No it doesn't. Green is totally cool with the idea of winning by making others lose, but it's also totally cool with, say, herbivores. Green doesn't judge either way. It's black that thinks herbivores are doing it wrong.
correct, but you've been arguing that putting them in a Deathmatch makes them partially Black. My point was that it's just a more violent aspect of Green. You don't need to bring Black into the equation.

"Yeah, we should leave," I said as soon as the door closed behind us of our quarters and I had brought the sound blocking barrier up.

"No kidding," Sheila answered as she moved past me to start packing our bags, "The Empress is nuts."

Ren nodded in agreement and moved to get changed out of her dress and into her armour, "She's dangerous. Do we Walk from here?"

I thought about it for a second before I shook my head, "She's done this longer than me. I don't want to risk her being able to track us through the Blind Eternities, I'm not sure it's even possible, I have to check with Ajani next time I see him, but I don't want to risk it. Let's leave the city before we go."

We gathered everything we had and got it packed away in our bags. It didn't take long, not like we really had unpacked.

Heading out of our room, we moved towards the exit of the castle, moving towards the rest of the city.

I smiled at Sheila as we walked past a set of guards, "I wonder what the market is like here. Hope we will be able to find something interesting."

She instantly got what I was doing and nodded, "Personally, I hope for a pair of new shoes, mine are getting a bit old."

"I'm sure we will be able to find something."

We left the castle and headed into town across one of the wooden bridges between the massive branches before we took a right and headed out away from the trunk.

Plenty of elves around. There was a lot of pointing and whispering going on. I ignored them and I glanced at Sheila and Ren as we got towards the platform furthest out on the branch.

She nodded and I handed her my bag before I changed back to my real form, Ren following a second after. Sheila quickly climbed into my saddle and strapped in place before I spread my wings and took off from the platform, turning it into a steep dive towards the edge of the forest.

I really, really wanted to get out from beneath the tree that ate massive dragon eating lizards before somebody noticed we were leaving.

Pulling up from the dive, we flew out over the forest, clearing the edge of the canopy of the massive tree.

That's when everything went wrong. A massive swarm of birds erupted from the trees below, swarming us.

Sheila screamed and ducked down against my armour.

Shit, shit, shit!

Letting lose with my breath, the beam of cold cutting a swat from the murder of black birds but it was nowhere near enough. Can't stay here!

Rengosa was way ahead of me, breathing frost she dove down, ducking beneath the forest ceiling and going down for landing.

I quickly followed, flaring my wings and beating them hard to slow down as I settled down.

Sheila was cursing up a storm as she unstrapped and scrambled out of my saddle before she cast some kind of dark and uncomfortable looking spell into the swarm before it exploded and it rained birds.

"What was that?" Ren asked as she looked around.

"I don't know," I answered, "Some kind of… either a summon or a spell. Either way, no way we have not been spotted."

"Indeed, you have," Sakila confirmed as she walked out from behind one of the thick trees, her two massive wolves flanking her, "I'm afraid I can't allow you to just leave. You're a threat to my pack, you could bring others back here. It's my responsibility to stop that from happening. "

I shook my head and shifted a bit to face her and her pets, "Look, we're not looking to hurt you or yours. We're simply leave you can trust me when I say that we have no intention of ever returning to your little corner of reality."

"I wish I could believe that. But you know where we are and what's more, you can bring non-planeswalkers with you. I can't let you do that."

With that, she spread her arms, her eyes lighting up a bright green.

Sheila didn't wait either, shooting a green ball of flame towards them. Sakila waved her hand and a massive root shot up through the ground to block it.

Her wolves charged and started to grow.

Shit!

Deploying my armour, I pounced on the closest of the wolves while Rengosa did the exact same thing.

Ripping and biting, I clawed up the side of the twisting animal before clamping down on it's throat, ripping and biting as the blood flowed.

The massive wolf snarled and whimper as it went down and I went rolling off it.

I managed to struggle back onto my feet just in time to see a large plant monster burst through Sheila's barrier of flame.

