Mega Loops

@Conceptulist: It'd be easier for me to find changes if I either a) had the original around or b) had something to identify chages, as I only noticed the changes due to the increase italics. Anyway's here's the third and I think maybe final part of Wily 'Awakens'

-Wily 'Awakens' Part 3-

The Lights' were shocked when they heard Bass call them, informing them of the fact that not only was Wily dreaming but he was sane. When they found out why he was like that, they felt it should make sense.

They knew of Gendo Ikari through the other Loopers, thank the gods they hadn't have to deal with the man themselves. If you had looked up the words 'Manipulative Asshole' you would see a big fat of Gendo Ikari taking up the whole page. They had actually pitied Wily for having to deal with him. Any perceived grievances from Dr. Light would have looked pathetic compared to what Gendo must've done.

They were shocked at what Shinji and Rei did for Wily, it seemed some of the old man's problem's might have stemmed from jealousy with Rock and Roll's relationship with Dr. Light.

They had decided not to inform Wily of the Loops. Mainly because one of his more standard versions would end up dreaming that information and... while it was doubtful he could cause another Crash, they were not willing to risk reality on the chance he couldn't.

"Still," started Rock with a smile on his face, "This shows that there is good in Wily."

"Hey can we call Dad something else," asked Bass from the computer he was calling on, "Calling him Wily kind of makes me think of the standard version we have to deal with."

"I agree," replied Dr. Light, "Maybe we should call him Albert, as that was what I called him when we were working together."

"Makes sense," said Roll, "You two used to be friends before he went evil, and this version of him seems to be closer to the man you worked with Dad."

This got nods from everyone.

"Maybe we can throw a party for him, possibly use positive reinforcement to get this version of him to appear more in loops," suggested Rock

"Well you guys plan that. I've got things to do," replied Bass.

"Huh? What is it," wondered Rock.

"Playing piano, apparently in that loop I was a natural pianist, Dad said I didn't have any data about playing them and I was rather good. I want to practice to see if that is true." Replied Bass with a grin, if that was true Roll was so going to enjoy their next date. This news caused all the Lights' to blink as they thought that if Bass had taken up an instrument he would've picked one under his namesake.

-End Part 3-

So how was it, any corrections/tips will be appreciated. Tried to include more actual talking/thinking. Also should I make one more part, maybe the Lights' meeting up with Albert?

Sorry BurningClaw. I have to use the BB code for formating since I'm on my phone. When I am doing mass changes like this it takes for ever to do, and I keep forgetting to put "[/" instead of "[" or "[\" at the BB formating code endpoint, and blah blah blabity blah blah.

I will try to remember to make the changes stand out in the future.

Thanks that's all I can ask, also how do I get the manual quotes to point out a person's name?

They had decided not to inform Wily of the Loops, mainly because one of his more standard versions would end up dreaming that information and possibly cause another Crash, they weren't dismissing the idea that Wily could do so. While Wily's skill and genius may actually help them at least reconstruct the memory of the Lost Loopers, he is not normally stable thus that could lead to some problems.
This paragraph could use some work. Aside from the run-on structure obscuring the meaning of the sentences, Wily is neither capable of reconstructing memories of the lost Anchor nor would he be able to cause another Crash as he is now.

The missing memories requires Yggdrasil access and giving that to mortals in a big no-no.

While Wily can't cause a 'capital letter' Crash right now, 'lowercase' crashes resulting in things like Eiken or MST3K Safe Mode Loops are still possible and the Lights would prefer to keep those to a minimum.

Also, the DBZ snippet being discussed (for some reason it wasn't in the gathered snippet collection so I pulled it off of the work file on my computer I keep):

The gathered loopers looked at the group of robots seated among them with something akin to awe.

"I think... I think you may be the only ones to actually make it through an entire Dragon Ball Loop without letting a single planet or moon blow up."

"Is it really that unusual?" Rock asked in confusion.

For Lelouch this fused loop was interesting, not only was he replacing one of the local villains. Said villain happened to be a Combat robot designed to take out a pair of robots called Mega Man and Mega Woman. He had kept both his names, in armor he was called Zero, while outside it he was Lelouch. He also had a support unit in the form of a large black Hawk called Shinkiro.

