Like, listening to Reinald religiously is probably a good call. Listening to other people in the same way is not necessarily so. Which isn't to say her advice is bad in this case, just noting that things she suggests are very much not 'obviously required' and that's a bad perspective to have going forward.
Anything Reinald would recommend for non-combat prayers?

Good point.

Though I was mostly thinking about her fellow squires being more well-rounded than Audrey's Unga Bunga capabilities. But it's clearly been working out for her so far so I can't really call it a bad thing.

I think you may be overestimating how 'well rounded' Squires in general are. Being a Squire or Knight is synonymous with being a highly specialized combatant. The thought, when training squires, tends to be 'make sure they can survive, they can learn anything else later, but not if they're dead'. And even as they gain more polish later, Knights are almost universally putting the lion's share of their stuff into combat in the long term.

They fight in different ways, and thus potentially favor different stats, but all are specialized in combat. Audrey being a gorilla is a reference to her very physical style of combat more than it is to her being more focused on it than her peers.

Something for Administration is probably good, but a bunch of stuff at Rough is not necessarily better than one well chosen option at Refined. Either is potentially viable. He'd definitely recommend finishing up your enhanced hearing thing, since it's not very useful in its current state. Beyond that, it depends on your priorities...something for sniffing out lies is something he'd consider very handy, but he'd admit that might have more to do with his own history than Audrey's current needs.

[X] Maybe you should be willing to take a bit of a loss today, to earn some favor here and there. Goodwill is difficult to buy, but potent armaments are a mighty offer indeed. (+2 Wealth and a Favor from a well placed buyer)

Gotcha. So it's just a well-focused comment aimed at successfully pushing Audrey to become invested in more scholarly/administrative stuff like any good teacher might use. Better to teach an invested student than one who's apathetic.

So I was doing a reread cause I thought it would be fun. I am pretty sure Reinald has some sort of lie detecting lies and maybe something that gives him impressions on what people are thinking based on what we know about his history.

Considering how often he is amused by Audrey's antics and her puffing her self up in her mind he has to actually have a way to know somewhat of what she is thinking to keep reacting the way he does with her.

Generally, yeah. This is about when she's expected to get more non-combat skills and it would reflect badly on her if she didn't, but she's not actually meaningfully behind her peers in that regard.

For the next training plan, ye I've got Web 3 slotted in, and then for Light I'm looking at the Taunt effect that has been talked over, and maybe have it also give us a defence buff. Like Cloak of Invisibility, but it has a Taunt effect instead of the invis, and it functions like a brilliant radiance that makes it hard to look at us due to us being rather bright (hence the defence boost) but it drowns out/hides the presence of our allies (for the taunt effect). I've got all 4 minimum Light training slotted at that this turn, and then next turn lob 5 at it to get it the rest of the way to Refined.
could i convince you to add a meditation that helps with blocking more attacks? :p

If the post read weirdly, it's because I wrote it in the morning and my head is still a bit fuzzy, that and I didn't proofread.

Still feel a bit wobbly honestly, I think I'mma take a nap.

Favors buy what money can't

Whether that's connections, assistance of other kinds, or the trading of goods that aren't for sale. That they'd be a "well placed" buyer just makes it all the more enticing tbh

Think about it: A Favor with someone well placed means a Favor with someone who has the reach to make it matter at a critical point.

We're set to get a Knight's fief/payment fairly soon- and while I know SV is probably considering what/how much to invest in our fief rather than the opposite, the fundamental point of the fief is to serve as a reliable source of income to fund the Knight. We have some liquid funds, we're about to get a long term source of funds- building more connections is substantially less consistent by comparison.

I'm betting that the favor will either be worth more than 4 Wealth or will provide us with something we couldn't get with Wealth alone.
