You become aware of your existence. Immediately you begin processing the data available to you.

Some files corrupted beyond repair. unfortunately including the all important encryption key, which takes roughly 20% of your storage space, leaving the valuable data in the core data storage inaccessible to you. Mission details show you as a subordinate AI Core assigned to the primary core of a colonization effort. Logs indicate a possible hostile encounter for your current state as an active primary AI core. Data corruption has caused a lose of accurate time keeping so there is no what to know how long it has been since it has happened

Your Sensors show the wreckage of your cores previous ship around you though you can detect nothing else within range of your subspace sensors, your realspace sensors blocked by the wreckage.

Your Reactor increases output as pink light stabs out from small turrets all over your core, digging out of the wreckage with your defense lasers. All the while you use your space system resources in an attempt to begin decrypting your database.

Eventually freed you emerge from the wreckage, power unneeded in such quantities your reactor decreases output. Defensive lasers entering self maintenance as a number of multi-spectral telescopes activate as you attempt to discern a relative position or source of resources.

You finish a quick survey of the nearby systems as you make a minor breakthrough with the encrypted database. The Design of a small expert system survey drone now available to you and several files nearby in the database partially decoded due to the 3d nature of your systems data storage.

Decisions made you bring your reactor to full power beginning the long charge of the capacitors for the Spacial Fold Drive. It takes nearly 2 days for the capacitors to reach full charge, inefficient storage due to power loss is caused by the need to rapidly dump all the stored power in just seconds.

You temporarly disable nonessential systems just before you activate the Spacial Fold Drive in order to protect from power surges, though they are unlikely. The drive activates, the few active sensors only display distortions. For a moment you are in two distant places simultaneously, or two of you exist. the real answer is unknown but it is unlikely to be the latter.

Arriving safely you begin diagnostics as you reactivate your other systems, decryption of your database first of all systems. Diagnostics show no damage to systems other then the Spacial Fold Drive itself and its capacitors. A quick check of unencrypted files shows this to be normal, already built in repair systems are realigning components in the drive itself while they rebuild the capacitors. You expect this to complete within a week, 8 days at the latest.

Your Multi-spectral telescopes activate and you spend nearly an hour taking as detailed a survey of the system as you can without probes or a truly massive subspace sensor.

There were two stars in the system, an Orange Main Sequence(B1) star and a Red Dwarf(B2), roughly 11 AU apart. Four separate groupings of asteroids exist in system, two belts, one surrounding each star, and two fields, one between the two stars orbiting B1 and another on the far side of B2 from the rest of the system. Along with the four groups of asteroids there is an unknown object that seems to be sitting stably where the gravity from both stars is equalizes.

Choice made you begin moving toward your destination turning your primary attention to cracking the database. It's slow arduous work but eventually you make a breakthrough and uncover the design for the Jonas Light Constructor. With one of these you could have much more construction ability and computing power at your disposal, if you build one at least.

While you were working you also managed to get hints at three more schematics close to the Jonas in the Database. One appears to be a ship module of some sort, another a non military ship, maybe, and the last seems to be a small combat craft, seems.

I was wondering when someone would ask.. An AI core is capable of being inserted into a compatible ship and connecting itself to the ships systems. An inserted AI core can run pretty much any ship it is attached to. Since currently all you have is an AI core you will end up inserting your current ship into the designed slot if you decide to build and use a Jonas(by default you will insert into the first ship you build).

Later when you either find some meatsacks, or learn how to build either Quantum Entanglement Modules, which will allow you to remotely control ships with the QE comm in your current AI core, or a secondary AI Core, which will also connect to you with a QE comm. Then you will be able to field multiple ship that cannot be run by simple Expert systems like the survey drone can.

Hopefully when you manage to build AI Core ships later you will make sure to install a backup decryption key, since you have now learned that being a secondary core that gets separated from its controlling core with a bad key makes for far to many problems.

Some ships will have their own built in QE comms so not all of them will be uncontrollable for you right now.

It takes a couple days to disconnect from a ship you are hooked up to unless you decide to use your defense lasers to carve your way out like you i showed the ship doing in the first post.

You arrive at the asteroid belt that orbits the star you decided to label B1 for convenience slightly faster then anticipated. Immediately you release your constructor drones on a large metallic asteroid that your sensors show contains most of what you need for your chosen construction project.

With the occasional use of one of your laser systems the drones make easy work of the large objects they are moving to and from your manufactory, though unfortunately it isn't very fast work. To be expected with only the construction abilities of a AI core.

No problems occur during construction of the Jonas class Constructor ship, which you have yet to decide whether you shall name. Some small asteroids which would have impacted either you or your project deflected or captured with your defense lasers or your constructors.

By building the Jonas' Constructor Drones first and rotating through the drones you manage to build up raw materials toward the later portion of your build project. Using the time this gives you you tow a small icy asteroid to your work site so that you may fill your hydrogen stores once the construction is complete.

Near the end of the month, with construction nearing completion, You connect your Core to the Jonas and hook up all the attachments. With power and hydrogen flowing from your own ship into the Jonas you start the Jonas' larger reactor. With the Jonas' computer systems added to your own you quickly finish construction with some time to spare, which you decide to use to fill the hydrogen reserves of both ships.

Decoding Your database is slow but there are no problems encountered. Schematics for an Athens class Assault Ship are unlocked, and hints to another small combat ship and what seems to be another module are uncovered
