Magus Quest [HP|Type-Moon]

Gonna be that lone vote for the first-gen Magus.
I wanted apprentice one though since that is obviously not winning.
Honestly, I'd be fine with anything but the 'ancient legacy' choice at this point, but I can't cast a negative vote against it...

EDIT: Also I second the notion for a nice 3-piece suit (regardless of gender), and suggest a nice hat on occasion!

[X] You are a first-generation practitioner who due to some whim of fate was taken as an apprentice by an extremely influential member of the Magus Association. Why you were taken in as her student remains to be seen for you have yet to learn the reason behind her generosity. While you lack status in the eyes of the established families, your patron is extremely well respected and feared leaving you in the unenviable position of being too well placed to ignore yet not perceived as strong enough to be a true Player yourself yet. You hunger greatly for success and acknowledgement, and you may just carve yourself a place in the Moonlit World if you do not let the many-fold challenges ahead of you strike you down.

I want that amazing teacher! And there's likely hidden bonuses, since her reasons for choosing us are unclear. And I like that ambition. Ambition is good for the soul. Just ask Riddle. :p

Wait, what? *reads sig* Hmmm... Maybe, good sir, maybe...

Also, at this point I'm really itching for an anti-vote. My lord (Vanathor)! Is that... legal?! Cause I'll totally put in a [Y] vote as a negative [X]...

EDIT: *actually loads 'Suits'* Good sir, before you had my curiosity; Now you have my attention.

No anti-votes. Vote for option you like the best.

Ah well... Mmm, I may as well jump ships now and fight for the more interesting option.

Screw it vote change.

[X] A clan which possesses a positively ancient lineage that is known to produce Magi of exceptional quality. While your potential is high, your family has fallen into ill-repute of late due to the previous Head of the Family, your Grandfather, being given a Sealing Designate due to his illicit research in trying to recreate one of the lost True Magics. Despite having fallen on hard times due to this unfortunate series of events, your lineage continues to make steady progress towards your path to the Root. While your grandfather suicided and destroyed much of his workshop rather then allow himself and his work to fall into the hands of the rest of the Lords of the Clocktower, you have recently rediscovered an old research log of his detailing his earlier work into the lost Magic. Do you dare continue your grandfather's research?

I'm a sucker for apprenticeship with an awesome master. The ancient clan option sounds so dull.

@Vanathor are magic crests a thing here?

I-I'm sorry. I couldn't resist....

Meh. All three options are interesting and present different challenges. Though if you expect to acquire a Magic anytime soon with that option, I suggest you think carefully. Just because he was trying, it doesn't mean he was anywhere near success. You have any idea how many people try this only to fail miserably?
I shudder to imagine what exactly recreating a lost Magic(likely the Third or maybe even Fourth, as the others can't be clasified as lost) involved.
Likely lots and lots inhumane experiments.

The advantage here isn't True Magic, it's the long lineage of magi we come from instead. And they've even fallen on hard times and are likely monitored in case one of them gets the idea to continue that work.

EDIT: This of course depends on what exactly True Magic is in this setting. Because HP wizards? Can teleport willy-nilly. And turn back time. Law of Equivalent Exchange? What's that? So, yeah. I'm curious how the worlds were merged exactly.

Gotta appreciate bringing something new to the table and having it appreciated; and sounds like it has the largest chance for mage magic ability combos, which is just viciously appealing.