Wines latched out, wrapping around her and she struggled, burning the first couple before they tightened and ripped her in two.

I was faintly aware that I screamed as she reformed in fire and smoke right next to me. Gasping, she put her hand against my side for support.

She let out a curse and I glanced at her quickly,

"Get out of here."

"We can't, we have to Walk!"

"I can't without your soulstone!"

It would take too long. Ren's wolf went down with a massive crash, bleeding out on the forest floor.

"Ren! Get Sheila out of here. I'll keep her back!"

You know, this'd be a perfect opportunity for Atregos to start laughing and pull the intimidation card.

''You're laughing; why?''

''You think I'm a human that can turn into a dragon. How quaint.''

Dragons, IIRC, are pretty feared in MtG.

Wait why was he worried about her following him at all? Earlier he learned that because of his huge dragon lung capacity he can walk much farther than other human sized planeswalkers... If she even could follow his trail she might die in transit instead of catching him...

He was worried that leaving from inside her center of power (where she's had loads of time to set things up), she might be able to track Atregos. Even if she can't goes as far in one jump, depending on just how experienced/powerful she is, she may be able to make multiple jumps easier/with less recovery time than Atregos. Plus the whole problem that they are either jumping blind (and may lead Nutso the Elf to innocent bystanders) or leading her someplace they've been before (either someplace they frequent or one of the unpleasant worlds they've visited recently).

Ren quickly flew over, breathing frost on the plant creature on the way and hitting it with a frost nova to slow it down before she landed next to me, "I'll get her safe."

"No! You need us here!"

Ren looked between me and Sheila.

"Get her out, her soulstone is spent," I said and then I channelled my mana, summoning Witcher, Paladin, Frosttroll and Rogue.

Against Sheila's protests, Ren grabbed her and took to the air. Meanwhile Rogue burst into action, digging into the storage at the side of my armour, pulling out weapons for everyone.

Not as good as my Weapons, but better than what they had as standard. Enchanted adamantium weapons.

Even the troll got a spiked club the size of a small tree.

Then time was up, and the plant monster was upon us. Taking to the air, I threw myself to the side, circling and blasting the thing with frost before following it up with a fireball.

Neither was having a massive effect on it.

Damn it, I need more ranged options! Chandra would have burned that thing to a crisp with a wave of her hand!

The summons however was having a bigger luck as they teamed up to take the elemental being down.

But then I didn't have time to pay much more attention to them as another massive wolf jumped for me, jaws clamping down on my armoured wing.

Ah!!

Twisting, I clawed at it's eyes and throat, breathing frost at it as I shifted my armor slightly, turning my wing razor sharp.

The wolf went down screaming and bleeding, but brought me down with it. I hit the ground hard, knocking the breath out of my lungs even through the armour.

Quickly pulling away from the trashing summon, I shook my head and located Sakila, she were doing some other kind of green magic witchcraft.

A root of razor sharp wood lashed out from one of the trees. It knocked me to the side, scraping against my amour but didn't penetrate.

Still hurt.

Have to do this fast.

Snarling, I rolled back onto my paws and threw myself towards her. She waved her hand and it glowed green and brambles with thorns the size of swords grew between us.

That's when things went strange.

My armour just kind of turned into flower petals.

I was too shocked to do anything, pulling up to avoid the thorns. What in the aAHHH!

A massive large plant elemental jumped me from behind from the trees, slamming into my back and down into the brambles.

Everything was pain as something wrapped around my neck and there was a almighty crack of a sound and then nothing.

I floated in nothing.

Soulstone.

I was in my soulstone.

Had to get out of here and get away from the crazy elf bitch. Shit!

She killed me!

Reforming from fire and smoke was just as unpleasant as I remembered it being, like being burned alive in reverse for a second.

Gasping, I feel to my knees.

Thirty meters away, the plant elemental looked around, surprised that the dragon it had been ripping apart had disappeared.

Holding my hand out, I summoned one of my reserve weapons from my bag before I covered the area with thick mist and sent illusions of myself in every direction.

