Well, I haven't even bought the game, and it's still providing a lot of entertainment. I need more popcorn.

Comedy of the year 10/10 -IGN

Ooh! OOH! Can I join in?

"You...ever get the feeling something is off in this world?"

"The feeling that underneath the surface of everything..."

"...there lies a slew of issues undermining its very structure?"

"Well, if there are any, I'm certainly not seeing them."

...Well, I'm having fun, at least.

Question, has anyone tried to go after the Nostradamus Enigmas yet? If so, is there anything you need to do other that using Eagle Vision to find them, because I've found both of the Theater ones, but the game is not registering it.

Mercurius has three symbols total, the one you find just outside the armour room which starts the memory, and then the two solutions to the riddles. If you find all those you should get the completion pop-up like with other missions.

I've been enjoying it too. The game is like no joke gorgeous. A lot of games with 'high end' graphics (ie. those aiming towards the mythical world of photorealism) tend just sort of 'look good' but some of the environments I've encountered are just beautiful. Like walking down the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, or walking into the Sainte-Chapelle, or walking down the street during the Belle Epoque, was an experience. There's an at times dream-like or painting-like quality to the things you see, which combined with the high level of fine detail and just absurdly long draw distance, makes the game something of a triumph of art design. The animations are just really impressive as well. I love watching Arno move, and man that kiss is a milestone for video gaming.

It is definitely an Assassin's Creed game. I think it's a pretty impressive development on that formula: the combat, stealth, traversal, the assassinations, the eagle sense and so on are familiar but much more 'developed' I guess you'd say. If you're not into that formula I don't think it offers much, but if you've enjoyed it in the past it's quite fun. There's a pretty huge amount of content and a lot of it is available really early on. I think I spent like fifteen minutes just wandering around Arno's house, checking things out. I particularly enjoyed the murder mystery thing I got involved in. It wasn't exactly LA Noire, but it was a nice change of pace.

I haven't encountered any particularly buggy moments, certainly nothing like that demonstrated above. I'm reminded a little about AssCreed 3, which also looked really good at the time, moved the formula forward in a number of ways and had a truly staggering amount of content and was quite buggy itself. Something something history something something cycles.

Also this is somewhat weird but it's kind of nice have Shaun 'back' for the historical database, following the fairly pedestrian database in Black Flag. I mean obviously he isn't a real person and so didn't actually write the entries or anything, I've always liked reading his sassy views on people and events for some reason. I like that they chucked a rant about Les Mis into the database just for kicks.

Ubisoft should ditch the metaplot of the Assassin's Creed series altogether and just make a game about an incredibly well-dressed parkour enthusiast who has a good deal of business acumen and a penchant for stabbing people. Set it in the Belle Époque and I'm in.

Okay, so I just finished the game, so here's some thoughts on the last mission...
Storming the fortress right out is a good way to get dead, especially with the stealth snipers the game likes to throw at you. (One minute I'm fighting, the next I'm in a death pose, with no reason to be whatsoever. Thusly: Stealth snipers.)

The good way to do so, is to methodically reduce the number of guards there, so when the inevitable happens and you have to chase Germain to the real final battle, you can do so with peace of mind...

...unless you do something stupid and die, then the fraking guards respawn.

Germain + Sword of Eden...really? He was a twit before, and now you've given him a lightning sword? That zaps you until you die if he sees you, AND he uses Eagle Vision to spot you AND call down the lightning on your position?

But, you do eventually kill him...after Elise dies in an explosion during her attempted Revenge!Kill... :(

I'm gonna guess the Paris Assassins chose to look the other way when they gave Arno his Master Robes. :D

And the ending...heh, heh...Why, of course Abstergo, you can have his bones for your little project. You just have to find them first. In the catacombs. Under Paris. You know, the one filled with dozens of skeletons? :D:p Mind the hallucinations. :drevil:

Can't wait for the stuff promised in the Season Pass (which is coming when?)

...I thought the Season Pass for Unity was cancelled, and instead, those who bought the Season Pass and Golden Edition of the game gets to pick another game they want as an apology for the bad launch of the game: Source

...Yes, I just frakking read that. :rage::rage:

Still, all mistake they made in this game would be forgiven if they make this: www.stealthybox.com/assassins-creed-rising-sun/

Okay, that, at least is awesome.:)

As far as I can tell this game sold pretty badly in my neck of the woods, local retailers have hundreds of copies sitting forlornly in back rooms after being removed from shelving units to make way for something that might get touched (Or even glanced at) by someone.

So I found a boat that just happened to be floating around in open water. On the boat I found a single guy who kept babbling to himself, about a dozen cats, and a couple of corpses hidden under a tarp. I'm not sure what to make of this.
