So I was rereading a section and saw this which I thought was topical so I'm going to leave it here.
Hm. Probably an oversight, since Hiver has stated before that Atregos wasn't going to show up anywhere that he recognized. But then, he doesn't seem to be recognizing Minas Tirith, either the city or the name. Of course, is has been quite a while and he has had a lot to do and think about, so he might simply have forgot.

And I'm really looking forward to see the reaction of the cannon Lord of the Rings characters. Space :)
I'm sure three Nazgul flying in to the top of the city, battling a couple of dragons there and loosing badly might, just might mind you, have caught a little bit of attention. Oh, and someone is probably wanting to talk with Gandalf about how the ####!!! he managed to make that happen?

...of course, Gandalf will probably just puff his pipe and answer with a smile that Peregin Took hired those dragons, but still! *grins*

well, there is a small problem of 2 Nazgul running around inside the city. Granted one is on fire and the one just pulled a 'Wiley Coyote off a cliff' routine, so neither is in great shape...

Aragon, Gimli and Legolas are gonna show up with their ghost army to help and will be going "Where'd Gandalf get the dragons from?" :???:
Heh the Oliphants would probably make a filling meal for Atregos and Ren, plenty of meat there.:lol

Peregrin Took was the only son and heir of Paladin Took II, the Thain of the Shire. Is this the hobbit we're talking about? Because if so, that's some solid and significant assistance the hobbits sent the Capital of Gondor, Minas Tirith, the White City, greatest fortress and possibly last stronghold of the humans in their time of need!

...or at least, so it might seem?

We rested on our wings, circling above the field of battle. I glanced at Ren, she seemed okay. Whatever that thing to did to her, it might be fading.

Hopefully.

When we got home, I'd ask Alexstrasza to take a look at her.

Slowly beating my wings, I looked down towards the giant elephant-mammoth things below. On their backs were massive saddle forts that held men with bows.

These things were… big.

Very big.

As in, at least as large as Kalecgos.

How the hell do we kill something like that? Of course, with our armours on, the men with bows on their backs were a non-factor. But still, those things were fucking massive.

I suppose a giant growth spell could work, but those took quite a bit of mana and didn't last long, I could maybe take down two like that.

There were six of the beasts.

But did we really need to kill them?

"Ren, those guys sitting on their heads. They are holding ropes, they are the riders. Take them out!"

She nodded and went for a dive.

Half folding my wings, I went the other way for one of the other ones. Arrows pinged off my armour from the guys sitting in the massive saddle.

Amazing.

Finally, something my armour protected us against. I was starting to wonder why I even bothered.

Strafing the riders with a blast of frost breath, I rose above the saddle fortress before dipping back down, snagging the driver in my claws and tearing him in two before banking to the right.

The massive animal trumpeted and veered to the right, stampeding towards the next animal in the row.

They crashed together with bone cracking force, falling over and hitting the ground hard.

Awesome, two for one!

Now for summon… having one of these would be awesome! Especially if I could armour it up!

Ripping the rider off the next one, I carefully avoided the reins this time before throwing myself onto its side, digging my claws into the thick skin, ripping at the thick ropes holding the saddle fort on its back.

A massive ripping sound and the fort came toppling off its back, sliding down the other side to the sound of screaming.

Clambering back onto the back of the massive animal, I pulled back the armour on my paws as I hung onto the animal and it started to panic, flooding my magic into it.

And more magic.

And more.

…Holy hell, this thing took a lot. Running out of White, I used green and then blue. Finally, I felt the little seed of a summon spell form in the back of my mind.

Biggest summon yet. Clambering over the animal's back, I jumped with a beat of my wings to land on the side of its head, digging my claws into the thing's ear just like its reins did.

It trumpeted and turned hard to the right.

Good enough.

Throwing myself off it, I rolled and beat my wings hard, pulling up before I hit the ground. Glancing over as I rose higher, I saw that Rengosa has already finished two of her animals and was heading for the third.

And what in the actual fuck is that!?

A… wave of green ghosts was flooding towards the city.

How the fuck does you fight an army of ghosts?

Rising harder, I beat my wings as I looked at the ghosts. What were they… they flowed and beat Rengosa to the last beast, flooding over it and bringing it down.

She pulled up and banked away, heading back towards me.

Where they attacking anything or… nope, they avoided the horse riders and went for the Orcs.

Were both sides necromancers here?

Climbing higher, I beat my wings harder and moved to circle with Rengosa far above the battlefield. "Get one?"

"Got one," she confirmed and glared down at the battle below. "Undead."

"Undead," I agreed and growled. "Let's return to the city, leave them to their war. We evened the odds and fucked with their enemy. They can handle the rest on their own."

With that, we banked back towards the city.

AN// Many thanks to Grey Rook for betaing this part. Early post because of early morning tomorrow.

So is a Ring Wraith still pinned via lightning to the face? Also, he now has some soul severing blades to check out! Nothing like fancy artifacts to inspect. Maybe a Pallantir as well and the One Ring? He should also get patterns of the Fellowship, nothing like having Gandalf, Legolas, Gimli, and Aragorn at your side everywhere you go.

I'm curious he hasn't figured out how to take multiple patterns of the same creature so he can have 2/3/4 bears or trolls out. Currently though, he is rocking the legendary squad, though I'm curious if the Blood Elf Paladin he grabbed is unique enough to count as a legendary, though I would guess no.

