend in the Union.

It seems like Danny also told him about Taylor's situation. He leads her to his Dad which is currently working through some documents.

"Hey, your little girl's looking for you!" Kurt said.

Danny quickly stops what he is doing as his attention turned to the entrance. From there, he can see Kurt, and behind Kurt is his Daughter and the one that she summoned.

"What are you doing here?" Danny asked in concern.

He was nervous about his Daughter going out and making herself expose to the city, mostly because the PRT or the gang might suddenly attack her.

"Actually, I have an idea about how I can help in this city." Taylor said before continuing. "I just want to tell you first because... it involves the Boat Graveyard." Taylor said while feeling a bit nervous.

Danny took a moment to process it, and then tries to find the connection between the Boat Graveyard and her daughter, before finally recalling how Taylor described Bahamut's way of saving her.

"... Wait, are you going to remove it with Bahamut?"

"It's only Bahamut who is going to do it. But yes, I am going to do so." Taylor answered with determination.

"It's impossible. She can't possibly pick those up." Danny quickly denied it.

"Huh? How? Bahamut already proves that she can smash through concrete and throw it high in the sky, and she did that quickly without breaking a sweat." Taylor explained to her Dad.

"You don't understand. Can she even breathe underwater?" Danny ask that back to his daughter.

"Of course. She originally has fish tail as her legs. She just changed it into normal looking ones because I told her to do it." Taylor said before continuing. "So, I think she can breathe underwater?" She said while feeling unsure.

The both of them look at Bahamut and the Divine Beast quickly confirmed it.

"Of course, this Bahamut can breathe underwater! The ocean is one of my favorite spot after all!" Bahamut declared in pride.

".... I see." Danny said before muttering. "I vaguely recall you telling me that she originally have a fish legs."

"Anyway, is it alright to do so?"

"... Well, it's still impossible to do it." Danny said before continuing. "That place is a mess. There are a lot of legal holders of that place. Of course most of them are gone while some are living in another city, but the city won't care about that. Trying to remove it might become a crime because we don't own any of it." Danny said. "I am still trying to get the approval to even take off the smaller hunks there, but even that is difficult because the city hall is either unresponsive or they deny my proposal due to a lack of funds." He said.

"Wait, why do you need approval to remove it?" Taylor asked in confusion.

"As I said, a lot of people holds the right to the junks in there. The city holds most of the rights for it, though they seem to be getting lazy for it. They didn't want to be bothered calling those owners who are currently living in another part of this country, or even on a different continent." Danny replied with a sigh. "I don't want you to be labelled as a criminal by the public. It's already hard as it is."

"But, the PRT already labelled me as a Villain." Taylor said while feeling confused. "Does it make any difference if I did something that this city sees as a crime?" She asked.

"... That's the thing." Danny said before continuing. "The PRT is still not announcing you or Bahamut's involvement on the chaos yesterday."

"Huh!?"

Taylor is surprised when she heard it.

She asked her Dad and it seems like he only learned it through Lacey, Kurt's wife, about the news talking about it.

The PRT only said that "The Villain have escaped captivity and is currently on the run. Please report any sightings of weird animal behaviour."

They didn't tell who is the Villain, other than they escaped.

Danny didn't know what they are trying to do. Though he was thankful because it meant that no one still knows it was Taylor and her summon.

Though, it seems like there are disturbing reports about some E88 & ABB goons wandering the Docks and looking for the animal Master.

It seems like both of those gangs were provoked by the "Mysterious Animal Master". On the E88's case, it was because almost every dogs from their dog fighting ring managed to escape. On the ABB's side, one of Oni Lee's adjutant is one of the casualties on the chaos yesterday.

It seems like his adjutant has a hobby of collecting poisonous snakes and those snakes bit him after he tries to stop them from escaping.

It seems like most people know that the animals and insects have gathered on the Docks, though they don't know the specific place where.

Anyway, he didn't know what the PRT wanted to do. The gangs seems to be aware that the Cape is somewhere on the Docks and is trying to track them down.

All of this info came from Danny's connection on the Docks. It seems like he was also trying to reach out to some of his friends on the Downtown.

"So that's why, I hope you don't do anything for now. Let the heat die down first." Danny said to her.

Taylor tried to think about it.

The PRT hasn't announced that it was Bahamut who did the chaos yesterday, which means no one knows that she is involved in it.

But still, the PRT made their stance clear that they saw her as a Villain.

If she is a villain in their eyes then, isn't it fine to remove the junks and large structures (like the oil tanker) on the Boat Graveyard?

If she did that though, the two gangs might become suspicious of her. Mostly because removing the Boat Graveyard will cause eyes to point in her way.

Though, she is confident that Bahamut can deal with them. It is still preferable if no conflict occurs.

'I wonder what I should do?'

Voting time will end in 16 ~ 720 hours.

So it was revealed that the PRT didn't tell the public about Bahamut and Taylor. They only hinted that she is a Villain.

This is their way of declaring that she saw her as a Villain but won't provoke her by outright telling the public about her identity.

It is also standard procedure not to say a Cape's civilian identity, regardless if they are a villain or not.

So they are just really playing some mental games and see if Taylor will try to look for help, or be violent and lash out to the gangs.

They see Bahamut as someone nearly on par with Lung. They still think Lung will win if she fought him.

Though, just by being labeled like that, they wanted to be very careful on their move. They don't want the scary Animal Master 8 with Brute 8 durability and strength to rampage after all.

That's their rating for her by the way.

[X] Ask Bahamut if she can clear the boat graveyard without anyone knowing it was her that did so, the main part is to do it in secrecy as if there is chance of being caught they should abort it immediately. Regardless of chance, wait for things to calm down before attempting.

Lol, I just woke up, and lo and behold, a new chapter!
Good thing we didn't go for that spying option with the animals, may have screwed us if the PRT caught on.

And yeah, the legal side of things for the boat graveyard is likely to take a while, so best leave it to Danny who now knows there's a possibility of it being cleared out.

Oh, and my vote is basically one chunk because last time I tried to put several options, but somehow they turned into two separate votes? Weird. Oh and also, while @Levelgap did already answer about Bahamut's capabilities, Taylor technically has no such information, so I decided to get that out there and increase her knowledge of Bahamut and widen her options.

[X]Leave the Boat Graveyard alone until Danny can work around the issue of it being criminal to clear out. With the clear-out being a bust, best focus on other ways of being productive, ask Bahamut if she's capable of creating anything material/food...etc seeing as she can supposedly turn into the land, there must be a connection with what "land" can provide. If there's still time, drop by Parian's shop for a quick chat for ideas.

Like the idea, but no need to involve Parian.

Piggot conveniently neglected to mention that at least one of the two that apparently died was an ABB gang member, an adjutant of Oni Lee, no less. What a surprise.

Well, with the next threadmark, it will be time to decide the next summons. Given Danny's current problems, along with Taylor's own issues about not being sure how to guide her summons, help the city, and improve her own life, one would still advocate summoning Genbu of the Five Gods, guardians of the world. With Genbu present to provide and teach wisdom, good judgement, and how to live a better life, Taylor would certainly be able to start improving the circumstances, making friends, winning hearts and minds, bettering the city. Genbu would be able to help Danny as well in giving sound advice, regarding legal matters or otherwise. Who knows? If a meeting could be arranged with the mayor, Genbu could provide him valuable advice and thus gain influence and favour with him, which would certainly be useful for Taylor and the city as a whole.