That however wasn't the most surprising thing, no it was the fact that he was in a world quite similar to his own but there was no Holy Britannian Empire, instead it was the United States of America.

As he lost himself into his thought he began to absent mindedly rub Shinkiro's beak causing the robotic hawk to thrill in content. It was rather surprising just how much the world can change from some variances in history, in his time the colonies lost but in this one they had won their freedom. Really it is quite intriguing and was rather similar to his United States of Japan idea.

No matter, its time to do what he does best and play the villain, though he wonders how he can kill his 'father' one Dr. Wily and make it appear as if Mega Man's support unit did the deed? He'll figure something out, first he'll have to fight Mega Man and Mega Woman maybe that can inspire him. Oh he'll love this loop not only was he not physically weak as his baseline was, he had manage to up his physical abilities to at least below average instead of abysmal throughout his time in the loops, but he also had a few tricks built into his robotic body. Maybe he can see if he can keep them.
There's the Code Geass/Mega Man fused.

I thought we all agreed, Wily does the impossible for a hobby!

I wouldn't put it past the man to figure out how to get by that. Which is why they decided not to tell Albert about the Loops. Heck I'm pretty sure him, Weil, or Master Albert was the one that started to first Crash.

I only put the possibility of Crash as the Light's being cautious. The memory reconstructing is mainly due to Wily's skill in Robotics as he'd be one of the few people who could actually work with very little data. I'm pretty sure the guy can manage to make a fully functional Evil Lair that'll only collapse after he's been defeated out of a cardboard box and a couple of paper clips.

He does, but there's 'impossible' and then there's 'IMPOSSIBLE'. Mortals messing with Yggdrasil; regardless of who, how, or why; falls squarely under the latter. Haruhi making her Loop self-activate was played for laughs once, and it was definitely a one-time gag.

With the Megaverse being the closest known branch to 'ground zero', one of them being involved in the original Crash that damaged Yggdrasil is a possibility. However making that definitive instead of vaguely implied isn't going to happen. I was politely asked to throttle back on such things when starting the Mega Loops and I'm going to put my foot down in regards to moving back in that direction.

If you want to include the possibility of another Crash, I'd say make the mention something like: It was highly unlikely that Dr. Wily could cause another Crash if he gained information about the Loops, but... better safe than sorry. No need to tempt fate when you didn't have to.

Added something similar to the snippet. Is that good or should I just scrap that paragraph?

Needs to be simplified. Like so:

This is still making the possibility sound more likely than I'm comfortable with. A suggested edit:

Since Wily is Dreaming there might be ways to control what he dreams of. After all in real life there are techniques to control what we dream, it is just a matter of introducing the Albert to it and telling him to dream of better times. Though this does run the risk of more evil Wilys getting their hands on it so it is still a 50/50 shot of which Wily is Dreaming.
make him dream of beyonard? sorry wrong willy

Repost from the Pokemon thread, since it's tangentially Mega Man.
---
"Pikachu?"

"Yeah, Ash?"

"Why are we robots?"

"I don't know. And that 'Super Adapter' thing is just plain weird..."

"Yeah. I mean, you're my best friend and all, but I don't want to become one with you or something..."
---
In case it's not obvious, Ash and Pikachu Looped over into the Mega Man Universe; Ash replaced Rock, while Pikachu replaced Rush.

Hilariously the "Burst" thing from that one manga wherein a Human uses a "Burst Heart" to fuse with the Pokemon kept inside is likely to be one of Pokemon's variant loops after this. Because their conversation is just begging for it to happen.

On another note on the latest issue of Archie Comics Megaman I have this to say.

1. Blues has issues. We all knew it was coming, but it was interesting to see it play out.

2. X Segment has Cameos of characters we know from the games in the background, as well as some other "interesting" designs.

I can't wait to see what comes next.

I would have been absolutely astonished if Blues didn't have issues. I mean, even the shoddy storyline of the games implies there's a reason he's estranged from Dr. Light and the rest.

