Even if only a small part of the population has magic, and one person in 3000 of them has the necessary affinity, chances are high that the conditions will be met eventually.
Correct me please if I am wrong:
-The temple seems populated enough, there were a few other people in there. We can assume that there is a constant in and out of people over time.
-The temple stands since the time of the founders, which I think was a couple of centuries ago.
-Times where someone capable of stopping the explosion is next to the person with the necessary affinity are extremly rare.
-Robin seems to know what affinities are necessary, implying that this might have happened in the past already.
I feel that I must be overreacting, because the implications don't paint a nice picture, but no one is commenting on it besides me.
Why is nothing known about these deaths?
This might have a complete harmless and satisfying answer, but there is a slightly bigger issue:
Did Robin willingly lure us near this magical death trap? Why?
Even if she is completely confident in her ability to keep us safe in the event of a spontaneously appearing voidhole, I feel like friends shouldn't lure each other unknowingly into these.
This just reminds me so much of these "PRANKS GONE WRONG" videos on youtube. Only worse by a few orders of magnitude.
