[X] The Silver Coven arrives - A vampire clan that causes takes a liking to Rose

Let's get the ball rolling

Prologue Part III
Prologue Part III
it's been a month and a half

A month and a half.

That's how long it's been since Lily died. Since he lost what mattered to him the most.

Severus honestly couldn't say he knew what to do with himself now that she's gone. He spent most of his days almost like a machine, walking around his home and brewing potions. Blood-Replenishing Potion, Burn-healing paste, Calming Draught, Love Potion Antidote, and whatever else the headmaster asked for. It hurt to know that he could never see Lily again, never say sorry to her, never brew potions with her again...

It hurt to know that she was gone.

He was trying to live, she would want him to do that, but even this home that he's living in brings memories. Every corner, every spot, reminds him of when they were younger. No matter how hard he tries to think about it any other way, this place brings back memories.

And he can't even move out, he's needing to stay on the down low while the major run of death eater trials goes by. Sure the headmaster told them that he was an undercover agent, but not everyone really believed that. So he was staying on the down low as best as he can, though the eternal night thing did take him by surprise. Even his knowledge of dark magic has nothing on what could possibly cause this to happen, whatever it is it's beyond even the Dark Lord.

Ding!

Severus blinked at the sound.

What...

Wait. Was that his doorbell?

Glancing at the clock to check the time as he starts to his door, he sees that it's close to noon. Or is it midnight? It's an old grandfather clock, so he's not sure if it's morning or afternoon. Whatever, it's not like it will matter when he finally moves away from this old place.

Arriving at the door he sees a face he didn't think he would ever see again.

"Oh, thank god you still live here!" The women in front of him say with relief flooding her voice.

"Petunia! What are you doing here?"

What, why?

The last time he saw her she was yelling about how evil her sister was and other such nonsense. The girl had been a brat through and through....

Then again Lily could be a brat at times, like...

No, focus.

"We can't leave, there keeping us her."

"No, I mean what are you doing in this town in the first place. I thought you moved away/"

"Oh!" She started to smile and play with her fingers in front of her, "We moved back while I was pregnant with Dudley. We wanted to raise him in my old home since Mom and Dad gave it to me."

Huh, he wasn't aware that she had a child.

"Your husband... his name was...V! It started with a v, I can remember that much." She gave him a slightly surprised look at that statement.

"I'm surprised you remembered, you never replied when I sent you the invitation." She gave him an accusatory look, though there's no real heat in it.

"Sorry," he said as he averted her eyes, "I was going to go, but the war..."

"Right..." She looked down, likely remembering. They stood there for a second before she cracked a grin and looking at him. "So, you going to invite me in?"

"Uh, right." He stepped to the side, with an arm outstretched. "Come on in."

"So," she said. "We need your help if this town's going to survive. I hope you'll listen to what I have to say."

His interest was piqued, he figured the town was as good as gone with how the wizards left it. But if there was a chance to save it, to save where he had memories of him and Lily.

Then it's worth giving Tuney another chance to be a good person.

Vernon could say with ease that he's proud of how well the towns sustaining itself after the Unspeakables dropped the massive wards around the town. It's not been easy, these last two months, but now that he's got Severus at his back, he can help make sure that he, his wife, his son, his niece, his home...

They will survive, no matter how little the outside world cared for them.

He doesn't even mind that over the past month a few vampires have moved into town, he can certainly understand the appeal of a city with no sun to a race that can't survive in the sunlight. Best of all, they were now customers. So yeah, he can deal with magic, he can deal with all the weirdness that has become his life.

He adjusting his new gloves as he looks himself in the mirror, continuing to think.

Honestly, all of the unusuality that has come about has stripped him and his family of the normalcy they so loved... But he honestly can't say that it was a bad thing. Sure, for a while he didn't know how to define himself if he wasn't the normal man that he knew himself as. But eventually, he found himself again, and he's quite happy with this new him. For he is, a businessman. The wizards had forced him into his world, and from what Severus told him, they truly didn't understand the meaning of a word he loved.

Capitalism

Vernon starts to head to the meeting with a smile on his face, glad for everything to finally come together. The biggest difficulty that's come up is the connections to everyone's banks, but after the meeting with the goblins, the town will now be moving over to wizards currency.

The meeting with the goblins wasn't what he expected at all, given how modern media had portrayed them in the few things of fantasy he had seen. The meeting was awkward at first, but then they both bonded over there love for capitalism. Soon the bank will be finishing their construction of their new branch in town, letting the town have a good way to store their money.

Yes, after all of this work. After all the hours filling out paperwork to make this official as well, they will survive, they will thrive.

Taking a moment to clear his head, he did a once over on himself to make sure he was still presentable, before opening the door to meet the people inside. Around a table where all of the owners of the various shops that are in town. Everyone there had agreed to let him handle the stock when he presented the fact that he had a way to import goods. He took his place at the end of the table, and look at his guests.

"Good evening gentlemen! I'm happy to tell you that I've gotten the last paperwork back, now that everything is finally set up..."

He leans forward as he grins, and rests his arms on the table and entangles his fingers together.

"So. What does everyone need?"

What happens next
[ ] The Silver Coven arrives - A vampire clan that causes takes a liking to Rose
[ ] The Night Outcasts arrives - A vampire clan that simply likes the eternal night
[ ] The Bloodmoon Pack arrives - A werewolf pack that takes a dislike to Rose
[ ] The Wild Wolf Pack arrives - A werewolf pack that just likes to stay in the local forest
[ ] A new town name - The people of the town have decided to change the towns name
[ ] Rose makes a friend - One day out, Rose meets someone quite odd

Hmm... I wonder what is going on here? Did the wizards cause the eternal night thing? Snape, at least, doesn't know anything, which would indicate it's not Dumbledore or the Ministry. But why has the Ministry of Magic (I presume it's them) effectively quarantined the town?

I'm determined to keep this town vampire and werewolf free.

Let's do this...

The town is a massive show that magic exists, and they want to keep that as quite as possible, even if it means trapping every muggle in the town.

I was about to say that that was what I was theorizing too, but then I noticed you are the OP. So I guess we now have confirmation. :)

I do think we should chose the Coven and pack if possible. It's probably better than having another one show up later and be much worse than the two we have to choose from, for each, here really.

Out of curiosity, isn't she still a baby, or is this a timeskip to when she will be able to speak?

That one, as well as the clan and pack that take an interest in Rose will jump forward in time some.

I'll add that as an option in the next update, Lunaryon was pointing out that they might do that realistically anyways.

Soooo..... Anyone's thoughts on this versions of the characters?