One of the reason we always made the soulstones in mortal form. If we got killed in our real form, it's because something had gone horribly, horribly wrong and this form was way easier to hide in.

Fine.

Won't be able to fight the bitch, she was stronger than me and clearly better. Had to get away from here. Shit.

Summons still alive?

Summons still alive. I sent them a mental command to ignore the summons and to focus on Sakila.

That'll keep her distracted. I sure hoped a frost troll with a adamantium club going for her would distract her.

If not, I'm so fucked.

Putting a bubble of silence around me to muffle my footsteps, I wove a skyrim style invisibility spell and broke into a run through the mist into the forest.

Ducking behind a tree, I peered back through the mist. I needed to know where things were clear.

Weaving a quick scrying spell, I sent it up into the air to get a peek around. Where was she? The pair of tree elementals were wandering about, seeming to be searching.

My summons were down.

No sign of Sakila herself.

A snarl from the right caused me to cancel the spell and throw myself to the side, just in time to avoid the jaws of a massive wolf.

Whipping my glaive towards it's throat as it flashed past, it went down hard as the horribly sharp blade split it from throat to rear quarters, slitting bone and flesh.

Shit! Had to get away from here before.

Something hit me hard from the side and everything went black. Last thing I remembered was the mist turning into ice.

While I doubt the story will just end like this (since that would be far to edgy for a hiver fic), I'm wondering how he will escape?

And he just got his first taste of artifact destruction spells. If he does make it home, this might lead to him templating things like his armor/etc as artifact spells.

Him always getting captured starts to get boring and quite frankly tiring. I know its a sort of way to make him not OP but its starting to feel like he just lacks the oomf no matter how much he advances. It's just tiring, you see his beginning and you understand why he's weak, and yeah he was a young dragon with no ability to coordinate himself, and then he gets better, and keeps on loosing, The other story the one with ponies makes more sense. Blank page was weak in the real world but had strength in dream world, Atregos just...... ugh......

Eh, MtG may as well be called "there's always a bigger fish: the game" - you win some you lose some. We just saw him completely stomp Middle Earth, afterall.

Remember that while dragons are big and scary to most, they're a minor hassle to someone with access to staple MtG spells. Atregos normally has 2 major advantages: 1) being a dragon, 2) access to high level enchanted gear. But for the first time, he's encountered an opponent with what are probably some variant of Naturalize and Giant Growth, so neither his gear nor his being a dragon really impacted the result of the fight. He really isn't a fighter at the end of the day; he's an explorer and researcher. Him losing to a planeswalker so obsessed with combat skill that she rules an empire that holds deathmatchs for entry into adulthood just maintains the reality of the setting.

I was gonna write more but I decided to stop. I have decided to continue my point to answer.

He should not bring his mates on the explorations. I know to some its romantic but he should instead bring more dragons that have the experience and power and wisdom to help out, he should have more summons to throw out and escape. The problem once again comes back to not knowing and pushing more planeswalker powers, the stuff like how to summon was nit his great idea it was red dragon queen's. I have no idea about MTG cause I dont play it. But he was part of a dragin flight of magic.... FRICKIN MAGIC! I WOULD HAVE REASERCHED AND EXPERIMENTED THE HECK OUT OF MY MUMBO JUMBO. OH I HAVE WEIRD BUT POWERFUL MAGIC HUH BEING THE MAIN RESEARCHER AND TEACHER OF SUCH MAGIC MAKES ME HAVE TO FOCUS ON THAT AS MY SPECIAL SKILL I COULD CONTRIBUTE TO MY FLIGHT GREATLY... BUT NOPE ITS ALL FLYING carpets and boats..... Whut was the thought. Process oh right he has amnesia and he keeps on getting distracted by stuff so he gets less time on plane powers. He should have been like yes land grabs when he figured out how to. He should have been more like yes more minions as soon as he figured out how to. He should have used the opportunity to maybe hire adventurers and get the template and mire stuff like that... But no its all quirky fun stuff..

