It's hardly a liberation if the only thing changing is who he pays tribute to, and the odds are that he'd see this.

Well yeah. Thats why its called an excuse rather than an actual reason. I'm not exactly a follower some International Law nonsense. I needed the money and everyone else has joined a mega-alliance.

  • USPC makes huge gains in the face of weak and outdated ERU resistance.
  • No british landing in Iran, iranian fleet still smashed.
  • Lowered mamluk gains.
  • Savoy independence.
  • add Spanish North Italy to the SPRI

This game never utilized logic, and I'm not saying that magic cannot be illogical. Its going to be hard up the ass for Iran if you don't come back, since I'm 90% sure it's just going to get thrown to the wolves for the newer players to get bones over the logic of three middling powers going against a heavily defensive focused GP.

And for the record, this was entirely Dovahsith and NPC Mamluks, not 'muh League'.

The invasion of Poland also had a pretext, Hitler demanded the concession of the Danzig corridor with its German minority and staged a couple of border incidents in order to intervene.
Even Barbarossa was started because, ostensibly, it was a pre-emptive attack against a possible Soviet invasion (those who could barely win against the Finns, ndr).


Wars always have a casus belli, even when the real reason is landgrabbing, you MUST virtue signal and pretend that you're on the right side, that you don't do it for the clay, or you don't start one at all.

I distinctly remember Oceania attacking me and The United Provinces because 'you did not want to seel when I asked, so I invade without announcing it.'
And I have heard over and over again that starting wars without casus belli given , out of the blue, is the MO in this time and age and I should quit complaining...

Nope, what you've heard is that there's no concept of international law, which is entirely different.
All wars start because of a reason. One event, even a staged one, which gives an excuse to countries to do what they want.

Yep because the people even though the majority of us are monarchy's and the like have to willing to die for a cause or there is a chance for rebellion and mass desertion.

Altzek, Oceania quite literally did not produce any reason other than "they would not sell" .
And I roundly dispute that there was no system of international law. People kept to certain traditions, customs, courtesies and all which were observed. White flags, immunity of paliamentaries and all that.

The good excuse in this case is the liberation of suppressed religious minorities, since Iran is really into that "get rid of those other Muslims in our borders" thing.
