Magic Knight Quest (Surprise, you are a Harem Hero now, SV)

Can you cut the sprite down to the head? Because the body doesn't really change between images.

Pretty much this. It would lead to less page loading and less space between paragraphs.
Maybe just use the full-body sprites when they're first introduced in the story?

And damn it, Kazuto really needs to keep his foot away from his mouth.
Or at least filter the stuff coming from his brain. :p

Really like the world-building, and the fact that we start at the bottom and have an uphill climb popularity-wise.

About the sprites, well... I already prepared them beforehand, and it took me quite a while to finish editing them. So, cropping them and making them smaller will take a long ass time. And I'm currently working as a teacher, so I won't have much time editing 'em. We'll make do with what we currently have at the moment.

But, I'll assure you that I'll find a way to remedy this problem. It'll take a while, yes, but it will be solved.

If you send me the gallery, i'll do some work.

I guess it won't be necessary for now. I think I have time to do those.

Also, regarding the sprites, I'd like a compromise; I won't crop the sprites, but I'll make it smaller. Is that better?

On another note, vote will be closed and tallied one hour from now. You guys still have time to vote for your choice.

Smaller sprites kinda defeat the point of being able to see expressions.

Maybe use full body sprite when we see someone and head sprite when we are engaged in conversation?

Vote closed. Update will follow soon.

Edit: By the way, I changed the sprites already. You can see them already cropped. Some of them still retain full body because it seems dramatic.

Yep, that's better on the eyes.
If only there were good enough "action" sprites for that set though...

[X] Investigate the odd presence

Out of curiosity, you choose to investigate the odd presence that you have been sensing. Due to you being a Magic Knight, albeit a fledgling, your sensitivity of mana lingering in the air is much stronger compared to a normal human. There has to be some sort of abnormality within your vicinity, which somehow makes your Stigmata twitch. So, you close your eyes, trying to concentrate where the presence comes from.

?

You manage to sense where it comes from. You start walking down the corridor, guided only by the vague feeling.

You feel strange. Whatever the presence is, it's definitely trying to get away from you. You try chasing after it, but is stopped by the sounds of footsteps behind you.

The moment you hear the footsteps, any traces of the odd presence instantly vanish. Someone is there, standing behind you. You turn around to see the person standing before you, and you see a girl.

A blonde girl is standing behind you with a hardened expression. You note that the girl is very beautiful. She seems to be wearing thigh-high stockings, exposing the skin of her white thighs. Her blue eyes seem cold and calculating, and she looks like she is studying you. Seeing her like this brings some sort of discomforting coldness up your spine.

"Umm..." You try to speak to the girl.

The girl does not speak. But you can feel the temperature around you drastically drops. Your breath starts to fog and ice starts to form around the corridors. It's awfully cold you start shivering.

"Murderer..."

"Eh?" You hear the girl speak in cold, harsh tone. She holds out her hand before something materializes on her palm. Then it extends, forming something thin, sharp and dangerous. She conjures a rapier out of thin air and she starts glaring at you as she swings her rapier in empty air.

"YOU MURDERER!!" She shouts. "YOU'LL PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!"

You are too shocked to respond to her accusation to realize that she starts shooting sharp icicles at you. Luckily, you regain your wit in the nick of time, dodging all the icicles. Thanks to your heightened reflexes, you are able to avoid being skewered by those flying ice spikes.

"I'm not done yet!" The girl bellows before she rushed headlong over your direction, wielding her rapier. You see that her rapier starts glowing. "Soul Art: Cold Fangs!"

"Shit!" You are not the one to easily swear, but seeing the girl using Soul Art on you indicates that the girl is truly trying to kill you, thus justifying you suddenly uttering that swear word. In desperation, you brace yourself for the incoming attack as you imbue your arms with your magic. The girl delivers a flurry of stabs using her rapier, and you use your arms to defend yourself from being skewered.

"Urgh!" Still, infusing your magic into your arms does not mean your arms can become indestructible. While you manage to make them harder than normal, that flurry of attacks still manages to wound your arms and rip your sleeves. Your blood stains the floor as you try to widen the distance between you and the girl.

"W-what?!" The girl is shocked to see that you manage to block her attacks with your arms.

You groan. You better treat the wounds on your arms, or else something bad may happen to you. Infection is a serious matter, after all. And there's also the thing about losing too much blood.

"H-hey, why are you attacking me?" You ask, still trying to ignore the pain on your arms.

"Shut up, you filthy scum! I won't forgive you for what you have done yesterday!" The girl shouts.

"Yesterday?" When the girl mentioned yesterday, you recall what Shirley had told you about what happened yesterday, about the terrorist attack. "Wait, you mean about the attack yesterday?"

"Of course! Don't play dumb with me, you villain! You will learn the consequences of all your actions that you had committed yesterday! You shall be felled by my Soul Gear, Twilight Hydrangea!" She brandishes her rapier, which is apparently her Soul Gear, a weapon that is specifically wielded by a Magic Knight. "Remember the name of your executioner, Elisabeth Clwyd, when you descend into the deepest pit of Hell!" Burst of energy can be seen flowing out of the blade of her rapier. "En garde, villain! Summon your Soul Gear if you still have honor within you!"

"I-I don't have a Soul Gear! I'm a new student!" You try reasoning with the girl, whose intention has been made clear. It is true that you still don't have a Soul Gear. You're supposed to meet the Principal in order to get yourself a Soul Gear, or at least summoning it from your soul.

The girl looks appalled when she learns that you don't have a Soul Gear. "You don't have a Soul Gear? What sort of Magic Knight are you? A stupid one?"

"A new one, precisely! But that's not the point! Whatever you think I may be, you are wrong!" You shout at the girl as you raise both your hands in surrender. You hope that with that gesture, the girl will lower her rapier and stop trying to kill you.

"DON'T UNDERESTIMATE ME, YOU DEPRAVED BASTARD!" Instead of lowering her rapier, she shouts and glares murderously at you.

"Huh?"

"You think you can put up that innocent act to make me drop my guard?! Hah! Think again!" She points her Soul Gear at you. "Now, prepare yourself, villain. Now that you have tried such a despicable, honorless tactic to fool me, your end shall be an ignoble one." Temperature around you drop again. "Your death shall be painful. I, Elisabeth Clwyd, will make sure that your demise be as pathetic as you are, you murderous fiend..."

You gulp. First day at school, you already get yourself involved in such a complicated situation. Not only that, you also have no Soul Gear with you, making you effectively helpless against her.

You grit your teeth and clench your fists. You are not about to be gutted like a fish you are not. The girl cannot be reasoned with, so any sort of diplomatic approach is useless. You can run, but the girl may chase after you and turn you into sashimi. You can stand your ground, but that will make you a perfect target for stabbing.

Still, you make your decision. You...

Here's the next update. There will be a dice roll. Have fun, boys and girls.

You've probably already noticed, but a quick note and apology. Earlier, when I talked about dice with you, I made a pretty huge mistake. Don't use 5d21-5 to work out normal probability. That has a very flat probability curve due to the number of dice. e.g 5d21 only has a 6.7% chance of rolling higher than 70.

For simplicity sake, a d100 or d20 works fine. Sorry for misleading you earlier.

Better to fight know or else we will have to deal with this idea of hers for a long time which could reduce our popularity even more.
