Loyal to the End : A Traitor Progenitor Chapter Master Quest

[X] Plan: Glory Is Worthless
-[X]Flesh Within Flesh Without - The chapter values the training, upkeep and maintenance of their Emperor given Astartes flesh. The chapter Apothecaries are exceptionally skilled and the techmarines often follow the doctrine of the Mechanicus Genetors. (Bonus to healing injured Astartes, bonus to successful gene seed implantation and reduced neophyte death)
-[X]Iron Men - Part of the traditions to become a true member of the Chapter requires a marine to learn how to maintain, repair and, depending on personal talents; create new wargear.
-[X]Heraldry Be Damned - The chapter cares little for displaying their colors and heraldry to their enemies, being unbothered to repaint their armor in camouflage patterns if the situation demands it. (Bonus in some combat scenarios, small malus to reputation gain)
-
[X]Integrated Serfs - Chapter serfs are well trained and integrated into wider chapter operations. (Small bonus to overall chapter operations)
-[X]Rejection of the Witch - Chapter doesn't have a Librarius, relying on a non-psyker body to fulfill the chronicler aspect of the chapter body as laid out in the Codex Astartes. (Relationship Malus with the Adeptus Astra Telepathica, combat bonus against Psykers)
-[X]Deathwatch Penance - The Chapter has sworn an oath to pledge a certain fraction of their active battle brothers, thirty veterans, to the numbers of the Deathwatch (Bonus to Relationship with the Ordo Xenos)
-[X]Duty Overcomes Glory - As was learned and forced upon them during the Great Crusade, the Chapter continues to operate and send their Astartes to missions and battles where little glory is to be found, keeping to their duty, seeing little use in taking credit for their accomplishments and in seeing this as a just punishment for the harm their traitorous kin cause. (Malus to reputation gain, starts with lowered reputation with all factions)

These guys show up, get the job done and then leave without explaination.

So if Grudgebearer is part of the winning plan, who are people thinking of having a grudge against? The Imperial Fists easily come to mind

I believe I mentioned before the Ecclesiarchy, given their religious nonsense, and often opulent corruption. Look at every cathedral built at ridiculous costs in lives and resources, while the masses survive on pittances and corpse starch. There you will see what the Chapter loathes so much.

Also, Imperial Gothic sucks as an architectural style, we will lay down our lives on this points Brothers!

The imperial gothic style is pretty nice though, I have to say. But yeah, the Ecclesiarchy, I can easily see as grudgeworthy. Our chapter is turning out pretty dwarfy.

It would actually be really funny if we (as a second founding no less) 'Ultramaines Successor' actually had an axe to grind over various successors being too beholden to the Codex Astartes.

So basically we have great respect for Guilliman himself, but for the Ultramarine successors that follow the codex like it's the Bible, we become exasperated with them? I can see that.

I'm personally thinking Grav Cannon/Cataphractii pattern Terminator armour (duh) /Unthankful job

Grav does amazing work against armoured targets and fortifications, which just makes it amazing in a siege, the Cataphractii to transport said cannon. It's also the toughest terminator variant. Unthankful job because the Iron Warrior grind never ends. Also fits with our chapter culture.

Edit: Also, by it's nature, the Cataphractii must be an Iron Warrior relic from the Horus Heresy itself, snagged by one of our loyalist founders, which makes it 10x more awesome.

I'd like a Volkite weapon for the reasons of 1. no 40k quest has had Volkite weapons available for the questers (as far as I know) and 2. Volkites are cool.

Tartaros armour would be a good compromise between heavy armour and being able to move at a faster pace then a waddle.

EDIT: I think that most of us would agree that few things will be more bowl loosening then realising that instead of power walking towards you the terminator squad is actually running.

I say we go with Artificer Armor or Tartaros Pattern Terminator Armor both are good with durability with only a minor tradeoff of mobility for the Tartaros with a gain of heavy weapons. With our Fat +3 Ballistic Skill and Ranged Relic Weapon we can be a Great Mobile Cannon. But the Artificer Armor lets us use Bikes and Bikes are really cool.
