Knockturned for The Better (Harry Potter Shopkeeper Quest)

Neck and neck once again. it's anyone's game right now.

Except for Greece and Uganda. It's not their game

[X] [China]

Well, we already started on the path of Interesting Times, so might as well continue on. Interesting how the top two contenders have a thing for Necromancy too, if with different views on them.

Wonder what thoughts does egypt and china are on necromancy?
From a religious and cultural standpoint, I'd say that Egypt would be ok with some necromantic practices. A lot of it would be stuff to aid and appease spirits, since many of the funerary practices of Ancient Egypt were focused on that. Reanimating corpses would be one of the most blasphemous things you could do.

The ancient Egyptians believed that the soul was made out of at least 5 parts with the physical body or khet being needed to be kept intact in order navigate to the afterlife. The spirit had to pass through a place of trials, the Duat, in order to make it to the actual afterlife, the Aaru. All of the treasure (bribes), magical items, spells, and other grave goods were meant to aid them through their journey without being destroyed. By messing with a person's body before they complete the journey, you're basically murdering their spirit.

For necromancy in China, it is a big country with a lot of local practices. Ancestral spirits are/were a big thing, so messing with them would be bad. There are a bunch of different undead creatures with the most famous probably being the Jiangshi or hopping zombie. The bureaucrats in the underworld would be pissed if you start stealing spirits from them, unless you bribe them.