@Zenbeast Fortunately, Hiver does not write this story in MAXIMUM POWERLEVEL MUNCHKIN mode. Also, I rather doubt that the Fellowship would consent to being copied, especially by an alien dragon that they know nothing about.

And the Ring Wraith will presumably stay right where it is, being subjected to electroshock torture, until Gandalf gets around to doing something about it.

"Hm. Unfortunate."

"You can't mean you pity that monster, can you, Gandalf?"

"He was once a man, and man's folly being great in magnitude makes it no less pitiable. ... But mostly I meant nobody is going to be able to get any work done here with that wailing."

Coming in for landing at the top of the city, I glanced at the still silently flailing and twitching wraith, still pinned to the stone with my discarded and changed weapon.

Not on fire anymore. Let's fix that.

A quick fireball and he was burning again. He might actually be right about being immortal.

Sucks to be him.

Should have thought of that before he hurt Rengosa.

Retracting my armour, I then turned into mortal form and rubbed the back of my neck, "Ugh."

Ren retracted her armour as well and nuzzled at my shoulder, "Ready to leave?"

"Soon," I agreed and scratched just behind her nosehorn, "Need to wait for my mana to regenerate."

"That's a dragon."

Turning looking over, I saw the hobbit… what was his name, Took? Yes, Peregrin Took.

"Very observant," I chuckled.

He looked between us and the silent wraith, "What happened? What… who are you?"

I glanced at the wraith, "He pissed me off."

"T-that's the witch king!"

I raised my eyebrows at that, "He's the big badass that have you guys trembling in your boots? Really?"

He shook his head, "No. He's a servant of Sauron."

"Sauron? He's the big dark lord of yours?" Rengosa asked and the hobbit almost fell over.

Took looked at her with wide eyes as he got back up, nodding, "Yes, the dark lord of Mordor. Can you help us?"

I shared a look with Ren before I shook my head, "No. We helped save the city, you are on your own."

"Please! Just until Fordo get the ring to the mountain!"

Ring? Get the ring to the mountain? How would that end a war? Hmm.

"Mountain? What mountain?"

He pointed behind us and I turned to look at the glow in the distance, "The volcano?"

"Yes! Mordor."

I glanced at Ren.

She sighed and then nodded.

Turning, I ran and dove off the cliff, turning back into my real form on the way, spreading my wings. Ren following me a second later.

Let's see what's this entire ring thing is about. This world suddenly turned interesting.

XXXXXXXXXXXX

Resting on my wings, as we flew towards the volcano into the distance. This could be dangerous, whoever this Sauron was, he was clearly powerful and very dangerous.

I suspect he was the one that fucked with my shield. He did that from quite far away.

That was more than I could do.

But there have to be a reason that's why he didn't just blow up that city, but maybe it was different on his home ground.

"…Maybe this isn't a good idea. We should just Walk," I said and drifted close to Rengosa.

"If we do, you'll never be able to let it go," She laughed and shook her head, "No, we are going to see if we can find this thing."

I growled and sighed, "How's your side?"

"Better. Aches a bit, but I'll be fine."

She shouldn't ache at all. A soulstone literally reset your body to how you were when you created it. The only reason that the ache continued at all was because that cut hurt her core, her soul.

That witch king would hurt for that. Was hurting for it.

Deserved every moment of it.

Maybe I could even extend it to it's master. Unlikely, but maybe we are lucky. Now, to find this ring thing.

"Now the question is how to find this thing. A hobbit and a ring in a desolate landscape can't be easy to find," I commented and beat my wings, "Ideas?"

She thought for a second, "Maybe magic sight? If that ring is so dangerous that bringing it to the volcano could end the war, it should be very magical. It should stand out like a bonfire in the night."

As good of an idea as any.

AN// Unbetaed because in a hurry and early morning tomorrow.

Main characters flinging around high magic like it no big thing and near big bads curbstomped like yesterday's refuse..... Sure sign that the feces is about to hit the air rotary device.

Man Gandalf is going to be so confused when he sees the Witch king stuck like a bug to the floor, wonder how long it will take him to realize the loop hole in the Witch kings immortality and go fetch a girl to shank the wraith.

Nah, they set him up like one of those undying flames, just make sure it's constantly on fire and no one's stupid enough to pull the sword out.

One girl with a bow and enough arrows. And set up lots of mirrors so the sun hits it from multiple directions. Then pour on more oil.

There's also the fact that Gandalf probably needs to hand in his mage card if he can't handle the Witch King while it's crippled, stuck, silenced, heavilly distracted and on fire - while Gandalf has as much time as he wants to prepare against a foe that can't hide, can't run, can't rest, and can't fight back.

Funny but only a valid idea if you're Alexstrasza, Nozdormu or Deathwing.

And even then, Thorondor the King of the Giant Eagles has a better then average chance of eating them, before they can eat him.

Gwaihir has a what 12-15 meter wingspan, Thorondor has a 55 meter one.

Alex is big but she's not a 55 meter wingspan.

Why eating eagles, get mana impressions of them!

*Ahem, edit: Why would Atregos eat eagles (minor maiar in their own right) when he should be trying to get mana impressions of them instead? But what would they be, white, red, green, blue, gold?