I know, that is why it was fantastic to finally see them play it out. Everyone expected that he was messed up just from the games, but to see it in pen and ink is just fascinating. I really like how the Comics are fleshing out the characters from the "bare bones" the games characterization gives them. While Megamix and other Manga have done a good job they have not shown just how messed up Blues should be in my opinion.

I can't wait to see how Enker, Bass and the rest of the "Special Units" get characterized, as they are beings that should by all right be more "developed" then the other Boss Characters as they were custom built as top of the line models. rather then being re purposed designs and modifications of existing robots.

Bass and the Megaman Killers were created specifically to kill Megaman, so it should be interesting to see how their personalities develop along with that goal in mind.

Why, it's more My Mega Pony! Soon you shall be introduced to the Stars, and I'm betting none of you are guessing what I'm going to do with them.

Twilight wandered the halls of the palace as she took stock of what had happened in the last couple of days.

The initial event had been an unexpected disaster. Reports had poured in regarding injuries sustained as the magic necessary for certain tasks and devices gave out, panic in the streets of most major cities and towns, and massive damages as magically reinforced construction gave out.

The city of Cloudsdale in particular had been completely destroyed as the magic holding it together came undone, and only the brave efforts of many of its citizens had saved the rest. All in all, Twilight considered it a miracle no one had died yet.

The massive shroud of dark magic that covered the land had yet to lift, making the brightest of days no sunnier than a night under the full moon. And the nights... The nights were practically pitch black. The kind of darkness that stifled activity and incited fears of what lurked in the endless shadows.

She still had no luck with accessing her magic. She couldn't even access her subspace pocket beyond pulling a few trinkets that were either utterly useless in improving the situation, or made that way upon contact with the dark magic shroud permeating the known world.

Others weren't much better off. Celestia herself had yet to regain consciousness and Twilight had heard from her brother that Cadance was in a similar state. Luna was the only alicorn unaffected, and she was being driven into the ground by the sudden demands on her time just keeping the nation from self-destructing.

After the two affected alicorns, unicorns had been hit the worst in the initial event due to the fact that their primary focus for magic was on their head, but all races were affected. Some had recovered better than others, but the catch was that they had less magical ability to lose in the first place. The greatest magic in the land outside of Luna right now amounted to a cantrip, and the speediest pegasus courier at the moment wasn't much better than a land runner. Earth ponies tended to rely on magic less in their daily lives and were adjusting better, but even they were finding that they used more subconscious magic than they ever suspected as their typical tasks became that much harder.

The Elements had gone totally dark, which had made Twilight wonder if this attack was specifically to eliminate them, and possibly the higher tier magical entities like Celestia, and everything else was collateral damage. If so, it was amazingly effective. She'd attempted to overpower the suppression a few times, resulting in lots of pain and a few more bouts of unconsciousness, and her friends weren't much better. Rarity was in a state similar to herself, Fluttershy and Applejack had proven that their favored abilities gained from the Loops didn't work any better than their native magic, Spike's finely honed Jedi awareness had reacted badly to the event resulting in him being effectively 'out of it' until further notice, and even the Unawake Rainbow Dash was effectively grounded. The pegasus mare so regularly used weather magic to aid her flying that she had trouble flying straight without it.

But Perhaps the biggest indication of how thorough whatever this was had been was that Pinkie Pie couldn't muster the magical force necessary to re-poof her currently razor-straight mane for more than a few seconds before it deflated again, and even that effort was exhausting her.

And of course their new friends Rock and Roll were still utterly inactive. They had dropped in the middle of the gala like someone had flipped an off switch and nothing anyone did could get them back online. Yet, strangely enough their older brother was unaffected.

"You need to tell them," she heard Luna's voice right before she rounded a corner. Many Loops of experience in cloak and dagger type scenarios prompted her to conceal herself as best as possible and eavesdrop.

"I will," the voice of Blues responded, "eventually."

"That is what I used to tell myself in regards to the jealousy I felt towards my sister," Luna retorted. "I would tell myself that I'd let her know how I felt 'soon' and before I knew it I was blasting her through a wall in rage. You are tainted with the Nightmare just as I was. It's dark whispers will wear down your defenses as they did mine, until a dark parody of yourself is all that's left."

