The war with the Hogosha was over almost as quickly as it started. Kari had taken into herself a Concept. One she felt drawn to greatly. The world had changed so much since she had come into being, and sometimes she just wished she could Undo it all.
The Hogosha's talents of Cold and Dark gave no defence against this new power. Their indestructability would not help them, nor their agelessness. Soon the battlefields cleared as the Hogosha wondered off, retreating to the rocks they spawned from. A few stayed behind, working on clearing the damage they and the mortals had caused in the war.
Of course, saying the war was quick was taking only the Divine beings view into things. For them it merely been an eye blink, a problem made then solved. The mortals had a very different viewpoint however. Stories great and small were made in the weeks of War that raged across the world. Of Embers and Aberrants taking cover in the Tower as the Pylons outside held off the invaders, wondering if these would be their last nights. Of the couple of brave mortals from both races that had decided to continue translating, hoping to leave something useful behind should they perish.
The City of Zugzwang had been under siege, the combined might of the clans fighting fiercely against the near immortal invaders, as researchers found weaknesses and strategies to hold of the invaders for another few hours, buying another day, then another, to keep their race alive. Heroes rose to defend the walls, legends that would be told for decades and centuries to come.
Outside the Gate, near the Forge of Ragadas the Aeons waited. They had no home now to call their own, and not all could fit inside the fortress of the Gate. So instead none did, the entire population took up arms and decided that if they stood no chance then they would not die cowering. The Aeon race stood together and decided to defy the Immortal Hogosha to their last. They did not stand alone of course, for the Embers sent to build the Pylons for Tiamat would not just stand by and watch. Their Focus was not on warfare, but they had many Shapers and their fire could help those chilled by the cold Hogosha. The third group to join them was the gladiators, the Aberrants of the Reaver clan that had been sent to foster good relations seeming so long ago. The stadium was taken apart and used to construct defences. The gladiators, skilled and brave warriors all, would stand at the forefront of this fight. Many would die, but their names would achieve a fame longer lasting and greater than any they had earned before.
The last group of the allied forces was hardly even noticed. The Endeavour Spirits had been attracted to the magnitude of this undertaking, and the sheer determination of the combined forces to live. They too would play their part, being the helping hand behind many of the greatest legends that would be created in the fight.
The Aeons, Embers and Aberrants were not the only races to be affected by the war of course, not the only ones who's stories are worth telling. The leader of the Tenebris reaped more Hogosha than any non-God or Titan could claim. Death had many forms, and the broken remains of the Hogosha were bound by Magic to prevent their healing.
Several of the corrupted guardian race had attempted to flank other positions by walking under the oceans surface, where none would expect them. They were never seen from again, though the few other mortals who witnessed them entering the waters swear they saw creatures with many limbs swarming the Hogosha.
Surprisingly, even the Anake were spotted participating the in war. Several Hogosha attacks where thwarted when they were buried under multiple of the statue like beings. If they were helping on purpose or simply going for the best food source is still much debated amongst the mortals.
The war was over, yes, but the peoples of the world would not forget it. They had seen the difference between them and their Gods. In the end they realised, of course, that it was all a matter of perspective.
