I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it, and I will endeavor to provide more post-haste.

Then the screaming started.

Everyone turned to looks awkwardly at Professor Ozpin.

Also, considering the way blood flies everywhere in BB, I assume that room (and the occupants) now has a crimson paint job.

No we just need Cadfan to not regenerate, and just lay there on the ground all like "well, this is awkward, would someone mind taking my body to an altar for me?"

Also, we need spoiling Grandmother Annalise for her youngest grandchildren.

Is it bad that i want him to train ruby?

Like, with the force of a thousand screaming eyes.
Can not wait for that tbh.

Kind of hoping for the blood magic's like Maria uses in the Nightmare. Ruby spin-to-win scythe-a-thon with blood and fire.

Heh.

As amusing that would be, that won't be necessary.

Also, we need spoiling Grandmother Annalise for her youngest grandchildren.
Oh, yes. That is going to be a thing.
I can't wait either.

I'll tell you this much. I have plans, and fun ones at that~

Oh my, yess. We do need this.
It'll be especially entertaining because Annalise isn't the best at interacting with people outside the context of Queen and subject.
This means you'll get treated to the sight of Socially Awkward Vampire Grandma, which isn't something I've ever seen before. Should be fun to write~

To be fair, the only thing i dont like about it is the whole vampire thing... its needlessly misleading IMO, just toss out something about the ancients having developed ways to fight grimm before Dust and stuff. Its way more acceptable to learn ancient non-dust based blood sorcery than it is to become a bloodsucking vampire and prey upon the innocent. I mean, i can see the reason for it in-story, but it feels like its going to cause alot more problems than it solves. They basically went 'well i dont want to tell them about us being monsters, so lets tell them im a vampire instead!'

I understand where you're coming from, ChaoticSky, though I believe you're misunderstanding some things.
become a bloodsucking vampire and prey upon the innocent.
What precisely Cadfan told them about Vilebloods will become more clear in the next chapter, and that should assuage your worries. That said, I'll detail the big one here: As Vilebloods don't have to subsist upon blood to survive, neither Cadfan nor Annalise will be "preying on the innocent", and this would be the first thing Cadfan assures them of.

As for why not just claim esoteric ancient techniques? Well, that's actually what the public story is going to be about Cadfan's powers, but since Summer already knew about the whole Vileblood thing, and Ruby is a dormant "Lady of Eyes" herself, Cadfan saw no point in concealing what Annalise was from them, and thought it convenient to simply pass himself off as a Vileblood of similar power and immortality.

Well, could be worse.. "oh yes, I, my Queen and Summer and her ancestors are vampires, like Ruby here as well. But Taiyang and Yang here are descendants of what are essentially werewolves. Why, back in the day we vampires hunted many a werewolf and now they are family, truly times are changing."

Oh, don't be silly. Clearly, Taiyang is the descendant of an ancient clan of golden dragons.
:V
The fact that Taiyang Xiao-Long translates to Greater Sun Dragon has nothing to do with what I plan for his Semblance to be what are you talking about?
;D

Caught up and I really like the tense atmosphere you have in this quest of great and power people against equally power eldritch forces.

Also side note looking forward to possible for Cadfan to become the best TA ever.

*blink* Thats even worse!

Theres two layers of deception here? Telling the family they are vampires (but totally not what you immediately think of when someone says vampire), and then telling everyone else that its a old art... when they could simply have told the family that it was a old art too and skip the small (but existent) chance that they let something slip and suddenly the public thinks they are vampires in need of burning? Also they are going to need one set of lies for the Roses and a separate set for everyone else, all of which are going to have to be reasonable from what they can observe about the abilities in question. And the fact that the second lie, about it being ancient techniques is actually closer to the truth, while calling them vampires is a bald faced lie. So the Roses are the ones being deceived the most... for no reason!

Thats just sloppy, Oz is supposed to be a old hand at this conspiracy stuff. You dont tell five different people five different lies to cover up the same secret. You tell one lie and you tell the same lie to everyone. Way less chance of the whole thing coming unravelled.

The issue with that is that "old arts" can't explain Annalise and Cadfan's immortality, and the fact that the Rose–Xiao-Long family is going to be interacting with Annalise and Cadfan extensively necessitates then have at least that knowledge, particularly if and when Summer and Ruby learn to use the abilities that lie dormant in their bloodlines. Further, Cadfan would be the chief one instructing them in the Vileblood Arcana, so knowing that he's a Vileblood is necessary (even if they don't know he's just a Vileblood)

As for the use of the term Vampire, it's tossed around by characters who aren't terribly familiar with what a Vileblood is, simply because it's an easy mental association to make. Cadfan never once refers to himself or Annalise as such.

Further, while the family is being deceived, it's a lie by omission. Nothing he told them is strictly untrue, he simply did not inform them about Great Ones and such, as that information isn't relevant to what they were discussing.
Cadfan is a Vileblood...he's just not only a Vileblood.

Finally, at this moment in-story, they haven't actually made any plans as to how they'll explain Cadfan's powers. Furthermore, I think that the Rose–Xiao-Long family have enough sense as to keep information like that to themselves, seeing as it could lead to a literal witch-hunt.
That said, the only reason Ozpin is willing it tell them anything is because Summer is inextricably entangled in this Vileblood business, and Ruby will be as well, sooner or later. Additionally, Ozpin acknowledges that the Vileblood stuff is something Cadfan knows significantly more about than he, and thus is allowing him to take the lead in deciding who knows what.

I hope this explanation helps!

I can already imagine Annalise acting like an overprotective grandmother:

Yang: Grandma, this is my Xfriend!
Annalise: Oh... * pulls out a bloodied Chikage and ghost knights close in* Is that so? What are your intentions towards Our granddaughter? filthy cur!
Anon: *Sweating bullets. Impending sense of getting ***ed over intensifies*

Ruby: ... Oh, and nobody has seen Cardin since last week. I wonder what happened.
Yang: Good riddance, if you ask me. Bulling you and telling people you payed your way in because you're so young.
Annalise: Indeed... this boy sounds as a horrible young man. Why, in Our time, we would bring them into the training ground and beat some sense of humility into them. Failing that, we threw them to the Crow to take care of.
Ruby: Uncle Qrow?
Annalise: No, no dear. You see...
- Meanwhile -
Cardin: OHGODOHGODOHGODOHGODOHGOD!!!
BloodyCrow: *Chasing and pwning a noob*

I like the cut of your jib, bucko!

Wait a minute, hold the fucking phone.

Summer, and thus Ruby, are direct descendants of Queen Annalise. Who lives in her invisible castle. Surrounded by knights. With strange powers.

Does that make Ruby a god damned fairy princess?!

Well, consider canon:
Yang is the daughter of a Bandit Queen, which technically makes her a princess.
Weiss is a corporate princess, but a Princess nonetheless (hell, she has the nickname and all, no matter how she insists that she is just an heiress, but we all know she sees normal people as peasants).
Blake is the daughter of the Chieftain/king of Menagerie.

The only one without any claims to the position was Ruby, but now she finally is one, rounding up on the most unusual bunch of quasi-Disney Princesses you've ever- wait...

Ruby is now practically a classical, lost Princess in a team full of Princesses! Do you know what this means?!

@Xanothous IS DISNEY!!! They were eying the RWBY fandom the entire time so they can purchase Rooster Teeth and make the main characters into Princesses in their Princess-assembly-line-of-movies!!!

I KNEW IT!!! I KNEW IT ALL ALONG!!! THEY ARE ALREADY TAKING OVER-*gets dragged away in a straight-jacket and thrown into a white van while continuing to rant and rave*