That's the thing, Atregos is basically doing what any planeswalker is doing in the Mtg setting, focusing on his personal specialization. In the end, planewalking as a skill just means you have wider access to potential inspiration/knowledge as well as being able to essentially cheat your way into learning them. Ever since the beginning, Atregos has been going down a path of the crafter/artificer. They're always gonna be more on the squishy side since they're more a support role anyways. Doesn't help that green is basically the worst possible matchup for an artifact centric blue planeswalker, with a variety of stuff that can ruin their day. Lack of access/knowledge to/of counter spells also hurts Atregos' chances.

In addition, as far as I can recall, this is the first time Atregos has/is facing an actively hostile planeswalker. More likely than not this will be a wake up call for him to build up either his personal combat skills or his summons variety.

Darkness. Silence.

I just kind of felt numb. Where was I?

Thoughts kind of drifted back and forth randomly. There was something important I needed to do, but I couldn't remember what.

"…im up. We can't do…"

I think I just figured out why Alexstrasza was so nice to me. I remind her so strongly of her brother.

"…regos… ear…"

Someone wanted something. Were they talking to me?

Did I taste mint? Or was that purble?

"Atregos!"

Rengosa. My lovely sapphire dragon. She sounded far away. To bad, I liked it better when she was close.

"…o use. He can't he…"

Something shifted around me. Was I moving? I felt… wind.

I think it was wind. Air was moving. Air moving across a curved surface provide lift.

Sheila has nice curves. She should be able to fly.

Where was Sheila? I like Sheila.

Things shifted again. Was I falling?

Things suddenly stopped moving quickly and for a split second, I didn't feel quite so numb. I quickly regretted that fact.

Yes, yes, I had been falling.

Ow.

Someone touched my cheek and I forced my eye open. There was Sheila, the sun shining through her blonde hair.

She was an angel.

She was saying something I couldn't quite understand. She looked worried though. I don't like it when Sheila is worried.

I should do something about that.

"Atregos, can you hear me?" she said and stroked my cheek, "Please, you have to wake up. You have to get us out of here. You're hurt badly. Please, you have to focus."

Hurt. I didn't hurt at all.

That's strange.

I likely should. There was a fight, wasn't it? Was there? I couldn't quite remember.

Sheila frowned, the image shifting some and suddenly she was a bit to the left, Rengosa kneeling at my other side, "Atregos, can you understand me?" Sheila askes quietly. It was darker than before.

Had time passed? That's odd.

Time shouldn't pass that quickly.

She shook her head, "I don't think he can. There is too much pain potion in him."

Rengosa frowned, "He can handle it, he's strong," before she leaned in and put her forehead against mine, "Atregos, I need you to Walk us. Take us somewhere friendly, there have to be somewhere in range of here. It's important, we are in danger."

That's not good at all.

If Rengosa was in danger it meant Sheila was too. I didn't like it when my Consorts were in danger.

Zrazta wasn't here.

I missed Zrazta.

Rengosa nuzzled, "Atregos, we need to go. Skyrim, Caldeum, Ravnica… anywhere we can find friends. You can do it. I know you can."

Rengosa wanted to go somewhere. Wanted me to Walk them there. Where are we? I could see trees.

Oh yeah, we're at a place with trees. The elves that helped me. I like them. That's must be where we are.

Ravnica was closest.

…Ravni…" I mumbled, "Clos."

"Yes! Ravnica!" Sheila quickly take, "Can you get us there?"

They wanted to go to Ravnica. I could do that.

Letting my eye drift close, I started to channel my magic.

Everything after that just kind of turned into even more of a blur.

Remember kiddies, don't drink and dri get in a fight with an experienced cross-reality magic user on their own turf, die, be resurrected, get a concussion, be dosed with multiple potions, and Walk.

This has been a PSA from the Azure Consortium.

I don't know where they are going to end up, but it won't be Ravinca, since He's gotten confuse on where they currently are.

Following a set of directions that takes you from Boston to New York doesn't work so well when you are departing from Portland.