'Well,' Twilight thought to herself, 'that certainly explains why they weren't affected. Luna probably built up a tolerance from playing host for a thousand years and anyone currently infected is probably exempt from the effects.'

She found herself breathing a sigh of relief as she realized this probably meant that Nyx was unaffected as well considering that her mechanical body this Loop basically ran on something very similar, though thankfully not inclining her to sinister acts any more than usual.

"I can handle it," Blues insisted. "I'm not hearing whispers or words or anything. Just a barely perceptible prodding to act on some of my darker thoughts."

"And that is how it starts," Luna returned just as stubbornly.

"I've been dealing with these thoughts for longer than most think," Blues retorted. "The Nightmare isn't bringing anything new to the table."

"For your sake, I hope not," Luna relented as a messenger ran up to the two with news.

Alrighty, I'm going to attempt to finish "Wily's 'Awakening'" now. If you guys see any edits that need to be made please tell me, and I'll try to fix them. If you show grammar corrections please make them stand out either by color changes or style changes so I know where to make the changes and what they are. Now onto the show.

-Wily's 'Awakening' Finale-

The Lights managed to keep their shock when they met up with Albert. It was one thing to hear about it, it was entirely different to see it for yourself.

Albert kept the skull motto for his machines but the look in his eyes made him seem more at peace then one would expect from him. There was still madness but it was tempered by the joys he had felt when he experienced that Fused Loop.

When Albert had gotten off his Wily Machine he was followed by two humanoid figures. The first was Bass in civilian attire with Treable right next to him. It was the next person that shocked them, the civilian attire made it slightly harder to recognize him right off the bat.

Wearing a pair of black jeans and a black sleeveless shirt with a red biker jacket was none other then Dr. Wily's most powerful creation, Zero. Apparently Albert felt that this time around his youngest should be aloud to experience the world with his family.

"It's a pleasure to see you for what feels like the first time for me, Dr. Light," said Albert politely as he held out his hand to Dr. Light. This made the Lights wonder exactly what did Shinji and Rei do with Wily while they were here.

Dr. Light quickly recovered from his shock and took Albert's hand shaking it as he replied, "No the pleasure is all mine Dr. Wily, but please call me Thomas."

This made Albert smile somewhat as he replied, "Only if you call me Albert." Dr. Light's actions showing that Albert's apparent memories were the truth Light was someone that cared little for fame and was truly a forgiving person. The fact that the man was so willing to accept him even with what his mind said he had done was proof of this.

"Deal," said Dr. Light smiling, happy to be with the man whom he was called friend once more. Blues, Rock, and Roll were tense years of dealing with Wily made them anticipate some form of deceit from the man, but as they watched they felt their guards dropping. Especially when they saw Zero looking around himself in like a kid in a new environment which he technically is.

"Oh. Where are my manners I haven't introduced my sons," said Albert breaking off the discussion he was having with Dr. Light, "Thomas these are my son's Bass and his younger brother Zero." At this Albert nodded to them both and they nodded in the direction of the Lights. "Of course they should be two children, but I have a feeling that even if I built them again they wouldn't turn out the same," Albert continued his tone taking a depressed tone as he said this.

This had caused the Lights' eyes to widen. Not only was he referring to both Bass and Zero has his sons but he felt such a deep connection with his 'children' that he could tell if they wouldn't be alike. This just showed that Albert was different from his Baseline, as this one held a deeper bond with his creations then the Baseline Wily ever did. This revelation made them depress as well as it was possible that once the Loops are done for good then they may never see Albert again.

Albert smiled sadly at the reactions of the Lights believing that they felt sympathy for him, before shaking his head. He then said, "I believe you have a few people to introduce Thomas."

This made Dr. Light nod before introducing his children, "These are from oldest to youngest, Blues, Rock, and Roll." Each respective robot nodded at their name.

As time passed by the Wily's where welcomed into Light Labs, everyone having a feeling of melancholy as the colleagues' Wily and Light once more began to get along.

-Fin-

Tell me what might need cutting, and any idea's to fix this up. Hope you all enjoyed it.
